"Dear Sir/Mdm,
My name is Devin Jadewood.
I am emailing the developer of GO Backup for help regarding the restoration of a backup I created using your excellent software GO Backup.
GO Backup is very useful in backing up and restoring my data.
However, i changed recently from Sony Xperia X10 phone to Sony Xperia U phone.
So, I wanted to restore my backup of Sony Xperia X10 phone to Sony Xperia U phone.
Then, unfortunately, i accidentally deleted the GO Backup folder from the Sony Xperia 10 phone microSD card thinking that there was no backup.
But, I had pressed 'extract text messages from backup' option last time.
So, I noticed that there is still a "messages_gobackup_2012-07-17_12-49-57" xml file in the root folder of the microSD card.
Please tell me how do I restore it to my new Sony Xperia U phone.
Thankyou for your kind attention.
I would appreciate it if you help me.
Devin Jadewood."
also i tried using other backup apps to restore the xml file but the xml file was not compatible.
computer softwares to decode the xml files also dont work as i have no xls stylesheet for this file.
i tried xls stylesheet of other sms backup apps and they are not compatible.
pls help. thankyou very much

Have you tried creating a backup on your new phone, then go to the folder where the backup was created, and replace the file with your old backup. Then restore it.

Retrieve SMS from Xperia Play Nandroid Backup onto SGS-III

Hiya guys, nice to be on a new section of the forum
I've got a bit of a problem.....
Just bought a SGS-III and traded my old Xperia Play in for it. Before trading it in I did a full Nandroid backup, and THOUGHT I had backed everything up using Titanium too, however, my messages weren't backed up
I had some messages on that phone that I need to get back, so have been trying everything I could to find them in the Nandroid backup and add them into the system og my new SGS-III.
If anyone can help it would be great!!
This is something REALLY important to me, and for once I am really begging for help.
I was using Go SMS and Go Launcher Pro on the Play and I have already downloaded Go SMS onto the SGS-III.
The XPlay was on Gingerbread 2.3.4 and the SGS-III is on 4.1.2.
I have now tried AppExtractor from the market, and using unyaffs to get files from my back-up. Neither have worked for me
Found this and tried it, but still no luck

I did this yesterday using Titanium Backup for my SMS/MMS
You need to go into Preferences and check the *Migrate system data [Experimental] option
Then you go to More - Extract from nandroid backup
There it is listed as Dialer Storage
You can probably do the Phone log this way to but I did look for it.
I would recommend you do a current backup of [SMS/MMS/APN] Dialer Storage before you attempt this.

NOTHING seems to be working for me, I am starting to get really desperate.
I still haven't got anything to work, so PLEASE, if u have any ideas please let me know =/

Have a look at:
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db
This is where your sms should be stored in a SQLite Database.
mmssms.db?? is this for sms database?
and the database for note's??
thanks in advance
and is there any option or tool to read these DB-files before importing on my device? reading the content of the mmssms.db file on my desktop or laptop? is it sq-lite database file?
i figured out. i use sql viewer to read the content of DB-files...thanks
