is it possible to run v6 supercharger on eclipse 2.3?if so are there any writeups/videos on the install?
v6 can be run on, most android phones
and roms
including dx2 with eclipse 2.3
haven't see any videos

Here is a video for installing V6. XDA member Tomsgt has put together a lot of these how to videos. This video is for CM9 though so it may be a little different for Eclipse.

Install Script Manager (Enable Browse as Root in Config)
Using SuperCharger Starter Kit (Prepares your ROM with the fixed su binary, zipalign binary, sqlite3 binary and busybox v1.19.4... and does NOT include the V6 SuperCharger scipt):
- Extract the zip to the root of the sdcard and it will all be in /sdcard/SuperCharger_Starter_Kit
- With Script Manager, just run StartMeUp.sh to install everything at once.
- Or, in terminal do: su, enter, sh /sdcard/Super*/Start*
Load script into Script Manager (Run As Root*- the*skull and crossbones icon*which turns*green*when selected)

hi guys. i've gotten my phone rooted using the magic MD5 option for 2.3.5 and successfully flashed Eclipse 2.3 to it. Very nice ROM, etc, but i'm having some issue installing the V6 Supercharger. I'm not sure if it's working or not and i've done my best to read the thread but it's quite long and the only guides i can find for the X2 are using the start up kit.. can someone help me with a step by step on Eclipse on just using the script manager? I dont understand all the options.. I've tried getting the status but it's a bit confusing.
Thanks.

that's a need to Patch your service.jar error
you shouldn't get that, don't run ics service centre, unless you are running a ics rom
I would unsupercharger, and try again
if you are running cm9 or other ics rom, you need to download fixed service.jar

so i really like eclipse but certain things i would like to customize a bit more, do you have any idea how to do this?
is there another stable ROM that offers alot more custom options? or how to enable more customization within eclipse?
depends on what things
cm7, and the ics roms have more options
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
I love the theme from eclipse but more options like editing what widgets are put in the notification bar and more lockscreen config using root/system options so its not like widget locker that has to wait for control? Idk.
For now, I can't get the double click of the home button to work to open an application.. only thing I really miss haha
Yep, sounds like you may want to try cm7. I sometimes switch between that and eclipse out of boredom. I'm on eclipse now. I am using go launcher and go locker to take care of the lack of lock screen options

N00b question: When the scipt says: "Lag? Disable Lock Home in Memory & Compcache!" where exactly do I have to disable Lock Home?
which launcher are you using, stock eclipse?

