gameloft games - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi,
im trying to play gameloft games on my phone.
i downloaded and installed six guns and downloaded the additional files which is about 300mb. the problem is the additional files are downloaded to my sd card and i dont have too much space left. i was just wondering how i can move the addidtional files to the internal space (10gb).
alos is there anyway to set the phone to automatically save files like these to the internal space.
thanks

ive tried moving the files with a root explorer but when i load the game it just asks to download the files again because it cant find them on my sd card

You can't just move files/dirs like that. You have to set up symlinks too.
If you don't know how to do that, it might be best if you don't mess around anymore.

isnt there a way i can get the data to automatically save on to my internal storage space?

which rom you use?
In CM (and CM based) roms you can change the storages so that you will be able to use the internal storage as the app storage. notice that it will change the storage settings for all the other apps (For example, the camera storage location will be in the internal instead of the SD card)

You have to download link2sd and go to settings and set install location to external. It works just like adb shell

Works with rooted android.

Download and install titanium backup pro from anywhere you like. Open the program and click on the options button of your phone and click on batch. You'll see a number of operations followed by a run button after each one. Scroll down and you'll see "move all user apps to SD card", click on run and you are done

Without partitioning the SD card, you will always have part of the apps on internal. With partitioning the SD card, you can move the entire apps to SD card.
I just went to gplay (marketplace) and got app2sd. Whether the phone is rooted or not you should be able to move the apps to the sdcard-ext, as long as there is enough room.

Yeah it helps in moving some apps to sd but it doesnt allows you to move all the app to sd. you may need to root you phone in order to move all apps to sd. when i used to use app2sd when i just started using android i used to have around 40 mb internal memory free inspite of moving all the apps that were possible to move on an unrooted phone to sd. I was then inspired to root my phone when i saw its possibilities

How can i make an ext part on my SDcard ???
I am using link2sd and it works like a charm. I have not partitioned my sd card.
TRY THIS
If u have lucky patcher installed on ur device, the version should be 3.9.3, first of all, move ur app or game's data (the very known com.xyz.xxxxx folder) to extsd/android/data or obb by using filemanager , now create that folder with a same name in sdcard or internal sd/android/data or obb/here, which would be like com.xyz.xxxxxx, open lucky patcher v3.9.3 goto toolbox tap directory binder, remember it will not bind the whole sdcard or internal sd , it will work only for particular directory (folder), so no need to worry, now tap on add new directory bind, no tap browse the 1st one, and show it to the path of that extsd/android/data/com.xyz.xxxx folder after that select current directory, now go for browse the 2nd one, goto the internal path should be like sdcard/android/data or obb/com.xyz.xxxx select current directory, now tap on bind directory. thats it, it will save ur sdcrd space. u can check it by setting then storage, i successfully did it in my funbook infinity having 1.5gb internal space available, plays the amazing Spider-Man2 , the dark knight rises, and dead trigger.
I have a rooted but otherwise stock Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (SM-T705) and I have a 128GB Sandisk SD card. Is it possible to move all apps (with all their contents) to the SD card? I read that even though my device is rooted, I will need to partition my SD card first before i can move all apps (with all their contents) to the SD card? Can someone please tell me how to partition my SD card? Also, if I move all apps with all their contents to SD card, would the running of such apps encounter any problems (as part of them are supposed to be in the device internal memory?)
I tried Link2 SD and Titanium Backup Pro but I could not see any such function (only native Android app2sd).
Thank you very much in advance.

(Q) possible to use sd card with fspe?

Is it possible to use the sd card with fspe? Because when I try to load an iso I can't find it.
And if not what the hell am I supposed to do? Put my psx roms on my internal memory what a joke.
What's the point of a quad phone if it doesn't have enough storage to hold the big bad ass games it should be running.
I am now getting put off games because they require large downloads and that shouldn't be the case.
Is this something I could fix with a custom Rom?
Sent from my GT-I9300
First off - that's an app-related issues. Many developers seem to think the location of the external SD is universally the same just because their phone(s) have it that way. Many phones use /mnt/<FOLDER> for external SD and not the old cumbersome format (/mnt)/sdcard/external_sd
If you're rooted, it's easy to solve, just use the free APK "Directory Bind".
For it to work, create a folder named 'external_sd' on your internal SDcard, then bind-mount the /mnt/extSdCard on /mnt/sdcard/external_sd.
Thanks for your quick reply.
If I understand what your saying, will that make my external sd show up as a folder on my internal sd?
If so can I then install games and apps on my external sd?
Sorry I'm pretty dense lol

