Control the phone through PC - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Well, i have guitarrist fingers and im very lazy to write on the phone, so, is there any way to control the phone with the pc?
for example, to write whatsapps through the PC.
i found something called "androidscreencast" but i cant make it work
thanks in advance

I think you can use AirDroid for that, don't quote me for it though.

AirDroid is a nice app to do most tasks on your phone from the PC, but it does not support Whatsapp as far as I know..
I use the Droid VNC server app to control my device from the PC.

Our new app, VMLite VNC Server, should fulfill your needs, it does exactly what you need, to control android phones or devices from a PC, so you can use the external keyboard/mouse, etc. We app has fast responses, and works on rooted or non-rooted devices.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vmlite.vncserver&hl=en
so far our users like it.

What is the best way to transfer files from my Android phone to my Tab 10.1?

I have a Nexus S phone and a Galaxy Tab 10.1. What would be the best way to transfer files between the two devices directly? I've been using Dropbox for the occasional file but I need to move a good number of files quickly. Any ideas or app suggestions?
Get the USB adapter for the Tab, plug in a mulit-card reader, and stick the Micro SD card from your phone in that.
Or just use Bluetooth File Transfer:

For simple, small file it is recommended to use Bump. Its kinda fun and available for other platforms as well.
For larger, quick file transfer, it is up to you to transfer data using usb cable connecting to a single pc. If you have a wifi connection between the devices, you are free to use any wifi transfer software in the market. FTP function come 2nd to that.

If theyre both on wifi, i recommend using an app called websharing. You can turn websharing on on one device and type in the ip of that one in the browser of the other device and access files. Pretty convenient. Been transferring stuff from my vibrant to my gtab with no problems. Not too fast but certainly one of the easiest ways right now
how about dropbox .. check my signature ... thats how i transfer files from tablet to phone to Mac to PC .. etc

I've been using Dropbox as well to transfer albums and large pdfs from Mac/Nexus One to SGT as there's no other way to turn the SGT into a MSD on Mac. Websharing sounds like an interesting way to cut out the middle man. Thanks.

Well, it's quite useful. I was using the trial version from long time. After owning this tab, I upgraded to full version so that I can utilize the multiple files transfer at once. I don't regret my purchase.

[Q] Remote File Transfer App?

Hey all, I have been looking everywhere for an app or method to remotely transfer files to AND from my android device from my pc, without the restriction of having to be on my local network wifi. I'm beginning to think there may not be one available, although I can't see why not.
Any Ideas?
If all you need is file transfering, try an FTP server.

Dropbox?
Pocketcloud, or teamviewer used with dropbox can accomplish this. Remote access your pc, copy file to dropbox, and download to sd card. A little tedious, but works for me.

Those all sound like they need WiFi, sounds like he's look to use Bluetooth? I mean you got to use something.
Agreed that dropbox or similar cloud storage may be your best bet. Just set up the desktop client to sync to a folder on your computer, and to go back to your phone, you can use a program like Dropsync, which offers two way syncing between phone and dropbox.

I wish somebody could get sshdroid or quicksshd to work over 3G or 4G, but I don't know enough about VZs network. If that works for somebody, then let me know.
One could use Tasker to maintain a VPN connection. I use VPNRoot.
Team viewer now can control droid remotely.
A phone as a PPTP server would be ultimate.

[Q] Are there any Android apps similar to Motocast?

I have Motocast on my Motorola Droid 4 which lets me view/access any file on my computer as long as both my phone and laptop are connected to the internet and I have the Motocast software running on my computer.
Are there any similar apps that work on non-Motorola Android devices?
Thanks

Yeah it's one of the few good apps I've seen that isn't plagued by a ton of people wrongly giving it one stars because they didn't bother to read what it does or how it works.

I use ES File Explorer which can access shared folders via LAN. No software is needed on the host computer other than setting up the shared folder(s).
How do you reach the PC if it's nat'd behind the router?

From your cell phone, how do you reach your PC to access the shared directory, if the PC is behind a nat'd router?

I'm pretty sure you have to go into settings and network options. You may have to change your router settings to allow access as well.

I don't think that you can control your phone from your pc but you can definitely control your pc from your phone. I have tested it myself. Just get TeamView from Playstore.:good:

Need a wireless file transfer app

Anybody know of a good free wireless transfer app? I need to transfer from a computer to the phone. I'm currently using a chromebook because my pc motherboard is dead. Chromebook fails to detect the phone as a media device. Need to transfer a large file. 1.7gb

I would recommend airdroid. You can find it on the play store. I used to have this problem with my Nexus 7 where the PC wouldn't recognize it AT ALL. I used airdroid to transfer roms and other stuff to it all the time. I would recommend using it on wifi though because it does use alot of data transferring big files. It really works great though. Just download it and follow the instructions. It will give you a web address to go to on your computer, when you do you will get a prompt on your device asking to allow access, hit grant and then your done. Super easy and super useful. You can also use wireless adb, but it takes a LONG time to transfer files bigger than two or three hundred megabytes. Good luck.

I use to use wifi file explorer its prettt nice but now that samsung has their own version I use kies. You probably need the samsung usb drivers for it to recognize your phone. Usb transfer is much fastee btw.
Hit thanks if I helped you out. Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.
