i tryed to RUU but i throws me an error message. i need to unroot to have the phone serviced data problem. if i can get a ruu to work ill re root once the problem is fixed.. a loss of data can be put back with out a huge problem..

dont kno if u guys ever hurrdd of team viewer.. its dope!! u can remotely do isshh.. me and my boy tryed it the other day .. once i go on it gives me a password just give it to the person your trying to link up with and bam!!! its so sweet.. there a lil box to chat in.. and u can see the other guys computer and u take control.. so say someone is having trouble with something.. hook up on there and u can help the person out!!! sweet! huh

I'm gonna assume you mean root when you say flash.
1. Advantage of root: you can delete stock apps like timescape or that captive thingmy. This will speed up the frankly sluggish stock ROM. You can also flash xrecovery and a new ROM.
2. Disadvantage of root: Root voids warranty. Although you can unroot with SEUS at any time, so no real disadvantage.
3. Once you are rooted and have flashed xrecovery you can download an upgrade and use xrecovery to upgrade your phone.

just do it. you'll know the advantage and disadvantage later...
and if it's only about 'software' then it will always be 'reversible'.
so there's no worry about flashing custom ROM
Advantages: you'll have a massive smile on your face.
Disadvantages: the smile might start to hurt your cheeks after a few days.

You would need to install xRecovery from the flashtool (before that you would have to allow root permission from the computer by clicking 'Check Root' on flashtool)
If you want everything working apart from Adobe Flash, then EW's 2.1 is recommended.
All Froyo roms in the dev section are stable enough for everyday use with full working camera/camcorder.
I'm not sure about the GB roms but the camera is not yet fully functional.
I'm gonna flash mi x10a; please let me know the links about how to use flashtool and how to install the roms .

ofcourse it voids ur warranty.. but it doesnt really matter..
try out a few custom roms..some of them r quite spectacular...
mmmm nyway.. since ur new probably waitin til the official GB update is nt a bad idea afterall

You are asking how to turn off data?
Add Power Control Widget to any homescreen.
Uncheck Data icon.
Or go Settings->Wireless->and turn data off in there somewhere.

Hello all. I have a problem when I want to unlock bootloader without lose DRM.
I installed all the drivers but when I come to step 4 (androidflip.com/unlock-xperia-phones-bootloader-without-losing-drm-data-track-id-working/) but I don't know exactly what to do.
I start s1 tools and patchSEMCboot.
I tried to connect the testpoint and then connect the ground wire but nothing.
I tried to connect like step 1,case 2,image 1 but nothing.
All I need is this step!!

It's your phone branded? I mean, it's sim locked? You need to unlock first.. if you unlock with fast gsm or wotanserver it will unlock bootloader too..
Ps.. my english sucks too, but you can write in italian, I will understand..

Nop, I said flashtool about original firmware, are you talking about stock rom or "your stock rom"? You should backup your rom first, before you install a custom rom.. But since you already "lost" warranty (actually, you didn't.. There's tricks to get your warranty back, unless you open your phone..), you can put any stock rom with flashtool or wotan client..
(there's other ways to get back your firmware after installing a custom rom, but i'm not gonna tell you yet.. it's too much confusing for you right now..)

Greetings! Friends i need to know if S-ON is the reason why i cant upgrade to the cm-10-20130310-NIGHTLY-ruby or any of the cutom ROM's? My HTC Amaze 4G (Asia Region) remains stuck on the HTC logo after installing the .zip and rebooting my system. I have also tried one other STOCK ROM for HTC Amaze 4g (T-Mobile) this worked fine, only with the exception that my wifi on in the settings would show a wifi error and i had to use an internet pass through to gain access to the market. Concluding it on this, If S-ON is my problem here? can any one help me with the link to Hasoon S-OFF toolkit. I did use his All in one kit to unlock the boot loader and permanently root my phone but did not find the S-OFF option in that tool kit. Looking forward to a prompt response

However i have a little situation here that i do not have a Linux or Ubuntu based OS and am on Win 7 on all my systems. The Hasoon S-OFF all in one tool kit for windows is what i was looking for but could not find a link to it any where!

No such thing exists anymore. Only one way to s-off. And u dont need linux or ubuntu. I did it using win 7

Here is the link, but S-Off is really a separate function. In fact, the tool is simply consolidating many outside tools to accomplish the tasks.

well if you already have the the s off tool you can open the zip (dont unzip it) double click the controlbear.exe...if your have windows 7 64bit i recommend running it through administrator account (right click my computer>>manage>>local users and group then click the users folder and right click administrator account properties and untick the account disable check box and it'll appear in login screen) phew lol dont mess up with that account it's the pc's main account run the jbear, once your done disable it right away

i did this request due to problem in editing only....
when i edit my si number in 3 places in buil.prop and i repair or upgrade my phone it doesnt and they say there's an error....
dats y i want entire build.prop from someone who has the same si number..

You have the ftf for that SI? Just extract what you need and make a flashable zip out of it.

Are you repairing with PC Companion ??
I have done what you are doing and "companion" actually will download the firmware for that SI that you had in 3 places in build.prop , and when the installing starts.. THEN it will give you an error.
So you just have to cancel the installation when it gives you the error, and use flash-tool to create your own FTF with the downloaded files, and that FTF will be the one for your SI.

If you had a little searching on XDA..... you would find this

I hope that is a mistype, you need 1261-3755 in build.prop, and it will remain 1261-3755 in build.prop.
Your original SI number from the back of your phone is only for the back of your phone... not for build.prop.

My phone is s-on and bootloader is locked
All you have to do is.
1- Get you phone information via fastboot with this command (fastboot getvar all)
2-Check your getvar info and find the right rom for your phone
3-After finding the right rom download it and rename the zip file to 2PUKIMG.zip
4-Put the 2PUKIMG.zip in root of your sdcard
5-Reboot your phone again with (volume up+volume down+power button) and select hboot option. Flashing proces will start automatically.
6-Dont interrupt flashing proces until it finishes.
7-Reboot your phone and you are done.
