[Q] Question about flashing Mediapad EX Kernel - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

Hi ,
I tried to post my question in bart594 Mediapad EX kernel theme but I have under 10 post in forum so I don't have permissions to post in dev section.
My question is what does it mean that bart594 Mediapad EX kernel does not support CM9?
I am with CM9 and want to flash it , is it possible ?
Sorry for my poor English

Sir, you can change wallpaper by long tapping on home sceen, a menu will pop up , select wallpapers or gallery based on where your desired wallpaper is. I didn't get the colour stuff? If you mean that you want to change the ROM's colour then you cannot do that through a wallpaer, you need to download a theme which has the desired colors and apply the theme via Theme Manager
And yes, you can also change the wallpaper via settings menu

Thanks for your reply. I searched for all the roms, and know what search button means. I found lots of roms, thats why I am asking people to help me. Maybe my title is not correctly expressed and sorry about posting this question again, if it irritates you.

Sir, please cool down, it's ok. We need to give time to new people/members to adapt to XDA. I am not going against you sir, you are elder to me so whatever you say is right. But, XDA is all about helping each other, if someone is in trouble and doesnt know how to go about, then we shouldnt mind
in my opinion. now is the best and setabil is "TheMyth ICS - Lite"
this one is great CRe.ActiveX RC1 Barebones Based on CM7.1 Grif_07 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414779
Hi,
I tried almost all ROMs in the development pages but I like the best ICS final with SlainModFast v2.5 with the new kernel(blackhawk - ketut). I had no reboots, no freezes no problems. I also run the JuiceDefender on balanced and improves the battery life. And I like the ADW launcher that is included in the ROM.(tried GO, Launcher Pro and some others).
I am a big fan of Grif's CM7 and Ketut's oc kernel... those guys deserves monies!
need kernel with vpn support Android 2.3.5
Hey guys,
flashed today the ace to the Android 2.3.5 via odin.
have now these figures:

Kernel [email protected]#1
gingerbread.xwks2
have read in this forum that per default in samsung's kernel there is no vpn support compiled in so that that i am not able to use vpnc to connect to company's vpn (cisco based).
maybe an option is to update to Android 2.3.6 stock rom, but i think same sh** no vpn support compiled in...
Need a 2.6.35.7 Kernel with additional vpn support nothing more like overclocking etc. Which kernel are you recommended and how do i update only the kernel via odin, too???
many thanks for your replies.

CM9 and CM10 look and work like original android. (ICS and JB respectively)
MIUI rewrote just about the entire user-interface and several of the standard apps to give a different user-experience, but MIUI itself is built on top of Android.
If you've tried CM9 or 10, then there's no harm in trying out a MIUI rom either and see how you like it.
If you make a backup in CWM first you have your phone back working like it is now by just doing a restore.
MIUI v4 ROMS are based on ICS so you use them with the nAa ICS kernel.

Try This by Resac, and read the follow-up posts too for some tips on MIUI specific stuff.
The first time you install MIUI it can take a long time to boot (up to 5 or more minutes) so be patient. Have fun

Miui 3.11.22 (v5)

Hey guys!
I am trying to use MIUI V5 3.11.22 (the latest one) on my I9300, but, seems to have some "lagging" you know?
it's not smooth and cause lags on screen changes, like entering and leaving the settings, etc...
I used to love this ROM when I had an Defy+ but now it seems to be just a lagging ROM...
It's so beautiful.
how can I use that? how can I make that without lags?
Do I have to flash another kernel? What kernel?
What you guys using with it?
Thanks!
Guys I need help.

what rom and what kernel threads are not allowed on xda as per the rules. you should try all the kernels yourself depending on which the base of the rom is.

newbie to custom roms..help !! lol

Hi All
I have a stock Asus TF201 running 4.1.1 ...not rooted or anything ....and seems to be a bit slow ...so was thinking maybe time to upgrade to a custom rom to make it a bit more snappy ...its out of warranty !! lol
As im very new to this ....how do i do this ? plus i have about 10 apps that need backing up first , do i use the apps backup on sytem already or do i need to use something else first .(titanium ? but root needed )
I have seen a few videos on youtube showing upgrade to AndroWook 4.2 (looks straight forward ..ish lol )....but what is the best ROM to install ? or the best rom thats the easiest to install lol .
Also do the custom roms allow use of the dock keyboard ....dont use it much but be nice if i could if needed .
Any help most appreciated

Use Titanium Backup to backup the App+Data...
right looks like first thing is to root it ....by what it says on the link you gave me , it roots it without unlocking ...is that ok if going to change roms or does it need to be unlocked ...the unlock tool on asus site is only for ICS .
Cheers
think i might try just rooting it and doing the tweaks for best performance with stock rom first ...see how that works out .
Thanks
Right ...rooted it via the method listed ...and worked sound ..installed titanium back and backed up my apps .....so then did factory reset and reinstall my apps via titanium backup .
Then went onto the site listed to tweak the stock rom ...doing most of it ...missed out couple of things as didn't want to brick it .
Now working so much better, less lag ...especially using keyboard ....so well happy .
Thanks for all the info

I did that but then it still wasn't enough. Just straight up backup your files, unlock the boot loader, flash custom recovery and flash custom rom

So.... How do I unlock the bootloader on 4.1.1? And then do I install twrp?
Right ...took a few hours but now have it unlocked and have backed it up with nvflash ...all working fine .
now have Flatline CWM Recovery ..
What next ? do i need TWRP ? which best rom to use ?

well after playing around with tablet for most of the day ...i have now managed to install TWRP latest recovery tool ....took me ages to get it to install properly without locking up recovery mode ....so then tried Cyanogenmod 10.2 Unofficial ...but got stuck on the rotating arrow ...so had to clear data and reinstall ...worked fine ...but did not like it so have restored my old image ...now going to try hairybean image ....any others that are really good ?
