I currently purchased a new SG3. It has the vodafone branding which I want to change. When I do the *#1234# it shows me the following:

Am I able to change the software/firmware from Vodafone to the Telstra one located on Sammobile. Im unable to post outside links but heres a copy of whats available on sammobile.
Firmwares for GT-I9300T - All (10 latest)
Country/Carrier Date Android PDA CSC
Australia (Telstra) 2012 June 4.0.4 I9300TDUALF2 I9300TTELALF2
Australia (Telstra) 2012 May 4.0.4 I9300TDUALE6 I9300TTELALE6
I got no idea how all this rooting stuff works. Im trying to learn but I can get my head around it. So sorry if any of my questions seem stupid. Thanks for all your help in advance.
No need rooting to flash.
And yes you can flash Telstra firmware on Voda model, they are the same hardwares.
You need Odin 3.04 and need samsung usb driver or if you already have it working with Kies, then no worries about driver.
Here I copied the general instruction from the UK thread:
Instructions For Flashing Firmware:
Extract the firmware
Launch Odin
Turn off your device
Put your device into Download MODE (Home + Volume Down + Power)
Click PDA and select *.tar.md5
Then finally click START!
Thanks mate. Am downloading the firmware now. Its gonna take 2 hours to download.
Am I meant to change any of the options in Odin3?
Thanks again.
Now that I have flashed my galaxy s3 successfully.
I keep getting the message "Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped"
Does anyone know what this is or can direct me into the right place? Ive done a factory reset as another thread recommended but didnt work.
Thanks

If you would like to make unrooting , and you are interested in the Turkish language and english , download firmware here ; http://www.hotfile.com/dl/167719476/9ea79b8/I9300XXBLFB_I9300OJVBLF3_TUN.zip.html (Country/Carrier TUNISIA )
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/163063926/4b056f2/I9300XXBLFB_I9300OJVBLF3_EGY.zip.html (Country/Carrier Egypt )
Flash with ODIN...
Alternatively install the latest firmware and use this application to change the language https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wxLDMsImpwLmNvLmNfbGlzLmNjbC5tb3JlbG9jYWxlIl0
thanks for replying.. seems legit
but i wanna ask since that corresponds to egypt and tunis will my lebanese sim card work on it? or do i need to do something after installing the firmware to make my sim card supported?
All roms support all devices.
If you are interested you can flash the one for China or Mexico.
from the looks of it you don't have any special country-optimized rom installed anyway

A friend of mine wants me to downgrade his I9100 (4.0.4).
Currently it says:
PDA: I9100XWLPW
PHONE: I9100XXLQ6
CSC: I9100DBTLPI
Build number: IMM76D.XWLPW
It is a German DBT phone.
He would like to downgrade to 4.0.3, but I don't know which firmware to take.
I found PDA:I9100XWLPI CSC:I9100DBTLP6
and PDA:I9100XWLP7 CSC:I9100DBTLP5
Does it matter which one I take?
If not, what's the difference?
Thx in advance.

XWLPI is more recent that XWLP7 so it should be more stable.
Thank you mate.
Flashed the more recent one through odin. No problems so far.
Cheers
Hi everyone,
Since I aquired my Samsung Galaxy S2 i only updated software via KIES. In the last update (i think to 4.0.4) the settings always crash.
At startup and whenever i access Settings i receive the following message "Unfortunately, settings has stopped."
I tried to find a solution for this problem, but i still don't know if it is possible to solve it.
I already wiped cache and did a factory reset.
My rom info is the following:
PDA: I9100XWLPW
PHONE: I9100XXLQ6
CSC: I9100DBTLPI
Build Info: Wed Aug 22 22:34:22 KST 2012
Is my only option flash a new firmware using odin?
Or anyone knows another way?
Thanks
PS:
I dont know what is the exact kernel or firmware version tag, since i can't access the settings.
PS2:
I know there are similar posts (for Galaxy SII and SIII), but are not exactly the same problem. So i decided to create a new thread.
Hmm,post your phone exact model/country/carrier etc. Then someone can tell you which firmware you need.
I would say go back to 4.0.3,but thats cos I think 4.0.4 is total crap.
Here is the info: (I will update the first post too)
PDA: I9100XWLPW
PHONE: I9100XXLQ6

I will use Odin to reflash my firmware.
Hope it solves the problem.
I will post here the results.
Did you ever figure it out? I am experiencing the same issue.
Unfortunately, I had to reflash my firmware.
