can you boot into the bootloader to get into the recovery? i have flashed all the kernels here on top of each other without any issues....
p.s. incase you forgot, i believe it is hold volume down + power to get into the bootloader

When you install a kernel it replaces the one that was there.
That did not brick your device.
If you can get to recovery do a full wipe and flash a ROM

i doubt your bricked boss.. bricked is phone not turning on at all.. and charge light not coming on when u plug it in.. just a stright dead phone

nope my phone is total out of there, no bootloader no light when charging, plug it into computer and it says that Qhsusbd-load, ive tried drivers, the unbricker i got ubuntu all that. i was running evil aroma and flashed yp-g70 and dead

yeah i flashed this off of freEVOLTE [Kernel]7/13/12 StockMOD 1.22.651.3 CoreDuo/ScreenOff Script/MemManagement/DimLights

Try running the Lazypanda unbricker, or the other Evo LTE unbricking tool. It might just be that it accidentally went into QHUSB mode even though nothing was wrong.

Did you check MD5 hash before flashing it? You should ALWAYS do this, I know it wont help now, but for the future. That ensures that the file is identical to what was uploaded. Also (and I know you're probably aware of this, but in case anyone else is reading) only flash files that are specific to our device. Another kernel for another device will most definitely brick you.
I would try to see if the HTC unbrick project helps you, otherwise if you have sprint insurance (not the fancy 11 dollar one) that covers software issues (4 dollars a month) will cover this since it is a software problem.

Being rooted does not prevent sprint from working on the phone or filing an insurance claim

I have no idea. I Googled it and it came back as a Samsung Galaxy player. So if the op flashed something meant for this Samsung music player then no wonder the phone is bricked.

There are still precautions that shouldve been taken.
The kernel shouldn't even have it on the device, and if it was fastboot flashed he shouldve had seperate folders for each device

I have heard this issue alot on xda, and i'll say its pretty much bricked, if you can't turn it on or get into the bootloader or recovery tmobile/wind/htc wouldn't be able to, other people with the same issue said they got it replaced with no problems, so you got nothing to worry about
Buy a new battery.

Its not bricked dude, its a battery failure. See my thread, I've got the same issue, its solved by replacing the batttery..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1561104
You can call up HTC North America [email protected] 866-449-8358 if you are in US, they will ship you the battery free of cost.
When I called them up they asked me to ship the phone back, however I had also had unlocked the bootloader voiding the warranty, so I took a chance and told them I tested the phone at local tmo center it works with replacement battery (even though I hadn't)...they said no need to ship the phone then...we'll have the battery sent out to you...and it arrived in 3 business later although I had to wait quite long as there was weekend in between...
BTW what ROM/Kernel/recovery combo were you using before it died ?

We can't blame NRGZ's ROM for it, as its the most popular ROM for this phone and to my knowledge just the ROM can't cause such a bug, the kernel might (even i'm not sure for that but still)...can any devs (Adjust? ) give their opinion on it ?

Can you get the phone into download mode?
To do this, pull the battery out (to make sure the phone is completely off), plug it in, hold the volume-down and home buttons then turn it on while holding those buttons.
If you can get it into download mode, then it should be possible to reflash the proper firmware using Odin.
Or at least, that's how things went when I had my Samsung Vibrant. I've only owned my S3 for a day.

Sorry, you're qhsusb_dload (aka hard) bricked. I've spent about 3 days trying to fix mine after I bricked it flashing a kernel on a bad port of cwm. If I had a working S3 and another 3 days I might be able to un-hardbrick it, but yeah, will just be exchanging it as soon as they come back in stock.

Just take it to Sprint but don't tell em you was trying to download a custom rom.. Simple they probably don't know the issue yet until more people start taking they brick phones in because they tried to root..
I think you overpaid for your paperweight . Yes, I feel a little cruel for making a joke about someone who just lost $600, but you do still have a chance at exchanging it at Sprint. Bricking a phone is every custom rom users worst nightmare, but that's probably your best option. Good luck.

Yeah I did the same thing I think, tried to flash a kernel via cwm, said operation aborted...ok....so I reboot it and now it wont turn on, cant get it in download mode. Weird thing is though when i plug it in to my computer and hold down the power button, while nothing happens to my phone my computer will continuously make the connect disconnect sound like my phone is turning on for a nano second.
and if my phone is plugged in with battery out red charge light comes on, so I know something is going on in there.
any thoughts on how/if I can fix....
Yeah I may be a crook. But I would take the battery out and stick the headset in the microwave for about 3 seconds. You have insurance on it. Do what you got to do. They lie, cheat, and steal every chance they get.

