Every time I connect headphones the volume go down at 75%+/- and I need to pump up to maxium.
I use my phone to play music on my car. So I wanted to disable this feature but I don't know where.
I am using poweramp.

I think you are using cm9. CM9 has a new feature where the volume is adjustable when you plug in headphones. It's under Settings-> Sound-> Safe headset volume. From what I know it automatically reduces the volume to 50% when you plug in headphones.

Morning all,
Love this phone, love love love. What I'm worried about though is the in call volume on headphones. Doesn't matter whether I'm using the supplied Samsung ones or a set of Sony ones the volume is so low that the person at the other end is in audible.
I have no problems with volume on anything else (as in music player on in call volume using the actual phone)
Anyone else experiencing this or am I just very unlucky.
I've noticed this too. When having earphones plugged in the call volume is just too low. Last night I had to plug mine out and xall again because I couldn't hear her properly. Good point
Swyped from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
this is absolutely the worst news possible, because i make 99% of all my calls with my headset. you guys are saying it is not usable? most of my calls are on the freeway with loud raod noise.
Post on here somewhere secret codes for volume ++

Not sure about volume with the earpieces with mic that came with the sgs2 but my sony earphones volume was quite low during call. I get calls when I'm listening to music a lot.

this app seems to have fixed it for me give it a try it ups the headset volume over default levels.. works fine for my sgs ii
i think you may need to be rooted to use it but not sure
Does it have HAC mode? Setings > Call settings > HAC mode. I set that on my SGS to increase call volume.
+1 on the issue, will try the apk tmo

I would like to know about the "HAC" mode to, I wear hearing aids in both ears and it's important to me.

I wonder if this is connectd to another very frustrating problem I've just discovered. When I go out running, I normally have Spotify playing in the background and CardioTrainer occasionally prompting me with updates on how badly I'm doing. Worked fine on my old Galaxy S, now I can't hear the updates over the music because they are so quiet. I've tried fiddling with all the settings, and have also tried Endomondo and SportsTracker and they all seem to have the same problem. Anyone else tried this?
Fixed in latest update

Hey champ, you said this was fixed in the latest update but I just got my galaxy last week from Vodafone Australia and mine has this issue. What update fixed yours and does anyone else know about any fixes?
Fixed? In which update?
Hey,
I have this problem on my (sim-less) SGS2, and no update is available.
Any version number?
i'm having the same problem too. i currently use the stock headset, and am thinking of getting a BT headset as i get calls while driving. tried the app, did not help.
can someone one please help? it will be even better if voodoo sound is developed for i9100. *fingers crossed*
yep. same problem here!
Noticed it as well - on headphones Senn PX 100 II - very annoying (have to plug out the phones each time)
Also noticed the volume problem. The overall voice call quality is not great either. Can someone confirm if the apk. fix helped and if it needs the root access?
Is it possible, to use my AUX cable to play music like I always do, but at the same time! Use a bluetooth mini speaker to make the Navigation Voice much easier to hear.
Any ideas?
Rooted, with customer Kernel and Rom.
Yes it is possible only thing is when the next turn comes up it will shut off the music for a few seconds while it finishes the navigation command that is given via voice

So...is this just automatic? How would the phone know to use the bluetooth speaker for just Audio Navigation voice?
After installing the latest CM9 built on my P7510 I noticed that the sound coming from either the speakers or the headphones is very low compared to the official ICS ROM. I tried to adjust it with the DSP Manager but I cannot bring it to the levels of the official ROM. This is a problem particularly when watching movies because even at maximum level the audio is low. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is the a fix? I use pershoot`s CM9 built of 29/09/20212.

lol ...... I have the opposite problem for ganbarou v1.0 as the volume seems to be too high even when I have it at lowest with my headphones which is why I use vodoo sound to decrese the sound while I listen to music. U an use vodoo sound to bring up the sound too beyond default Max ....... so yeah, just install it from play store and give it a try!
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium HD app
I've used an app called Volume+ but it distorts the sound. As for Voodoo, it says that the kernel should have a patch which allows its use but I am not sure if the kernel in CM9 supports that.

