Xperia U vs Xperia Sola - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hey guys I just wanted to know which phone you think is better. From what I can tell, the key difference is the resolution (not much of a difference), the build and the memory. I'm not too bothered by the U's 4 GB of memory. Coming from an ace, I've survived on a 2 GB SD card with 150 MB of app storage and 200 MB ROM. Are there any other very important differences? If not I'm probably going to get the sola; it's S$50 cheaper here.

Go for the sola.
U get superior phone for less money

But the battery of sola is not removable. If you bootloop your sola you will think twice! But in other side, Xperia sola has SDCARD slot.
But Xperia U has sharper screen than Sola, and the illumination bar is cool!

OK thanks guys But how are they when comparing battery? I've read issues of the Xperia sola draining due to a linux bug.

I took U and im fine, because they are 2 gb reserver for apps so you wont need to move them to sdcard but its you choice.

Both are same in terms of features but Sola has .2inch bigger screen and Micro sd card slot on other hand Xperia U has better looks, Front facing camera, sharper screen, colored strip and removable battery.

Go for U, if you don't need sd card slot

i got a sola for two reason:
1. sd slot: i used to have a lot of music on my phone so i need a sd
2. larger screen: sola is 3.7" and U 3.5"

If you've survived with 2 GB of in your SD, having 4 GB in the U will be better for you, plus you get 2 GB for apps. Good, spacious SD cards are expensive, so if you just put your old SD card in the Sola, you're not much better off. The size difference is negligible in my opinion, and I think the removable battery is a plus for the Xperia U. I'd pick the U.

One awesome thing the Sola has that the U doesn't: NFC!

Reason :
1.NFC support (smart tags)
2.Bigger Screen 0.2
3.Internel 8G+cardslot up to 32G
4.Nice body
5.Floating touch
6.Xperia sola is thiner
7.Light weight
Esp: xperia u have only 4G of storage that make me suck!!! I just can't get enough
Sent from my MT27i using xda premium

I would go for Sola. It has got a bigger display, which is better for browsing and watching movies. Plus, you can expand your memory by a micro SD card slot. It also has a "Floating Touch", which is quite useless for me at the moment, but it is quite futureproof.

Xperia U might take the cake there. Two of my friends have it and after some use, here's my thoughts - if you need a good Sony phone with expandable memory, Sola is the choice but since you have already mentioned about not being bothered by U's memory, go for the U. Sharper screen, better battery, cool NXT design with colour changeable illumination bar and a nice 8 megapixel camera. Though by slimness, Sola is better but the U beats it overall for me. Identify your usage and take your pick

Definitely sola s better. But if u wanna cheaper phone get U. But lemme tell u External sd plays a major part n u may regret not getting sola

Xperia U camera is 5MP.

Xperia U is NXT series
NFC isn't really useful, I mean, someone steals your phone then you are going to loose all your money. Oh, wait, you need to enter a PIN -> I would rather swipe my card and enter my PIN.
Screen is bigger, but lower ppi on the Sola.

well flash is good but if the light is low and the object is say - 5-6 meters away the flash will be of no use - I had some photos made today - and the images seemed with little detail and lots of noise on the WT19i ... this is why I asked if it could be fixed with some rom or app ? I am trying to find which is better the WT19i or the Wildfire S.
maybe a software issue :? also they had this yellowish color to them (could be a faulty headset) ?

LWW is better than Mini?! Funny words. Does LWW have Sony Bravia Engine? Does LWW have LED-Backlit? LWW's physical size is just 0.2 inch bigger than Mini (Overplus) and LWW has front camera (Have you ever used that?). Besides, LWW's Pixel Denisty is 180 and Mini's is 192. And... I would never buy LWW because of its design; I love Mini's design (Personal Idea). I just didn't spot weight.

Xperia U Game Comaptability

Hi guys I'm planning on leaving my little wildfire and get a xperia U but i would like to find out two things:
1.Are the following games/apps compatible with xperia u?
Temple Run
Modern Combat 3
Fifa 12
Brothers in arms 2
Skype
Instagram
2. Would you recommend xperia u to me or shall i go for another phone(if so please specify)
Thank you so much for taking your time reading this!
Yes ... All of them are compatible..
Pros -
1. High resolution ( 280 ppi ) so no pixelation
2. Powerful dual core 1 GHz and Mali 400 MP Gpu
3. Bravia engine
Cons.
1.no sd card support.. You are stuck with 4 GB
2. Poor speakers .. Audiophiles will have a let down..
3. Less RAM 350 MB EFFECTIVE..
4. Uninspiring design..
A better catch would be Sony live with walkman with extremely incredible sound .. Thanks to dual speakers and xloud... Specs are same as xperia u except for cores, screen and resolution... But plus point .. It had sd card support...
Others phone to consider are Huawei g300 and Motorola defy +..

I have WT19i and I would not buy it again.
Why: bad screen (blur effect) makes games look ugly
low resolution (some of best games not working)
you need few times to put headphones in to get them recognized
really laggy ICS update, you cant play anything on it!!!
If you dont need more than 4 gb storage go for U,if you need SD Card go for Sola with is 50 Euro more expensive any little more ugly.
Anyway its your choice.
EDIT: Xperia U does not have 350 mb of ram but 512 and will also get 3.0 kernel with ICS update.
EDIT2: All games you said works for me.
EDIT3: Apps works to.
Relax bro .. I'm not compelling him to buy walkman... Ha ha.. Yep you're right .. Sometimes low res. Seems frustrating .. But I haven't experienced major lags so far .. Also speaker quality is awesome .. You agree with me right ? Hmmm...
I know u has 512 MB RAM , but system apps also take some bites.. So we get ~ 350 MB EFFECTIVE.... Btw thanks for your reply ...

