I've been using Spacious ICS recently, but started having apk installation issues so I'm looking into switching. Spacious worked great with the LiveDock, but I've noticed that other ROMs...not so much. Anybody have any suggestions, links? or know if there was something I could flash to make any ROM work with the dock.

I have used and extensivly tested both of them, if you want the
full features of your camera to remain intact you should select
the UnNamed 1.0.4 rom. CM7 lacks many of the features in the
camera part of the phone and it does not give you the full 30fps
framerates while recording videos as well as other issues.
Not only that, but the cosmetic appearance of the camera's lcd screen looks
like some cheapy camera phone and lacks many of the options which are found
in all the stock and custom roms except in CM7.
Hope this helps.
CM7 is good, but still has some rough edges.. I would suggest unnamed as your option being a new Android user. unnamed is based on the stock ROM and enhances on the stock rom. So basically everything works out of the box as it was intended to be
Okay thanks guys! Exactly what I needed. I thought since CNET was bigger, it would be better. good thing I asked!

As stated above there are a lot of difference between the two roms you mentioned above. I would say try them all out as it is very easy. Get a rom working THE WAY YOU LIKE IT, then make a nandroid backup, try out another rom and set it up the way you like it and then make a nandroid backup. Then you can easily go between roms or stick with what you like best. As far as CM7 goes (I have been using CM7 since my captivate) and have found I like it the best. Due to integrated modifications and such it has everything working great. I do see that the camera works well but is not the same as the stock camera as far as settings and the CM7 camcorder (haven't noticed any issues personally) framerates not working as good as stock/stock based roms, and speed dial is not built in. Those are the ONLY things that can use some work in my humble opinion. But if your like me and want to customize easier, switch to different themes on the fly without any problems other than opening up the built in theme Chooser app. For stock roms I always had to wait for the theme developer to update his theme between rom updates due to framework changes, sometimes this would be the same day to a few days in between. Just trying to share some of the benefits CM7 may have. I have also tried different roms as UnNamed rom and they do work really well, the speed and fluidity of the stock based roms is as good as CM7 right now (wasn't the case on my captivate as CM7 worked smoother and faster than stock based roms). Plus CM7 will PROBABLY have ICS working before it is working on the stock roms. There are many things to look at and try out, so that is why I recommend trying them all out and find what you like.

Simply put, do you want it to be smooth or not? UnNamed is liquid butter smooth for me, cm wasn't. I have a very picky eye for this kind of thing being a pc gamer
tried both... Preferring CM7 at this point...
Although it's nice that the Stock-based firmwares (unNamed) work 100%, I know that development for CM7 is not far behind, and will soon surpass anything stock-based can offer.
The only real upside to unNamed over CM7 at the moment is the fully working Wifi Hotspot feature. (Which will of course be fixed soon in CM7) as well as the MHL (USB to HDMI adapter)...
Again... Both are good roms. But if you want to get on the Ice-cream truck sooner; go with CM. If you want things working %100 without a lot of trouble... Go with unNamed.

I like CM7 as well however the Camera is one of the main feats of the phone, and if there was a good alternative whether 3rd party or not i would keep CM7 (its still on a NAND backup) but there isnt. Not even the MIUI Camera works (which is kinda nice). Also, the MHL out doesn't work as you mentioned, and battery life is fairly close to one another.
I personally bounce back between serendipity and Cm7, However IF there was a way to run a i9100 rom on our phones, then i would run gingerMOD all the way.
I am looking for something on the HTC Thunderbolt that has the look and feel of ICS but without all the buggy issues. I tried several 4.0 versions from different sights but stuff like data does not work reliably or mms does not work at all. So I am willing to try out any GB rom or ICS rom or ICS hybrid rom that has all the basic working features as a stock rom would. Also what I am looking for is something that has USB tethering built in as I never could get the downloadable apps for USB tethering to work. I do not require Wifi tethering simply because its too slow for gaming and is unreliable. Lastly if you can recommend a rom with good battery life.

Wow, alot to ask for, but ill try. I think if you need tethering built in, you need something aosp, like thundershed. There are ics themes for aosp scattered in market or in theme section i believe. You probably just need to read here, rootzwiki, and any other place that has rom development, and then start flashing. Everyone has different tastes. Oh, an my experience with aosp is bad battry life, just my $.02. Good luck dude. I use eternity and ginger bread rock.