OK, I installed the Voodoo volume app and I managed to get a proper sound level. The strange thing though is that the DSP Manager already has this functionality installed but it does not affect the sound. The standalone app however works properly.

Hey!
I find that notification sounds play through the phone speaker as well as the earphones when plugged in. Playing media is fine (audio only through earphones; phone is speaker muted).
Is it possible to mute the phone speaker completely when earphones are plugged in, so that sounds are only played through the earphones?
I am on latest MC3, Speedmod Kernel.
Thanx!

It's not possible in stock, but may be there is costum rom or app for that.
Why does that even bother you?
What if you get sms/email or something important while headphones plugged in and not using?
....because on many occasions, when at work or in the library when you study with music on, that is the whole point of using headphones - you don't want to disturb anyone with beeps and bubbles and chimes.
And when you put your phone to vibrate only / no sound, then you don't get a notification sound at all...
Neak Kernel has turn off speaker sounds when hphone connected .

Thanx.. I might be mistaken, but I cannot find a thread with info on the latest NEAK Kernels for the S3?
Probably no longer posts on XDA .
My version is via a custom rom .

Perseus kernel does this too.

Jj's reccomendation led me to the source page of neak. In the wiki it calls the feature "privacy mode"
Since the dev of neak wrote the boeffla app... I guess that privacy mode is the same as that of neak.
... Which means that any kernel with the sound mod & app... has the feature? Can someone confirm?
Hi Everyone,
I wish that I am posting it in right forums. If not, Please move it to suitable Forums.
I had this problem from the day I bought L9. That is, I faced this problem in Stock ROM, and now I am facing it on CM ROM too.
But, after Googling this problem, I think that this seems to be a very critical problem with all LG Optimus L9 Users, as all the given below Threads actually point to the same problem:
Audio problem headphones
Problem with music listening
Issue with music player
May be these people were not able to explain the problem very well, so I am posting it again. I wish that I would explain at my best.
Problem?
We know that there is a Safe Volume Level in our Android, and it gives some sort of warning like Raise Volume above Safe Level? This may cause hearing problem! Blah Blah!, when we try to increase the volume to Max Level.
When I try to increase the volume to Max level, and suddenly when very High Beats(you know what I mean) come in the music of the song, the Music Player pauses. The Connection of the earphone gets detached from the phone, and it plays the Song in Loudspeaker of phone, when I Resume the song.
So, I have to unplug the Earphone and Plug it again to Listen to it.
This Problem happens with:
My LG Earphones
Other small earphones
My Car Music Player when using an AUX Cable
Music Player at my Gym
This Problem does not happens with:
Steelseries Siberia Headphones
Its so strange to me that the problem is with all earphones, but not with this Gaming Headphone which I have. I just increase the Volume to Max level and it keeps playing it and the beats are awesome with this headphone.
Is the problem related to L9's Hardware? Or there is something with the Output of Audio? I don't know! I am a Noob with this!
So, I request for help as I am, and maybe some other people too, are sick of this problem. PLEASE HELP!
Thank You
Best Regards
no prob with me
I am using skullcandy headphones
and pls upload the song so that i can test that as well

It happens with any song, at maximum volume.
Is it something related to Output of Audio? Maybe it does not give problem with Good Heaphones like your SkullCandy and my gaming headphone of SteelSeries.
Maybe these headphones are able to process very High level sound? Or something else? There must be some solution!
Thanks for your reply!

Although, I can see 90% change with Viper4Android, but still at some extent, when I tried to increase the volume to Max, the music is getting stopped in some high beats song.
FYI, currently I have enabled these settings in Headset settings menu of Viper4Android:
In Master Power, V4A FX is Enabled
In Fidelity control, Viper BASS is enabled
What settings I can alter for more advantage?
Thanks for your help brother :good:
