No a custom custom kernel will not remove your ROM, before you flash your chosen kernel read the devs instructions and notes on the brick bug issue. I use the latest siyah have had no problems. Read before flashing there is no rush. All the best

Nope it shouldn't brick your device but Instead of using Odin why not use the safer CWM recovery?

please rephrase your post. It's not clear
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
He meant stock Samsung kernel.
OP: you can't do this, since CM9 needs kernel compatible with AOSP ROMs.
Then is there any way to remove cm9 rom?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
If you want to remove CM9, I am assuming that you wish to replace it with a new ROM. Go through the forum and choose a new ROM and place it in your phone's USB drive or SD card. Then go into ClockWorkMod Recovery mode and Factory Reset/Wipe your device. Then install a new zip and choose the zip file of the ROM you downloaded. If there is any part of this that you do not know how to do, say so and I will give instructions or refer you to one of the many excellent guides that have already been written.
A kernel is essentially only a part of a ROM. So when you flash a new ROM you are flashing a new kernel as well, but when you flash a new kernel you are only changing the kernel section of your ROM, not your entire ROM.

don't use ROM manager to flash anything on your device. It has caused many problems for many people already.
Flash with CWM recovery.
It's very easy to use.
BTW, what's your ROM details?

That was quick.
If iunderstood you properly, your aim is to flash Miui ROM, right?
I'm not sure if you are rooted or even have access to CWM recovery.
Anyway, follow this instruction:
- You will need root access. If you have let me know.
- You will need CWM recovery. If you have, let me know.
- have you found your desired miui ROM? If yes, post the link to the Rom thread
- why do you want to flash an miui ROM, is it because it looks like an iPhone? If yes, there may be other alternatives.
Waiting for your response.

on Xda, you cannot ask for ROM recommendation. Questions like that go through PM. If you want me to recommend you any ROM, send me a PM.
My aim is to help you install/flash your desired Rom safely.

Thanks for clearing that up! if you don't mind could you link me to the NFC patch? and does this have to be supported by the ROM/kernel or will it work on any ROM/kernel/android version?

Just follow the instructions on the first page of the CM-thread.
There isn't a stable version (yet), so so don't expect a full working rom without any (minor) bugs if you install CM10.2.
Blazing kernel is for i9100G. If you don't have an i9100G steer well clear of blazing kernel.

Then don't go for Cyanogenmod, because it's still under development. Why don't you flash a Samsung based custom rom? Maybe it's wiser to start with, and if you get a little familiar with all this, you can go for roms like CM.
Edit: make sure you flash the right ones, so for the I9100G!

I'm not really familiar with the I9100G and the available roms, but I assume you can see for yourself (if you read the threads) what people like and don't like about a rom. The choice is up to you, because everybody got his/her own preferences