These steps are intended for use on the stock Droid X2. I'm sure they will be close to the same on other phones, but if your phone is not a stock Droid X2, know that the steps may be different or you may get unfavorable results. Always backup anything you don't want to lose.
Before even considering this, READ ALL THE STEPS. Then READ IT AGAIN.
There are two tweaks recommended here: V6_Supercharger and SD Speed Increase.
Requirements for V6_Supercharger:
1. Rooted Phone (Gingerbreak 1.20)
2. Script Manager (free on Market)
3. BusyBox 1.18.2 or earlier
NOTE: I haven't confirmed the script works on 2.3.4... You may want to use the latest version of the script if you have 2.3.4
Installing/Using the script:
1. Install BusyBox. There are a number of ways to get this... it comes as part of Titanium Backup, for example. If you're not sure if you have it, or not, you can use BusyBox Installer (free on Market) to detect whether or not you have it and install it if you don't.
- Note: BusyBox Installer tells you which version you have installed on the main screen after it loads... it should be in a list that starts with "Your device is Rooted"
- Note: Make sure you don't install BusyBox 1.19 or anything newer than 1.18.2
2. Download the script. Save it in a place where you'll be able to find it.
3. Launch Script Manager and find the downloaded file (usually in /mnt/sdcard/download). Long-press no it and select rename, then delete the .txt from the end. You should have a file named "V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update8.sh"... Press once on the script file to load it into Script Manager, check the 'Run as Root' box (DO NOT select "Run at Boot") and push "Run" to execute the script.
4. The script will run and ask for a speed. Touch anywhere on the screen to open your keyboard. Type 1 if this is your first time running the script, 0 if you're a fast reader or you are in a hurry. Next, it lists 17 options and gives an input prompt. Type 8 and push Enter. (This selects the called MegaRAM 1 preset, but feel free to try others, if you're so inclined)
5. Once script finishes, type 17 and push enter to end the script. Push the phone's Menu button and select 'exit' to return to the list of scripts.
6. Pushing the phone's Back button should bring you to a file browser. Push the '..' line (second from top) until the top line reads '/'.
7. Push the phone's Menu button, push 'More' and then 'Config'. Check the box 'Browse as root'. Push the phone's Back button to return to the file browser.
8. Browse to /data and select '99SuperCharger.sh' (This script was created by the first script and makes sure the settings from the first script are re-applied on boot)
9. Select both 'Run as root' and 'Run at boot'. Push 'Save' and then 'Run'. If it says "Exit code 0" at the top of the screen, the script ran successfully. Any other Exit codes should be reported.
10. Almost all the settings are now in place... but reboot your phone to get the last ones implemented.
11. After reboot, launch Script Manager and run V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update8.sh (the first script). Select 0 at the first prompt, look for the current minfrees values... it should say "Launcher is HARD TO KILL!" and "Current minfrees = 6, 12, 40, 60, 80, 100". If the settings are correct, type 17 to exit and you are done. If not, re-read steps because you missed something.
Credit goes to Zeppelinrox, see this thread for more info on this script.
Requirements for SD Speed Increase:
1. Rooted Phone (Gingerbreak 1.20)
2. SD Speed Increase (free on Market)
Configuring SD Speed Increase:
1. Open the app and adjust the memory slider to 2048
2. Check 'Set on every reboot'
3. Push the red button
4. Reboot the phone
Advanced: 3G TurboCharge
- I'll post full step-by-step instructions soon, but for now, here are two more scripts from Zepplinrox that will boost 3G performance... (Forum Post) Run 3GTurboChargerInstaller.sh and 98KickAssKernelTweaksInstaller.sh once each (Hint: Don't forget to remove the .txt extension). The second script creates this boot script: /system/etc/init.d/98kickasskernel, so you will have use this thread to get init.d created (Side note: I haven't been able to get it to actually run the scripts that are placed in init.d... we're stuck with Script Manager for now). Run all scripts as root, obviously.
Questions, Comments & Corrections are welcome!
To Do:
Update SuperCharger to update7 (need to test it myself first)
Test and implement AutoStart script
Edit:
06/27/2011 - Removed ro.Home_app_adj tweak. It's handled by the SuperCharger script.
06/27/2011 - Updated SuperCharger script instructions to use v4 of the script.
07/14/2011 - Updated SuperCharger script instructions to use v5 of the script.
07/25/2011 - Added BusyBox requirement to the SuperCharger script.
07/25/2011 - Updated SuperCharger script instructions to use v8 of the script. Rewrote most steps for improved clarity.
08/19/2011 - Updated 3G and Kernel links.
Using it now... Cant see a major difference but I can tell some things are faster... and havent had any reason to kill any apps because the phone starts to get sluggish so IMO thats a major plus and a sign that it is working...
Oh yeah... use option 9! Megamemory device....

What does the script say those numbers mean?
The 1-3 settings are just setting the scroll speed of the text when the script runs. I personally like to set it to 1 (fastest) but it really doesn't matter. 3rd gives you a chance to read everything.
Works, like a charm, now if i wanted to get rid of it would it just be going back through the steps and undoing what i did?

Requirements for V6_Supercharger:
1. Rooted Phone (Gingerbreak 1.20)
2. Script Manager (free on Market)
Installing/Using the script:
1. Download this ZIP and extract the script to your sdcard.
2. Load the V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update4.sh script into Script Manager and check the 'Run as Root' box (DO NOT select "Run at Boot"). Push "Run" to execute the script.
3. The script will run and display a list of 16 options and a prompt. Touch anywhere on the screen to open your keyboard. Type 9 and push Enter. (This selects the option called MegaMemory Device)
4. Once script finishes, type 16 and push enter to end the script. Push the phone's Menu button and select 'exit' to return to the list of scripts.
5. Pushing the phone's Back button should bring you to a file browser. Push the '..' line (second from top) until the top line is '/'.
6. Push the phone's Menu button, push 'More' and then 'Config'. Check the box 'Browse as root'. Push the phone's Back button to return to the file browser.
7. Browse to /data and select '99SuperCharger.sh' (This script makes sure the other script runs on boot. Otherwise you would have to do steps 2-5 everytime you boot your phone)
8. Select both 'Run as root' and 'Run at boot'. Push 'Save' and then 'Run'. You will most likely see 2 errors at the end of the 99SuperCharger script... this is expected.
9. Reboot your phone, but you might already notice a significant difference in speed and zero redraws from your launcher.
10. After reboot, launch Script Manager and run the V6_SuperCharger_for_Android.sh script, but this time don't select any options just look at your current settings and make sure they are the same as the Step values you put in. Right under the list of options, it should say: 'NOTE: Current minfrees =' If they are correct, type 16 to exit and you are done. If not re-read steps because you missed something.