Sorry, you're hard-bricked. As I mentioned in a previous post, your phone is in "qhsusb_dload" mode, which is a Qualcomm firmware flashing mode. If you look in your Device Manager, that's what you'll see your computer is detecting. There's absolutely nothing you can do at this point as no one outside Qualcomm/Samsung has the proper tools/files to recover from this state.

A compatible jig may be your only solution if you can't get into download mode manually. A jig would force the phone into download mode, once in download mode you'd be able to flash the stock AT&T firmware through Odin.

If you didnt know a rom could brick a phone you shouldnt be flashing period. Theres always ALWAYS bold letters that says this may brick your phone an or we are not responsible if this breaks your phone... no one with there first android should be flashing till they know android smoothly... *sigh*
Usually 90% of the time your always able to get into recovery mode. From what I've read this only happens when flashing the omega Rom. People make mistakes.

If ppl read things 95% of there questions would be answered. The other 5% could be found by google
I understand telling him to read. And he did so for about a week. He succesfully used odin to root his phone. A few days later he said he wanted to Rom, and asked me how to do a proper back up with titanium backup. I ran him through the backup procedure.
I mean I totally thought that if he made it through the rooting procedure that he was good to go. Rom'ing has always been to me something fairly easy, and if something went haywire, just boot to recovery.
I've had people ask for help that flashed an incomplete or corrupted download, but have always been able to at least power the phone on, or at the very least have it recongnized in adb.
I have been reading and googling about a fix, but information seems minimal on this current circumstance. So I reached out to the community for advice.

So my phone doesn't light up at all, no orange light, no boot, no sound when i plug it into the computer...
I've done the unplug and plug back in without battery, pull the battery, leave it out for a while, try to boot into hboot, nothing seems to bring any light or life to the phone...
I'm S-On right now and was following the instructions on Nil's thread on updating to the newest firmware in post 3 of his thread... It finished the first stage of flashing and then went dark, nothing from that point on... Any ideas?

Try leaving the battery out for like 10 hours. Then try it.

ok holy **** on the amount of responses...
I might contact V later tonight at work and see if I can get the warrenty replacement, Yes, the wife has a rezound, tried her battery, no dice... I will leave the battery out all night and check when I get home and see what the verdict is... but I do need to charge up the OG and get my service transferred...
Ironically I JUST got a new battery back cause mine fell out of my pocket and tweaked one of the antenna pins good...
Wow i just bricked mine too lol
I was doing something stupid though

If it's really bricked then they won't be able to check it. Once I sent back a Rezound on ICS with an unlocked bootloader and they didn't care and when I sent my bad nexus back, I completely forgot to unroot it and sent it back with CWM, CM9 and all my personal data and they didn't care. They don't check it they just flash it back to stock

I know this may sound stupid, but what percentage was the battery at?

i just flashed a rom and now i can't get past the initial screen that is locked

I've swiped and swiped and swiped and nothing. It's just sitting on the initial lock screen.
I have no roms other than the one I installed which is "T-Mobile DeOdexed and Rooted 1.27.531.11: http://www.filefactory.com/file/pm58....11_Deodex.zip" installed and can't get into my internal storage on my comp to be able to add another rom to my phone.
I can swipe screen when in recovery just not when the phone is booted up normally so it's not the screen itself. It has something to do with the rom

It probably has something to do with the fact you have no clue what you are doing and possibly got a bad download or something. Did u happen to flash the firmware package for the build number is since you were 4.3 and we're backing down to a lower version with a different firmware or did you not know that?

No, I was unaware I needed to do that. This may have been my problem but it's weird that it killed my touchscreen.

Because there's a touch screen update in the one ur one so they are not compatible. You need to do ur research not just want it handed to u m

Ya, I seen that touchscreen update when I was researching my problems and I had a feeling that was the issue.
I just found out they got something you can use to connect a mouse to your phone. I'm gonna go down to fry's electronics and pick one up and see if I can get to my screen that way. For anyone that reads this, this may be the way to salvage a failed rom flash if you didn't flash the firmware like I didn't.

I will update tomorrow if I can get it to work

Which don't you just find the FW thread and flash the proper FW or even flash a 4.3 ROM back on ur phone and then have a fully functional phone again. You are doing things that are completely unnecessary, but that's up to you. This is my last helpful post for you, even though you cursed me and blamed me for your error, I'll give u one last bit of free information to help you.

Is that possible without having a working touch screen and not being able to turn on usb debugging and not having access to your internal memory from your comp ?
I didn't have a chance to make it down to Fry's electronics today. I hope to make it there in the next day or so.

Yep Google how to push or sideload a ROM while in recovery.

I just want to link to my other thread for others in the future that need to go back to 4.3 after a failed 4.1.2 install..
