How do i activate call forwarding on my PHOTON 4G?
i am on non-sprint Network in India.
Thanks
It is depends on your carrier not you phone. IIRC there is no app or setting that will reroute a call that you phone receives. It is rerouted or forwarded by your carrier.
Call Forwarding
this is from wikipedia.
I am on BSNL 3G network. it works for me. (I could not see any call divert menu on my Photon 4G)
Forward service Activate Cancel & Deregister Cancel & Retain Status Reestablish Unconditional forwarding:
all calls *21*[phone number]# ##21# #21# *#21# *21#
Conditional forwarding:
if busy *67*[phone number]# ##67# #67# *#67# *67#
if not answered *61*[phone number]# ##61# #61# *#61# *61#
if out of reach *62*[phone number]# ##62# #62# *#62# *62#
all forwards *002*[phone number]# ##002# #002# *#002# *002#
all conditional forwards *004*[phone number]# ##004# #004# *#004# *004#
If the prefix to the forwarding command is "**" (instead of the usual "*"), then the phone number in that command is registered in the network. If after that the forwarding is deactivated using a command with a single "#", then later it will be possible to re-activate this forwarding again with a simple "*" command without a phone number in it. The forwarding will be re-activated to the number registered in the network. For example, if one uses the out-of-reach code in a forwarding command:
**62*7035551212#
and after that one deactivates the forwarding:
#62#
then later it will be possible to re-activate the out-of-reach forwarding without specifying a number:
*62#
After the above command, all calls made to the phone, while it is out of reach, will be forwarded to 7035551212. It is possible to activate the feature to a number other than the registered number, whilst still retaining the registered number for later use. For example, issuing the command:
*62*7185551212#
will result in calls being forwarded to 7185551212 (and not to the registered number 7035551212). However, if later a command is issued:
*62#
then the calls will again be forwarded to the registered number 7035551212 (and not to the number from the previous forwarding command 7185551212).
Additionally, in GSM networks, such as T-Mobile and AT&T Mobility in USA, and all mobile networks in EU, it is possible to set the number of seconds the phone will ring before forwarding. This is specified by inserting "*SC*XX" prior to the final "#" of the forwarding command, where "SC" is a service type code (11 for voice, 25 for data, 13 for fax), and "XX" is the number of seconds in increments of 5 seconds. If "SC" is omitted (just "**XX") then by default all service types will be forwarded. For example, forwarding on no-answer can be set with:
*61*[phone number]**[seconds]#
In some networks there may be a limit of not more than 30 seconds before forwarding (i.e. "XX" can only be 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30; all greater values, like 45 and 60, will result in the forwarding command being rejected and an error message returned).
Thanx portman.. alas m not on BSNL network

Call forward is a network service. Photon normally do not allow it to activate outside sprint. may be they blocked it in the os level. But you can do it by putting the Sim in another phone and activate call forwarding and put the sim back in photon and it will work. Photon just dont allow to activate it but happy with already activated forwards!.

Hi
I've only had the xda for a week and I have a question:
I know how to forward all calls to voicemail but its a long procedure (phone-setting-call forwarding etc.).
Is there an easier way to do this, i.e. can you set up something like a macro on the desktop that you click and it will automatically do this and also one other for undiverting the phone.
Thanks

**21*PhoneNumber# Register and activate divert all calls to PhoneNumber
*21# Activate divert all calls
#21# Deactivate divert all calls
##21# Unregister divert all calls
*#21# Check status of divert all calls
Simly set yourself some speed dials in the phone app.
XDA (Siemens SX56) would complain service code must enter from the keypad. We have serveral call forward numbers in the contact list that we use regularly. Every time, we try to use MS Voice Command to dial those call forwarding number, it would complain and would not proceed with the action. Any ideas? work around would be greatly appreciate!
Example, for Rogers AT&T in Canada, *21*<phone number>#, will call divert (forward) the mobile number to another number.
I have the same problem on Rogers ATT with XDA II... not sure what causing it. Anybody? Any ideas?
This is a Microsoft issue. They are aware of it, and it is on their list of things to fix. Just not that high up the list.
Speed dial seems to the only way to do gsm service code
Speed dial is the only way to get call forwarding working. However, MS Voice Command does not seem to allow speed dial a number.
Does Speed-Dial work for you?
Like others, if I store a *21* sequence as a contact, and then use this to establish a speed-dial entry, I get the "must use phone keypad" error message.
I haven't been able to directly store a number as a speed-dial. "New" only lets me select something from contacts, and "Edit" only lets me change the name and speed-dial location, not the dial string.
Have you actually been able to store a *21* string directly into a speed-dial and have it work properly? If so, can you tell me how?
Thanks
Hello all!
Whenever i make an outgoing call on my new ATT Note, i get a message that pops up saying "Conditional Call Forwarding Active"
I have never seen this before and i just was wondering if it was normal.
Thanks!
I've never seen that on mine. Perhaps check the call options?
I believe it has to do with using voicemail other than the ATT built in voicemail. If you use you mail, or googlevoice for your mail, this has to be activated. You dial a code in, get confirmation, then your messages go to your voicemail provider. There is a reversal code to dial in to stop the call being forwarded to a different voicemail provider.
Well. I come from an iphone 4s. I had visual vmail and when i upgraded today at the store they didn't switch my vmail over. So i called in and told them i had no voicemail and she added It for me and ever since then the message has popped up every time i make a call.
Voicemail does work though.

Hi,
Can anybody tell what that is?
If I go to Call Forwarding options, they are all disabled.
How can I disable Unconditional Call Forwarding? What is that anyway?
Some networks won't let you disable it. Mine (Vodafone AU) doesn't.
Unconditional call forwarding means no calls are received on your phone & all calls are redirected to the number you choose (your work number, voicemail, whatever). Whereas conditional call forwarding only happens when say your phone is out of service area or you're on another call or your phone is switched off, for example.
Hi All,
So I got Straight Talk with ATT on my S3 and tried to setup Google Voice as the voicemail.
I initially ran into the issue of GV crashing when trying to set it up from my phone/app. I then went through the voice website and set it up through there, basically did the whole entire *004*+GV number+3,etc.
Now GV is set as the voicemail and the conditional call forwarding is working.
However, what I cannot for the life of me change is the dialer shortcut/speed dial #1 and get it to be set to call GV. It always uses the ST number.
I tried:
1.) Call Settings>Voicemail Service> *selects* google voice...system does this whole service thing then says "voicemail number change unsuccessful"
2.) Call Settings>Voicemail Settings> Voicemail Number> changes the number to my phone's number or the GV phone number, gets the same error as before "voicemail number change unsuccessful"
3.) Tried reinstalling the app, turning phone on and off, deactivating and reactivating GV voicemail, nothing works.
So is it even possible to change the voicemail number so I can get speed dial 1 to work with GV or is the voicemail number locked to the sim card/provider?
On TouchWiz JB 4.1.1