What are the values that it sets? I currently am running the V6 script and unless this is a newer version my option 9 is called "Gaming settings". At any rate I did option 10 and set values at 6,12,75,125,150,175. What does this set them to?
disregard my previous post. I ran it and found they are the same settings I have been using. Thanks for the updated script though.
is their a script dev thread where updated scripts are posted
THANK YOU!
I was about 10 mins away from calling VZW and telling them to take this back and send me my original X back... I wasn't able to get ANY Ver. of Pandora to play or even Slacker half the time. The complete phone would freeze ALL the time to the point I could not do anything unless I performed a Battery Pull to hard reset.
This fixed ALL my issues. I don't even have the 1-3 second wake delay I was experiencing before. So far so GREAT!! As I type I even realize that while Pandora is playing and the phone is charging it is not getting nearly as hot as it was before? I don't care why it's working better now, but I'm glad it is!
I can't wait until we can get a decent rom with these fixes already in place! I loved Liberty on my old X. I miss it!

This's pretty slick. While I haven't noticed huge gains in most areas, due to having cleaned and optimized my phone, the whole thing just seems to run with extra smoothness. Also, there's no more delay when waking the phone.

Thanks for creating this thread and providing the most excellent script for memory mgmt. I've just installed it on my DX2 and boy, does it fly! I now see 130m+ memory free whereas before it would bounce between 50M-90M. Many thanks! I will run the remainder of this week and see if there are other impacts.
I do have one question, however, since I'm a newbie to all this: can I now remove the ATK application and disable the native Task Manager application with this script now in place? Or should I keep these as add'l failsafes?? Please advise and thanks for all the great info on this forum!

Does this increase benchmark scores at all? I know they don't mean anything but I think we can all agree, they're fun.
Also does this JUST manage memory or does it do other things as well?

In my limited and completely amateur testing, there was no noticeable improvement in benchmarks... but I'm sure mileage will vary. You should seek out Zepplinrocks (the scripts writer) for a better answer.
I am sure this is a stupid question, but I'm a droid Newb. Is it nessicary to have the script manager app constantly running once you have already ran the script? Or is it good to go once I have exited it the last time? And after rooting, and running this script my weather widget keeps on saying i am in rockport il. And I'm not.... any suggestions?

Hey guy's. Now that we got S-OFF, you can try this script that im using that makes a HUGE difference in my phone, and how snappy it is. I didnt see this posted here anywhere, so here it is. THIS IS NOT MY WORK, it's just something I stumbled upon, and every Android phone should use this! This script was made by a VERY talented developer named "Zepplinrox", so make sure you hit his THANKS button while your there downloading the script. I didn't copy and paste his work cuz if you have questions, you'll have to ask him on his thread.
LINK: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
This is how I got it to work on my phone:
... Do NOT run the V6 SuperCharger install script at boot!
1. Download the V6 Supercharger script and put it on the root of your sdcard.
-You must have busybox version 1.18.2 or lower for this to work. Any version higher will give you endless errors. It's all in Zepplinrox's thread.
-Go to market and download "Script manager". when you go to open it, first select "menu", then select "more", then select "advanced" and scroll down until you see "browse as root" and check that box. Then wait a few seconds and grant superuser permissions when the window pops up.
2. Load the script (V6_SuperCharger_for_Android*.txt) into Script Manager and select "Run as Root."
3. Touch the screen for the soft keyboard or slide out the keyboard and get SuperCharged! Just pick an option!
4. READ the script's output!
5. Afterwards, READ the html HELP FILE in the root of your SD Card!
6. Disable "Lock Home in Memory" if your ROM has this option.
7. Optional: For a quick status check, you can put a Script Manager widget for V6 SuperCharger on you desktop
Here's another link to a couple other scripts that you will want to use.