Yes speakers are awsome but sound output are not, when I connect it to speaker my Ipod 2g gives better and louder sound than WT19i.

Play Store said NOVA 3 wasn't compatible with my Xperia U until I updated my ST25a (6.0.B.1.564) through flashtool with the 6.0.B.3.184 ST25i firmware (which made it a ST25i for Play Store) so both the update and the "re-branding" could be the reason I have access to apps i didn't have before.
all those apps work, including nova 3 and most hd games. skype works fine with video calling. love my xperia U. go for it.
DO NOT buy htc one V. nice phone, but cant play hd games, and lags alot after a few days... plus headphones quality on xperia U is great, and with mods amazing! also, dual core and mali400 gpu is a HUGE advantage, and with scripts u have effective arround 6gb of space to use.
and 300+ ram is good enough. as long as ur phone dosnt lag and u can play hd games, whats the difference?
They all work great without any lags on xperia u...and no matter what..don't go for htc one v as you get many more features in xperia u at the same rate!!

Xperia U or Xperia Ray

hello guys
sorry for posting this but i am rly confused and i hit this place coz it perfect place in android world and i rly want help
since my last phone ruined RIP moto K1 ,, i rly wanna try android and i cant find better than sony ( best camera and best design )
and when i try to pick a one i stopped at X-ray and x- U coz both has same price in my country and thats the limit i can reach
so now i am confused coz both are awesome both have cons ! .
so wat do u think guess ,, PS i dont care about 4G storage in U coz i guess its fine for me .
is any one try both and if any one which one u recommend ??
sorry for my english

If it just by the looks, I would pick Xperia Ray.
Other than that, Xperia U has a bigger screen, better hardware, better battery life (according to official, usually inflated, figures), and it is also a newer release, meaning that it has better posibilities of getting JB or further updates. The downside is its limited storage, but since you don't care, it's fine.
Camera is basic on both phones. Ray features a 8.1mp camera, meanwhile the U features a 5.0mp camera. But those numbers alone don't mean much.
Although I own Xperia ray, I recommend you to buy Xperia U if you fine with 4GB storage. Dual core phone has become trend nowaday. I also will move to Xperia 2012 phone.

If you r ok with 4 gb storage then go for Xperia U..i see the Xperia U better on all sides except for memory and camera....i was not cool with 4gb storage so I went with Xperia P.. And I think the camera on Xperia Ray is better than Xperia U...
But hey it's all up to the users needs..if you think you need performance then go for XU... If you think you need big storage and better camera go for Ray...
Decision is yours to make...

if you like custom roms you might go better with Ray, but the U has more power and might even get official JB from Sony. I'm also pretty sure that the FXP team will soon release CM for U.

Better XU! Xray screen is too narrow (3,2 inch). Very not comfortable.
XU has dualcore processor!
XU has crisper screen than ray
XU has better GPU than ray
XU has larger screen than ray
XU's design is more cool than ray
etc..
But Xperia ray has better camera (8 MP with Exmor R sensor) than XU! and xperia ray has slim body than XU.

Hey guys.
I currently own an xperia Mini and I want to upgrade to a new phone. I am confused between Xperia U and Xperia Sola. Kindly tell me which phone is good between these two. I'm a bit leaning towards sola because of expandable storage. I want your opinions. sorry if I posted in wrong section but I think here I can get responses from sola as well as xperia U users.
thanks.

well, i don't really care about jelly bean since we all will get jelly bean eventually from our kind developers here at XDA.
hello
In hardware is similar, xperia u has better resolution, but xperia sola have external storage, xperia u have front camera and nice ilumination bar, for mi xperia u is more beatiful
If you need more storage go for sola

Go for Sola, it has floating touch + expandable memory and I think it also has some sort of notification light below the display (like Xperia Miro).
The U only has 4GB + front camera + colorful bar.

Wether to move from Xperia Arc S to Xperia Go?

Hello dear XDA users, I'm wondering wether i should move from the Arc S to Go.
I have saved sufficient money to buy an Xperia Go and would like your suggestions.
I would like to know the problems Xperia Go user are facing...
Here's a good and bad thingy (Please tell me if i'm wrong)
Goods :
1. A dual core processor
2. Small size
3. Good battery life (?)
4. 512 of RAM
5. Has NFC
6. WATERPROOF
Bad :
1. Screen resolution is low
2.Non-removable battery
3. No HDMI
Thank you very much!
No its not a good idea...
I understand u get bored from ur device
Nut moving to xperia go is not a good idea..
Go for xperia p or xperia ion insted...
Go is poor...
U hav used 1gb ram in arc s and in go u will find only 512mb too low...
Plus poor screen..
Plus jellybean not arrived yet+ low development compared to xperia ion or xperia s..
I'll not suggest for xgo
Better save sum more money and get X ion ..
If u want to go for sony...

How about Sola?
ther is not NFC in xGo
ICS lags so much without rooting, tweaking, and removing garbage. I bought mine because I needed a sweatproof phone.
Tapped on a not-so-stock ST27i ICS.
Save ur money for xperia p, 1g ram and high res display

No plz don't go for
These
Go for xperia p..
Or htc dezire x
Atleast u will get 756mb ràm + 4" display..
Atleast better than sola and go.
And sorry I got confused with the xperia arc s ram..