I assumed the app wouldn't let him go higher up than /mnt/sdcard. Some do that which is quite stupid.
Maybe if he's running an older version but the last few versions at least can find external and any USB drive.
Well I only bought it yesterday off Google play so I am assuming I got the newest version. And no it doesn't let me go any higher.
I'm gonna check out what version it is.
Edit: version 0.11.29 and when I search for bios or iso it does start at system but only shows the internal sd card not the external one
Edit 2: yeah it's in the mnt folders lol, I was tired at the time

[Q] Incredible 4G won't store apps and music on SD Card

Ok, so I have a Incredible 4g. I also have a 32 GB sd card that I use in it. But when i download music from a third party app such as "Music Download Paradise PRO" it stores it on the internal phone storage. Now i am not exactly a N00b with android, and I know that ANDROZIP is a great app to have on your phone. The app tells me I have 4.5 GB of storage which is the size of the built in phone stoage. On the SD card i have about 9 GB free. Also when I plug my phone into the computer and choose disk drive, i get 2 to choose from the HTC built-in storage and the SD card. Is there anything i can do to fix this?

If you move the app from internal storage to your SD card, does it still save music to internal storage?
Settings > Applications > (find Music Download Paradise PRO) > Move to SD card

No, HTC has put a block on this. You can go in the internal storage using Androzip, but when you try to move it to sd_ext then it says "Androzip has stopped working".

Yes, the only two places i can move it are between the phone storage and internal storage, both of which are not the 32 GB sd card.

Oh, yes, this is the case. I'm not sure why I got stuck thinking this would move apps to MicroSD. It moves them to /sdcard/.android_secure. Unless you can find something that works better than Androzip, I believe the earlier suggestion by jose51197 to use a swap-storage-mod is the only option. Sorry to hear you aren't interested in unlocking your phone.

[Q] Problem with Link2SD

I need a little help i have a problem with Link2SD. I assign 500 mb to ext2 partition, and i have all my apps in the sd card, playstore, facebook and 2 others are linked. Well my problem is that, i have a notification for less space in internal storage :/ when i trying to install some new games ( well i have like 5 games installed already on the sd)... So why i have just 19% free space in internal storage if i have all my apps in sd? PD : see the image and sorry my bad english

I've been having a similar problem to the OP. Am I right in thinking you move ALL applications to internal storage, even the ones that install to SD card by default and then link them?

But is this the way to do it? Make sure user apps are are on PHONE before linking?
I'm using LinkSD and it saves me a lot of space in /data.
The way it works :
When installed, an app has three or four parts : the .apk file, the .dex file (in a deodexed ROM), the data folder and, eventually, one or more .so in /data/data/app_folder/lib
- If the app is in internal storage, every parts of it are in /data : .apk in /data/app, .dex in /data/dalvik-cache, data folder and libs in /data/data/name_of_the_app folder
- When the application is moved to sd Card, the .apk file is moved in /mnt/asec/, but the .dex and the data folder remains in internal storage (some applications may also have data in SD Card)
- When the application is linked, the .app, the .dex and the .so files are moved to /data/sdext2 (which is the place where the 2nd partition of the SD Card is mounted), only the data folder (without libs) remains in /data/data (internal storage).
So, the best way to save place in internal storage is to link user applications (no need to move it to internal storage first, it also works when the application is in SD Card).
All my 50 user apps are linked, and I still have 85 Mb free in /data.

Xt1528 - possible to install Google Play apps to sdcard?

Is it possible to install apps to your sd card?
At this point I'm unable to download larger apps (2gb+) due to the smallish internal memory of the phone. An example App is Icewind Dale, I'm able to get the apk and install it, but it will not download obb data to the sd card at all.
Thank you for any help!

What I've observed is that some apps can be moved to SD and some can't. Being rooted and having link2sd helps, and link2sd will let you set the default install path to SD (with root). But some things like Chrome can't be moved. I think it has to do with hard-coded paths in some apps and not others. And then there's the Android 5+ nonsense about not using SD to promote the cloud. Might be worth looking into Ubuntu instead of Android. Sadly, Google is a company making decisions they think will maximize profit. Ubuntu doesn't have a vested interest.
2 gigs for one app, no way would I want such a thing unless I had a terabyte of internal memory. That's bloatware.