The instructions are in post #1125
IF you like this, then please hit Zepplinrox's thanks button, and if you have anymore, hit my thanks button. If this is a re-post, I'm truely sorry...

FYI I had uploaded a new Kick Ass Kernel script
Evertime I attempt to run this script I get
exec sh '/mnt/sdcard/3GTurboChargerInstallerUpdate2.sh'
# sh '/mnt/sdcard/3GTurboChargerInstallerUpdate2.sh'
sh: Can't open /mnt/sdcard/3GTurboChargerInstallerUpdate2.sh
Locked & Loaded
Also when I run the kickass script I get
exec sh '/mnt/sdcard/98KickAssKernelTweaksInstallerUpdate2.sh'
# t/sdcard/98KickAssKernelTweaksInstallerUpdate2.sh'
sh: Can't open /mnt/sdcard/98KickAssKernelTweaksInstallerUpdate2.sh
Locked & Loaded
So after trying every method I could I'm unable to get this to work. Keep getting the same error. So I'm done. Moving on now.
Locked & Loaded
Thank you for this! I have removed autokiller and have switched to this method since it seems to work a lot better.
What are the best settings for the evo 3d? I am using the SuperRAM 2 but feel that I could be using a better setting?
Depends on what you want?
How much free ram do you normally have and at what point would the phone feel laggy?
btw, I made a change to 3g TurboCharger that needs testing...
Edits to build.prop...
Code:
ro.ril.hsxpa=3
ro.ril.gprsclass=34

Difference between this and update 2:
ro.ril.gprsclass=34 (instead of 12)
ro.ril.htcmaskw1=268449905 (instead of 14449)
I've actually seen gprsclass=32 in the past but 12 is the most common setting so I had used 12.
After researching today, seems that 32 would indeed be better than 12 BUT there is a new gprs class 34 so this would be a first for testing it at 34! (as far as I know) lol
So, I'd be interested in seeing if this is better than the 3G TurboCharger update 2 tweak!
Seems like this could be useful but I have no idea wtf to do with it. Some instructions would help. The html help file on my sd card is nonexistent

5. All Scripts Need To Have "RUN AS ROOT" Checked First.
6. Then Select "RUN" And Follow The Instructions On The Screen.

This Post Doesn't Specify For Froyo Or Gingerbread Users. It's Up To The User, And I'm On Gingerbread And I Find All 3 Beneficial.
Now that we have the init.d hack will the kickasskernal with the IO tweaks work? Or should I just use the IO tweaks that come with navenedrob's script?
I Vote You Should Try It And See If It Works. Make A Backup First.
It boot looped...........
Do I have to sbf? Or could I just use the nandroid?
Throw The Phone Out Now. You Royally Messed Up. Geez Leave You Alone For One Minute And Look What You've Done. Nandroid Is Just Fine, No SBF Necessary.
WAAAAHHHHH no fair.... oh look it rebooted.....
So yea I am gonna try to use the IO tweaks from navenedrob's script as well as the cpu tweak from his script oh on top of the SD read ahead one. Those should work well with supercharger and kickasskernal I think. Those do not touch the cpu freq right?
I Don't Have Any Reason To Believe It Would.
Awesome, everything is working great.
My cpu is set to 1000 min and max. Sd read ahead is working but umm how do I know if the IO tweaks are working?
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk
Anyhow... now that I have my cpu at 1000 min/max I want to separate the cpu freq tweak and have different freq scripts for battery saving.

How are these scripts running for X2 owners? Any major issues so far?

I Think They Work Fantastic, Personal Opinion. No Issues At All.
Mods like this one should also go to the Droid X2 Dev forum.