Finally, I find that someone is having trouble getting hdmi video out to work on newer roms with the dock and wondering if anyone else has--that would be me. I've had the same problem since I switched from Vegan 5.1 (now using dirtybean). I've been wondering the same thing and haven't seen a successful solution yet. Have I missed something? Supposedly it works. Considering a move to smooth bean. My first post here (I try to search everything first).
I did a clean install of smooth bean, still no HDMI out--hate to go back to froyo but it sounds like my only option unless someone can tell me something I did wrong along the way. I like this rom! Amazon app doesn't--lost my paid apps.
Went back to C&C ultimate froyo and now I have working HDMI out--wish someone could tell me how to have my jelly bean and eat it too, no ideas eh?
as the title says, looking for suggestions on a rom with a good working video camera. i've run tron and infection from neo and absolutely adore them. 4.2 is better than .1 but still not perfect, just kinda playing the field and looking for suggestions on things from people who have had good experiences with any particular rom. i've been running jellybean, so i'm a bit spoiled and don't really wanna go backwards. thanks all!

If you don't want to go backwards then I'm afraid to say that you are stuck. There is a definite drawback to running the cutting edge with an aging phone. One of the most glaring is the lack of a flawlessly working video camera. Neo just updated his Rage ROM (which is ICS, of course), and that update may bring some of the sweetness of JB to ICS (I haven't run it yet so I can't confirm yet). However, Chad had just about everything but bluetooth calling nailed with ICS AOSP, so that would be your best bet if you want to remain on AOSP. Sense will give you the absolute best video recording and playback; hands down. It's a trade-off, and really hard to make the decision sometimes!
Are there bad camera issues with any of the sense 4+ Roms? Just really over stock in general. I don't use Bluetooth and tether isn't too important to me. Just wanna stay away from stock and still have a working camera/camcorder

No, Sense 4+ cameras are just as good as the 3.6 camera. HTC definitely got their camera app right. AOSP ROMs don't have quite the same quality, but they will suffice if you don't want to compromise the slickness of your phone.

I was on Infection and the "Dr. Who". They are really cool, but felt like a wanted something a little more stable....Apparently so did Neo, while the bugs are being worked out so he released a new version of RAGE AOSP, optimized with his recent work....Its ICS, but it barely misses a beat......yes...its not quite as buttery, but its as close as I've seen on ICS and soooo stable!

From what I have seen even with the thunderbolt. If you want great pictures and videos then you have to run a sense ROM. As good as aosp is over all the camera section just sucks in quality of photo. To bad you can't incorporate the sense camera part in to aosp. Only thing I can say is have a backup of both but thats just not practical. I only run sense ROMs as the battery life is much better than it was on my bolt running aosp GB and ICS. I haven't been brave enough to do s off yet. Good luck on finding your holy grail.

thanks everyone, it's much appreciated. if i do want to go back to ICS rage or even a sense rom, will i have to do anything special as far as flashing the rom goes? i'm s-on still so i'm familiar with flashing the rom/kernal...anything extra needed to get on a sense 4+ rom or go back to Rage?

I never had to do anything special but I never flashed an aosp ROM on my rezound. So just as long as you flash what you need to in the boot loader you should be good to go.

Hi all,
I'm just wondering if there are any suggestions for a lean, fast, simple ROM for the GT-P7510 Wifi? I've currently installed the Omni 5.1.1-20150925-p4wifi-HOMEMADE and it's alright, but it lags a bit here and there.
I mainly just want toread ePubs and PDFs on the tablet, so I don't need much. I did try installing tons of media stuff (Netflix, Plex, Spotify) to see how it would go and they're all a bit too cumbersome for this old tablet, at least with this lollipop rom, so I'm uninstalling most of that stuff now, it's not important.
So, what are people's favorite lean, speedy ROMs for the GT-P7510 wifi?
big bump to also do something useful with my wife's old GT-P7510
I am using this one forever already... It is Jellybean, but I have never had an issue. Development stopped on this, but I use the nightly from 10/19/2014....It works so well, I never felt the urge to even try anything else. (And I used to flash and test ROMs for a few different developers!)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2716016
I did try many custom rom but then i revert back to stock ics rom with rooted, deodexed, xposed and L-Speed mod.
I removed all the bloat apps from original rom and now my tab is fast, clean, good for everyday usage.
thanks, will give that last namelewss 4.4.4 build a go, then revert back to your nightly if any issues Sherri. Appreciate the input everyone. I don't like junking perfectly good hardware ust cos it's a few years old... too much technojunk in the world!
