Why not a tutorial of what exactly to modify in systemui, framework etc? Or links to them if they already exist, so the DIY crowd over here (getting pretty large recently ) can, well, do it themselves?
Anyone tested it? Does the scroll thing works?

because the systemui and framework have been decompiled starting from 25/08 version.
If those 2 files are identical over the last builds (I doubt that) than it can be used also on older builds.
OP Updated:
This will work with older quarx's builds (from 12/08 --->). Also, may work on Epsylon's builds as well.
I just tested the center clock and smoothscroll mod, working just fine, but i noticed that after applied the center clock mod, a gray stripe showed up behind the clock when you pull down the notificaiton bar, also I noticed that the battery percentage font turn smaller.
Same issue I got in aokp too

Improve speed performance of the device but it have limited impact on graphic performance. It's better if you make sio active on bootmenu

Center clock works great on 2508+!
Will you make those for every future nightly?
It works very well on 25/08!
But, it would not be bad, if you can write a tutorial as well.
Thanks in advance.

thanks i will test on 2808 quarx
could you please post a DIY guide on the scrollingcache disabling pls? im on the newest nightly, dont want to go back just to try this out.
and i dont think wiping cache/dalvik on every boot is a good thing, this makes boot very slow (the os has to rebuild the cache for every app on startup, which takes a loong time if you use a lot of apps). there is no need for regenerating cache on the same build over and over again.
Very nice mods.
Thanks! :cyclops:
28/08
It works well on 28/08 QCMX, as well.
I am looking forward to reading your guide.

Very easy, just get the store froyo rom, open it with 7zip.
go to \system\app and get the file called Launcher2.apk
Then:
Start you phone with hold+trackball mode.
in cmd:
adb remount
adb push Launcher2.apk /system/app/Launcher2.apk
adb shell rm /system/app/ADWLauncher.apk
If more people need this I can make a tutorial a install.zip.
You can also just push launcher of your choice with adb , command would look like that.
I replaced ADW with Launcher Pro had to rename to same filename and then push.
adb push Launcher.apk /system/app/Launcher.apk

Here is my method:
1) Make sure You have JDK, Android SDK installed.
2) Get http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=744409&stc=1&d=1318162089
3) Unpack contents to C:\ApkTools
4) Copy your apk to this folder
5) Drag it on apktool-d.cmd. This will decompile your apk and will create new folder with unpacker resources.
6) Modify resources. For example in C:\ApkTools\SystemUI\res\drawable-hdpi folder.
7) Drag whole apk folder on apktool-b.cmd. This will compile modified apk and will create subfolders dist and build.
8) Open your original apk with archiver (WinRAR for example) and drag/replace there modified compiled resources from build folder (C:\ApkTools\SystemUI\build\apk\res\drawable-hdpi) and resources.arsc file (C:\ApkTools\SystemUI\build\apk).
9) Save this archive as apk.
10) Strongly recommended to ZipAlign this apk
it works
I've tried Embo & it works like a charm.
Thanx a ton.

I want to make it clear. All mods with such functionality are based on rover.prince's mod. He ported it from X10 but did it not very well. There is bug with sync icon and some reports of battery drain. Until he will fix this or somebody else more skilled will make correct port, we will have what we have now.
My role: I am a designer/modder, not a developer. I am the author of graphic appearance of this mod (icons, backgrounds, etc.). I did this for X10 and I did this for Arc when this mod had appeared. I see dozen mods with my icons (Classic, Black or whatever they call it) but nobody gives the credit to my work! This thing always annoyed me at XDA! People take others work, make little cosmetic changes and release it as their own. People! Let's respect each other. It's not that hard!
It Works for Xperia Ray too Many Thx
Work as well! Thank you so much!