This Was Actually A Toss Up, Because Zep Started A Thread In The General.
i tried the scripts on p3 and it actually made it use marginally more ram and it was glitchy. i dont remember what numbers i used but i got them from this forum somewhere. either way when i tried to undo it i got a reboot loop so i sbfed and went back to p3. after looking into it some more ive read some places that you dont need this if you arent running froyo. any truth to this?
I Don't Think It's Been "Proven" But Rather A Preference. I'm Using All 3 On P3's Along With Various Other Tweaks I've Taken From Others. I Have 40 Running Apps With 100Mb Of Ram And My Phone Is Still Lightning Fast. So My Conclusion Of "Truth" Is These Help Tremendously. On The Other Hand A User Like Yourself Claims It's Worse. I Hope That Helps In Understanding What You're Asking.
so what you are saying is that its personal preference and doesnt really matter that much?
This is a compilation, some of my own thoughts combined with ideas from others scattered throughout this forum... I really can't credit anyone other than who has already been credited above because it's just standard ideas.
Please feel free to add legitimate tips and tweaks to this thread so everyone can have a better TP experience! If it's noteworthy and people say it's helpful, I will add it to this OP!
1. Download the proper GAPPS and GAPPS fix to get Calendar working (thanks Stroid01, I borrowed your links from the original install thread)
2. Download the Charging and SystemUI fix from Dalingrin
3. Download Chainfire3D and install the Beta EGL drivers. Why? They fixed a lot of visual glitches that came with the stock ones.
4. Download and install the latest Adobe Flash 11.1 from the Market to enable Flash video, otherwise it won't work right out of the gate.
5. Enable USB transfer: Settings -> Storage -> Advanced (the 3 little dots in the top right corner) -> USB computer connection, then check the box next to "Media Device (MTP)"
6. It was in my best interest to change the DPI of the LCD, it'll look much better and the icons won't be so huge, my favorite has been 132 (though others have reported 145 to be good as well): Edit the build.prop in Root Explorer (mount R/W first) and change the line "ro.sf.lcd_density = 160" to "ro.sf.lcd_density = 132"
7. Install the cracked Market to fix any issues with your new DPI settings (Thanks, marios96)
8. To run Gamelot games edit your build.prop (it's located in your /system directory) to say this (I changed mine to XOOM instead of DROIDX but the idea is the same, thanks ssconceptziew):
ro.product.model=DROIDX
manufacturer=motorola
I guess this could be moved to the Development forum, I just thought this would be appropriate here since it's not actually involving developing something, just tweaks.
thanks, guess i will try the chainfire thing
How did you install chainfire. Tells me my device isnt compatible. And where do i find the drivers. Thanks in advance

When I try to install an app in the market, it gets stuck at the downloading stage. Is there a way to fix this? I've tried doing a fresh wipe and install of CM9 but nothing has worked! Also, I'm having problems downloading the UI fix. The countdown keeps on repeating.
Thanks. Looks much better now.
On WinXP I could not get MTP to work until I disabled debugging. Once I did that it showed up on my computer as a media device.
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/15568-rel-market-fix-dpi-compatibility/
Also install the cracked market from above to fix any compability issues with the new DPI.

Find an APK online. I'm not telling you to go get warez and download the pro version, I'm saying go get a free version.
And Chainfire is a driver program. That's what it's for, installing new drivers
I already got the pro version . The free version dosnt have the driver

You can also mention changing the kernel so you can get voltage control.

Flashing the new kernel didn't give me any voltage control in SetCPU.

Yeah, there's no voltage control in SetCPU even though he states it in his change logs. It does work in System Tuner though.
Tried, and you're right. The different kernel is a bit more unstable at this point in time, however. I am using it, but it's not for those that don't mind more frequent reboots (what's funny is that this is also my primary work device.... lol).
I have a tweak.
To run Gameloft Games edit your build.prop to say this:
ro.product.model=DROIDX
manufacturer=motorola

Did you copy the build.prop to your internal, edit then replace and restart. You can't edit it in place.

