If I flash a boot.img it say's 1 bad block encountered well first I was like 'whatever' but the lasted CM9/CM10 release have 7MB + boot.img files so I seem to be unable to flash them because of the bad block (got black screen). [Q] xperia wont start up

hello,
im having a issue with my phone. i have installed CWM on it and i was just looking for roms. first i installed MIUI Rom which i didnt like.. so after that i did a full wipe and then installed another rom which is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1955630 this one
and now...i think that i can throw away the phone. it wont boot/start up. if i press the power button it just vibrates ones and then it looks like it dies again. the red dot on the top right shows up for like 3 seconds even if i am recharching it right now. i cant go in the CWM menu either. i tried a battery remove trick, that didnt help either. what did go wrong when i was installing the rom? when it was done installing it. it just didnt want to starting up again..
please help.. i don't wanna throw away 200 euros..
Thread moved to Q&A
Please post in the correct section next time

Once u have the ftf file and flashtool
Install flashtool in any drive lets say c drive
Go to c / flashtool / firmware
In the firmware folder place ftf file
Now go to c / flashtool / driver
And install driver for xperia u
Now open flashtool
( make sure ur device is off and not connected to ur pc)
Click on thunder icon
Select flashmode
Select ftf file
Check on exclude ta
Also check no final verification
Now click flash
Flashtool will ask u to Connect phone
Now pick up ur SWITCHED OFF phone, press the VOLUME DOWN button... Keep the volume down button pressed.. And connect the usb to ur phone
Flashing will start ( once flashing starts leave the volume down button) and let it finish

Can't Enter Recovery

So yea I've rooted my Xperia Neo and want to install a custom ROM but I cant enter recovery,
I've tried:
- Quick Boot (Via playstore)
- ROM Manager
- Tried all the button-pressing combinations
- ADB + SDK
But nothing works... and I'm at my wits' end... :crying::crying::crying:
Did you try reading the stickies..
There is no default recovery on stock, flash a custom kernel or install cwm yourself, the how to for both is in the stickies

I'm not sure if I've unlocked the bootloader, I tried unlocking it via the steps in the sony ericsson help website and when I use SDK cmd it doesnt recognize 'bootloader.exe' or 'bootloader' or 'fastboot' as a command.
When you say all 3 buttons, which buttons do you specifically mean? - power, vol +, vol -?
BTW, just as a reminder, my phone is Rooted with SU and Rom Manager installed.
I've googled for hours and reading threads - but it's still super difficult for me.
I tried SDK, and it went as far as recognizing my device in fastboot mode.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409269
Try CWM installation guide given in the above thread....its a command script... after u extract the zip ..read the instructions carefully..
After installation reboot and keep pressing the volume button down to enter recovery.... this method always works for me..

it is worth noting that my bootloader is still LOCKED (ASSUMINGLY - because I havent unlocked it), AND ALSO that my phone is rooted, I only need to go to recovery.
Question:
Can I still flash/boot custom ROM WITH the BOOTLOADER LOCKED?
if u have installed cwm correcly do as i said. the buttons are back, home, menu buttons. but this is only if u have stock rom and kernel, if u hace custom kenel then it is volume down lots of time until it boots cwm

I'd use the thanks button when I deem it fit.
Because my problems not solved yet, I can't install the ADB drvers. and my laptop detects my phone as it's name , not as 'other device'.
So I can't install the ADB files hence nothing works.

This has been asked many times before.
Anyway Sony 2011s have a different partition scheme which makes boot partition accessible only in fastboot.
So you have to carry on with flash tool I guess

it's not possible on sony phones
as they don't have a recovery partition
it can done on samsung phones
The thread which Lone linked says it all
Nothing more to be added
And no point n discussing further
Plus I said so cos the ones in those thread are all RC n RD or pretty experienced (Not goin by title, but by my personal experience with them when they were active in our own forum)so we as end users do not have any other alternative for our Sony phone!