Nintendolinky Stock Super Rom
After hours and hours of work, I have finally created what I believe to be a stable rom, that suites me and I think will suite a lot of other people.
Its a stock rom, with many tweaks and additions that don't impact or take away from the stock view that I have envisioned.
Im very very inexperienced in all this custom rom making and to be honest this is my first major go at making one, The rom has been tested on 14 SGS2 phones as of writing, and works flawlessly on all of them.
Out of all the Samsung Hubbs I only kept the Social Hub, I decided on this as I like adding my facebook account and thats all, the other hubs are redundant any way.
Samsung Apps was kept so I could continue to download Asphalt 6 HD, NFS Hot Pursuit and Modern Combat 2 for free.

Well, I see most of your mods, are just collected from different ROMs over XDA, which also means you would want to mention credits to all original creators, and also move this thread to the other development section.

Kudos to your honesty
Mate,
Thank you for the honest,to the point no nonsense and completely genuine approach towards your hard work. XDA was meant to nourish people like you and it needs more people like you. Keep up the good work and spiritand you'll make it to the original section one day
Cheers! And im gonna try your ROM
Congrats, man!
After seeing a lot of ROMs with reflections, colors, glass effects and all those - IMHO - crap, yours looks really nice =)
Thanks guys, thats the reason why i created it, just great simple stock looking rom, with some nice extras that I really think people will appreciate. Thanks guys.
I think I may have spotted a bug. The screenshots in the first post, show it as being sunny in Wakefield... I dont think this can be correct.
Ha ha mate, that's true, its bloody freezing also.
Well, i want to try this rom but there is something wrong with the installation.
I am trying through CWM but after finding update package... Opening update package... it says: E: Can't open /emmc/GT-I9100. Nintendolinky_XILA2.zip (bad)

Edit:
i don't found errors in the log of ur app.
Defy mit Android 4.0.4 CM9 RockZ
Tried it on Fuzz 06/19 and Epsylon 06/17 Regular Defy, and does nothing when I Hit Save button.
But thank you for your efforts, it will be really awesome if we could have it working on Defy Builds
BTW, when you get saving fixed, you should make your app use setprop too, to make restarts unnecessary.
Great Idea to make that even possible
Big thanks for the effort
ok, thanks.
But can you try to load /data/local.prop before /system/build.prop please? The /data/local.prop file will not overwritten on each new CM9 flash like the build.prop. It should also work without reboot for normal apps.
Option to switch between blacklisting and whitelisting would also nice. For me everything seems working with whitelist=0 and blacklist only for youtube and google play.
save doesnt work for now, file date is unchanged after changeing list and save.
cheers
Some permission problems lead to inactive save. Now it should work
I tried using setprop but it doesnt seem to have any effect. If anyone can give more insight into setprop it would be nice
It works great now on Fuzz build.
BTW I dont think that process names should be separated with ":" in build.prop, I think that it has to be separated with "."
Any info on that pls?

Separation with ":" is the right way
Thank you, just installed v 1.1 on Fuzz rom, it's almost working, the save button works fine, but after reboot, the selected apps are still checked, but nothing changed
Edit: sorry, worked great, i had to delete local.prop, and the changes on build.prop took effect
The interface is pretty nice and the app is working fine for me, on Quarx's build. Thanks a lot.
However I can't have the colour gradient on settings menu after selecting System UI option and restarting the device. Even editing the build.prop file manually. How can I be sure if the HWA is working for System UI?
So, I'm not blaming the app. Sorry if is a bit off topic. Thanks again.
Works perfect on my defy+ with fuzz 16/06/2012
Thanks a lot
I will recommend u to add a about page with ur details so no one steals it!

I had problems with your app in defy+ fuzz build. I enabled hwa for some apps and Dolphin Browser Started to work bad so I fall back and enabled only the stock browser like it was at default. That broke my system and i had to reflash the rom...