Many of us wants to have super snappy phone, but as time is going, phone is getting slower and slower..
So that's why some devs make scripts.. But not all have the same desirable effect as this one
First, I want to thank @zeppelinrox for this awesome script..
Truly amazing work, dude!
So in this guide I will show you, how to set best values for DX step-by-step.
I'm doing this on clean install of AOKP as I'm writing this tutorial, so results may be different on Sense ROM
You don't have to wipe whole system to get this working!
So, let's get started!
_________________________________________________________________________________
I. Getting things ready
1. Download script
Latest one can be found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51069066
Don't forget to rename extension .pdf to .sh!
2.Install SManager
Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=os.tools.scriptmanager&hl=sk
3. Move script to /sdcard
_________________________________________________________________________________
II. SManager
1. Browse as root
When you open app for the first time, it shows you dialog windows. Click on 'Browse as root',
confirm su request and click 'Ok'
2. Open script
After you opened it, click on Su icon (droid with bones) and Run it
Now script should start, so let's get it set up
_________________________________________________________________________________
III.I Driver Options
1. When prompted for Enter key, click Enter lol
Script should start from option 29
2.Exact process
-Scrolling speed: 1 (fast)(isn't that fast)
-Kernel Strength (Reboot Tolerance): (N)one
-SD Speed Tweaks: Yes
-3G TurboCharger Enhancer: Yes (boosts 3G networking)
-Detailing on boot: Yes (every second boot)
.
Warning!
Fix Alignment, Wheel Alignment and Fix Emissions should be disabled for Sense ROMs,
as it leads to bootloop (mySenseDX)
Otherwise, on AOSP-derived ROMs only Fix Emissions should be allowed on boot,
as other two settings are combined into that one
-Disable AWESOME V6 Animation: Yes (It doesn't even work for me)
This part should end with V6 Animation, so press Enter after prompted
Next part is number 10 (Cust-OOMizer)
__________________________________________________________________________________
III.II Other stuff
1.CustOOMizer Minfree Values
Minfree Calculator calculates best values for not patched services.jar (later), so for now
only confirm with Yes
Later, when we patch it, we set higher values for faster phone and more free RAM
At the end of explanations, where were fix applied, press Enter
2. Jelly ISCream Parlor
This is the part where services.jar should be patched, but for now, we should skip it
and do it after all the things are applied
So press E(X)it
Script continues with option 1, but you should already see that phone is 50% Supercharged
Other 50% will be gained via services.jar patching and ADJ Entries, which should be added after
patching.
In this option, only press Enter when prompted
___________________________________________________________________________________
IV. Additional Tweaks
So now, we continue with other settings
1. Nitro Lag Nullifier (Option 22)
Description within script says all about it So enter (N)ullify
2.Flush-O-Matic Engine (Option 17)
This one takes care of cached apps, so unused apps are 'flushed' away from cache and phone seems
to be faster (and it really is!)
-Continue and Flush it all away? Yes
-Change Engine Options? Yes
-Enable? Enable
-How often? (Discutable) No really, I preffer that cache is flushed every hour, but results may vary
If all goes right, after explanations press Enter when prompted, reboot phone normally
and we should proceed to..
__________________________________________________________________________________
V. Patching services.jar
Follow Option A (lazy me ): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914159
In-script:
-Supercharge services.jar? Of course Yes
-Launcher Strength? Die-Hard
Maximum Multitasking Mods? Yes
Important info says everything about why we're going to raise values with CustOOMizer
I did the whole thing only via USB adb, so you should too
Device may bring bootanimation while pushing patched services.jar! But don't worry, reboot to recovery via
adb, wipe caches, fix permissions and reboot normally
___________________________________________________________________________________
Open script and voila! 100% Supercharged!!
But that's not all, last thing we need to set is higher minfree values..
Use Option 8 (Super 768HP) in console
___________________________________________________________________________________
That's all folks, hit Thanks and feel free to ask any questions
Sorry for my English

Actually, it does make your phone faster, if you follow the tutorial

im very sceptical towards all those performance-/enginges/tweaks/scripts-stuff. there are tons of them, kinda annoying.
still waiting for placebo-engine which speeds up your phone by doing absolutely nothing. :victory:
seriously, last time i tested pure performance x for example, i noticed no difference (ok, animations where disabled, but i dont need a performance-script/tweak to do that)

Actually, you are right.. Every of these scripts have some parts of supercharger, definitely. But this one is pretty unique and not placebo (at least for me)
@zeppelinrox wrote pretty good explanation of what does the tweaks within script really do to phone
Pure Performances tweak isn't too great, making phone faster via disabling animations do nothing and even stock version of it slows down many ROMs that I've tried on DX

WHAT NOW?
