Hello, Can someone tell me if there is an APP I can download to my Samsung Fascinate so that I can use T9 Texting. I do not like the Swype, and I want to be able to text with one hand, and the Swype is not that accurate. I just don't like the QWERTY keypad. I just want the touch screen T9 like I had on my LG Dare (that died or I would not be having this problem)
The keyboard app I use has a T9 mode with lots of settings, although I don't ever use the T9 mode myself. I absolutely love the keyboard though, it's the only one that I can stand to use. Smart Keyboard Pro is the name of it.

I have tried a couple of keyboards but im always end up uninstalling them and end up with the standard keyboard. I was hoping to find one with larger letters but not in a phone format. Any Suggestions?

Is anyone else using the iphone keypad on the Titan XV6800. It might also be the pcm version that i am using. I believe i have version .14. But the keypad shows so large that the keyboard is squeezed together and takes up the entire screen

Keyboard layout:
Eng htctoucher more
keyboard skin:
htctouch iphone
It does not take up the screen as you described and the keys are notice and touchable...
The best SIP (on screen keyboard) program or way of doing things I've found is the following:
Install NullKB so you have a SIP that wont' bring up anything.
Install the Diamond keyboard .cab's.
Install NueSlidingKB. Set the Portrait SIP to the Diamond KEYPAD, set the landscape to NullKB.
That way when you open the phone, the stupid SIP doesn't pop up when you touch forms, since you have a hardware keyboard open..
And when you're in portrait, you use the Diamond's KEYPAD. This is a t9 enabled phone pad with big buttons. It allows you to type onehanded like a normal phone. It works AWESOME. Very easy to text onehanded. Has easy switching to symbols or numbers too.
The Diamond's QWERTY KEYBOARD is also good as far as on screen keyboards go, but the keypad is MUCH faster to use onehanded and I leave it as the default.

I agree, that is what I use 95% of the time myself.
I also like Resco Pro & SPB Full Screen KB.

Hi Folks
I've been looking for an alternative to the HTC Touch keyboard.
I generally use the keyboard in Phone Keypad(T9) format but the Touch keypad tends to lag a bit sometimes.
I'm looking for something that works exactly the same as the Phone Keypad but doesn't lag.
Everything else i have downloaded from the market is Qwerty only. I can type much faster with the Phone Keypad with predictive text than qwerty.
so far i've tried:
Anysoftkeyboard
Better Keyboard 8
Gingerbread Keyboard
Keypurr
SlideIT
Thick buttons
But none of these have a decent Phone Keypad(T9) format, they are all qwerty or variations of qwerty.
Any help appreciated!
try "smart keyboard". i m using smart keyboard, and have not even felt the need for any other keyboard.
Cheers for that i've donwloaded it and its seems ok so far but can't give a full assessment without the english dictionary.
But the pro version with the English dictionary cost £1.68! Bit steep for an app which i cant try fully b4 i buy.
Most Apple apps are £0.59p!
Better Keyboard 8 has phone T9 layout!
Tried all the ones on the market, they all have good points but none are perfect. If you took all the good points from all of them u would have the perfect keypad but at the moment the Sense keypad still out does them all.
It just feels better and has a much better dictionary setup and just more user-friendly.
Just the stupid lag which i have to put up with. Mind u the other keypads also had occasional lag but i think its just to do with the phone, it simply can't multi-task.
Just installed a modded HTC keyboard. There are in fact 3 keyboard styles in one installation: full qwerty, compact qwerty (2 letters per key with XT9 system) and dialpad (T9). Got it here:

I chose the high resolution version for Froyo and it works great. It's got many languages and also English speech-to-text which works remarkably well. Too bad it's not available in the other languages. The only disadvantage over Swype I found so far is switching between languages which takes an extra keypress because you have to go into the menu. The Swype keyboard has a direct key for this.
I used the compact qwerty keyboard for many years on my Windows Mobile smartphones. Swype works ok but it is just more prone to errors, at least with me. So having HTC's keyboard in Android really made my day.
The keyboard is skinnable but I can't be bothered because the standard look is fine for me.
I'm using it as well since I got defy. if you want to quickly switch languages there's a settings voice where you can assign that function to the volume buttons .
Sent from my MB525
Went through the settings again today and I switch through languages with left and right swipes now. Also disabled the languages I don't use.
The volume button now moves the cursor which is a huge improvement on a phone without a track sensor! I love this keyboard even more.
Nice job man
this is great , i was longing for one. tried a lot on winmo 6.1 but couldent get it
i have keyboard like n73 or n95 !!
pls send private msg
thx
Hey all,
I am trying to find a keyboard I can get on with that predicts well, and doesn't lag when typing.
The built in samsung keyboard is ok, but with prediction on it lags a bit and I hate the way the text in the message thread goes up and down, up and down as you type and the keyboard brings up the list of words.
Swype built into the phone is ok, but it messes up my words if i'm typing too fast, and as I can't install the new version to tap out my messages, this one isn't the best.
As for others, i've tried swiftkey x beta, and it lags, the HTC I_mod keyboard crashes in email, smart keyboard pro lags.
The only things I definitely want, are dedicated comma and full stop keys, a dedicated smiley key, and no lag! I would love to get rid of the mic key but thats not so important.
Anyway, hope someone can recommend something.
Cheers
Biff.
try the gingerbread keyboard from the market. i used to use the free version and it was great but i upgraded to the pro version because i wanted to be able to change the size and spacing of the keys. no lag, you can set it to show/hide the comma and period keys too. on my current version when the keyboard is on screen i can press the phone's menu button and one of the options is to add a smiley. when you select that a big list pops up with the smiley pictured so it is easy to pick the right one. i used to use it on my atrix and loved it and works even better on the gs2

Hey Biffsmash
I've also been looking for a great keyboard for my SGS2 but recently I found Smart Keyboard, which is the best keyboard I've ever tried.
It is extremely customizing so you can change almost everything you want.
Size of buttons, control cursor with the volume buttons, gestures(swipe left, right, up, down), very intelligent dictionary that learn your world automatically, calibration to get the most precisely touch, customize buttons, themes, and MUCH more!
The downside of the keyboard is that it cost money, but it is a small cost and IMO it is nice to support the developer for a such good application. The Danish dictionary is also pretty small, but thanks to the smart and intelligence dictionary it doesn't really matter for me Try it!
Best regards;
Rallerbabz.

Good morning,
First of, I did use GOOGLE and the search button on here but couldn't get my answer. So, here I am.
Ok, I like both Samsung and Google keyboards, but on Samsung keyboard, I installed my national language so I can talk to my dad and it is perfectly working for me. However, when I type English, I prefer Google keyboard because it does not predict with the mix of my language like the Samsung and screw up my typing.
On the Google keyboard, I can simply hold the space bar and the keyboard switching window pops up and let me choose other keyboard.
My question is, can I setup the Samsung keyboard to have the same effect so I can switch back and forth between the keyboards without going through the setup menus ?
Thanks!