Xperia xUX.
FINAL version.
for Gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.62
Well, hello again, fellows!
Just joking. I was improving and changing theme in a lot of ways.
In the end it looks like a nice(In my opinion at least ) hybrid of Xperia NXT interface, ICS interface and GB interface.
With some things exclusively from me.
Q: On what Android I should install this?
A: On Gingerbread 2.3.4 build 4.0.2.A.0.62. Installing on ICS will result in a bootloop.
Installing on 2.3.4 v42 is NOT recommended, as it may result in a number of random bugs, like disappearing of statusbar.
Q: How do I shot web...emm...how do I install Xperia xUX?
A: Just flash it from Recovery. It should work.
If not, do the following:
1) Wipe /system folder.
2) Do a clean install of stock Gingerbread or Repack 4PDA(I recommend installing this, because I based my mod on this ROM and because it's fastest ROM I've ever seen).
3) Start the phone normally.
4) Make sure everything's working.
5) Reboot to Recovery.
6) Install my mod.
7) It should work now.
UPD: Just tried again.
It works 100%! Installation on Stock GB works, installation on Repack 4PDA does the trick too.
So follow this instruction!
Q: What does this mod include?
A: Well...137'$ see!
-Updated graphics - your phone will look COMPLETELY different!
-Some usability improvements, like Swipe-to-Remove-Notification made by Hansip87, switch track with volume rocker made by 7OH(but ported to this mod by me, this wasn't a piece of cake, believe me)
-Awesome Xperia bootanimation.
-New charging animation
-% on battery
-Switchers in notification pulldown
-Kill apps by long-pressing BACK button(which can be turn off)
-ICS style settings.
-And some others...

okay, will try it ASAP..
is it stable for KIK Messenger?
for screenshoot, it must use ascreenshoot application or have any built in screenshoot?
What kernel you (suggested) to use?
oh
this is GB or ICS btw?

Ah man! I knew I forgot something!
It's for GB version 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Kernel? Any, as soon it's compatible with 4.0.2.A.0.62. I use Aire kernel.
KIK Messenger? If it's stable on stock 4.0.2.A.0.62, it should be stable on 4.0.2.A.0.62 with my mod. The changes in framework I've done wasn't so groundshaking to case instability in apps

You're installing it on Gingerbread 62?
I can confirm the bootloop too unfortunately, tried on .62 and .69.
The folders structure and updater-script are arranged in an odd way. Why not have only 2 folders in the zip? META-INF and system, inside system put everything and in the updater-script just put a line to mount system and flash everything at the same time, not folder by folder.
Hmm...

Hmm, I've got bootloop too. Weird. I'll have to dig deeper into this.
Freezing the thread 'till best times. I'll reupload this when I'll solve bootloop problem.
Hey, it seems like I've solved the bootloop problem!
I'll upload the new version today at the evening(according to time at Moscow) or tomorrow. More probably I'll do it tomorrow.
delete this post
how do I delete post
I once used this mod with this rom REPACK4PDA v7 and it worked.
Yeeeeeeah! Finally! It's alive! ALIVE! >
Seriously, the problem of bootloop was solved extremely easy.
It's not like the mod is corrupted, no.
It's because I forgot to sign Recovery ZIP -_-
I've tried like seven times to install this mod on stock GB, on REPACK4PDA, and it works flawless.
So please download!
Great job
after some few adjustments, this mod works on my arc.
bootlooping
on stock gingerbread .62 rom
UPDATE: Not working even after full wipe
DELETE THIS THREAD
Posted instruction which should solve bootloop problems.
I am so sorry for not doing this earlier...I swear I've got it working without bootloop on clean GB, but today I tried to re-install it...boot-f***ing loop! @*&%!
Looks like it's because I've made really significant changes in framework and android.policy.jar.
But if you follow my instruction, everything should work fine!
Thanks @Dr.Alexander_Breen
You Rock (if you suceeed)
Perfect when mixed with REPACK4PDA v7. Impressive battery life and great performance! A rom and mod worth using daily! Keep it up!! Waiting for further updates!!
