Lost RAM - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

I go to running apps and add the memory comsuption in both ram and cache and the result is for example 140 MB but my device says that it is 220 MB..
Where are those 80MB? What is consuming that memory?
Sent through Tapatalk

Those 80 mb RAM that you are talking about is the memory used by the system applications and the services that are happening in the background!
For eg. The telephone services, Google services..

Q. about the ram

The device should have 512mb but when im in the task manger i see that there are only 376mb of ram why is it?is it because the rom?because i remember that in the stock rom i got 381mb but now i only have 376mb is the tweaks that i did made that?
Thanks for all the helpers!
I.E
I just saw in the settings that i only have 263 ram(152 used+191 free)so which one is correct?the task manager or the settings menu?
I believe it is like the 8gb of storage and you only get around 5.5gb. Not all the ram is available for use to use, and I think that is for some of the background processes that are running to keep everything stable. I haven't used the stock rom in a while but I know that the max ram you get is 341mb, and yes some of the tweaks you do can increase/decrease ram.

You have 512mb of RAM in total but a certain amount is dedicated to the GPU to render the visuals. ~375 for apps and ~140 for graphics.
You can change how much is dedicated by doing what is called ramhack. But i don't know if its possible on the players. Search before making a new thread about it.

Did you read the settings wrong? Or its just messed up? I think that it meant 263mb of RAM was in use atm. So you would have ~110mb free (or the opposite).

No i read it fine,i upload some pictures so you will see.
Take care that the screen shot app should not be working in normal use so there should be in there 5-7mb more.
Anyway as u can see the task killer show different size of ram and the running apps shiw different size of ram....

That 125 is used by the OS and programs and process you see on the list. But android in setting does not show all ram used..he lies a little and always show more free ram then any other app reports.

Hmm, I just noticed that the yp-g70 seems to have more free ram for app use. The yp-g1 only has 352mb even with the more free ram mod in terrasilent kernal, according to task manager! Lucky you

ICS v4.0.4 w/ 180+ MB of RAM

YES! this is True 180+ MB Ram, @ the Moment what I have working is the ICS Itself, and thanks to wedgess's Lupus kernel i was able to get the Gamepad Working "Tested on certain Games such as FPSE, Asphalt 7 and Dead Trigger"
@ the Moment im working on Activating the Touchpad based on markpythons Dev. Tutorial. and as soon as im able to make everything Work, I'll convert this Post into a Guide on how to obtain such ICS once im able to get the Touchpad Working.
I'm at the same point as you with .479, i've deleted bloatware and RAM eating programs with 180-200MB of free RAM result. It would be great if you share solution if you find it cause i've spend 2 days of work on it with no results. His ICS touchpad tuto isn't actualized cause in his ROM mark has some play beta files instead of 2.3.4 files.
PS : games are so smooth with 180Mb free !
The official ics have self 160 - 180 MB free ram at all the time!

Would like to know if games become playable when you have touchpads working. Is 180 mg of ram enough to keep games from backing out or lagging when they even work? Please post results.

First, begin to delete RAM-killer apps like facebook (20Mb), Google+ (30Mb), Maps (20Mb), Xplay game laucher isn't necessary and it burns 20Mb on cache only to show and launch games.
After, that's your choice, some apps will be important for you but delete bloatware and Timescape etc, and you'll see, your system will be very responsive.
PS : If you delete game launcher, also delete storefront, it'll be useless and add a 10Mb gain.

What do you think, which launcher is best for RAM usage? I think it is Zeam, org.zeam.core uses about 24 MB of RAM+ cache uses about 7 MB of RAM so it uses total about 31 MB of RAM...what do you think, which is best launcher for memory?
The stock launcher on my phone uses 14mb total ram.

Ram Space?

Does having about 100 mb of ram space free really matter? If so is there a way to free up more ram space ? I have already used titanium backup and I'm running Liberty 3
It enough for browsing, messaging and so
But not for gaming however try unistalling some system apps which run in background it really happened for me I have upto 225 mb free but b4 I had only 120-130 mb

Thank you Since i have titanium backup already installed i went ahead and removed some system apps and now i have around 223 mb even when I'm running facebook, twitter, instagram and some games Thanks

Is there a reason you want it to use less? It has 2 GB of RAM and in my experience it never uses it all. So Android has an interesting way of managing RAM but trust it that it will purge the assets when it needs them. If you keep clearing RAM with task managers it tends to drain the battery . And one more thing, TouchWiz uses more RAM than AOSP / AOKP...

Oops my bad. I use the app which doesn't show the signature. As for RAM, 700/1024 really isn't bad. That still leaves plenty. The OS can handle purging of assets and flushing the RAM

Except the international models only have 833ram available instead of 1024 since I believe the others are reserved for the OS++
nothing need to do

Firstly, it is impossible to increase your physical RAM capacity.
Secondly, empty RAM is useless. Look it up on Google.
Lastly, you could change the OOM values by using a script like V6 Supercharger to increase the minimum free RAM, or you can change it yourself with an app like ROM Toolbox on the Play store.
That actualy is not much ram. But if you are really worried
then get Clean Master; https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cleanmaster.mguard&hl=en
it clears the ram and removes all unnecessary files.

I am sure it works great but it will use extra battery and really isn't necessary. The OS has its reserves and the apps will clear out RAM as its needed ...
