Has anyone else had issues tethering on 4g? It seems like everytime I start up FoxFi and connect to it with another device, my 4g drops to 3g.
Yes. Does it on WiFi tether also. Temporary fix is to force 4G only or CDMA/4G only until the update is released for the 4G threshold fix.

I know we can use wireless tether, and get 4g working...but Would like to use the build in app for 4g tethering...works in 3g, but tells me not subscribed in 4g.

You cant get 4g to work without paying for it. It only works with 3g. You have to use a different app like wifi tether
Is there a way to get wifi tether to work on my EVO on boost?? I've tried and can't seem to get it to work. Is it even possible??

if your data (3g) works on boost then I see no reason why wifi tether wouldn't work.
My 3g data works just fine, but wifi tether doesn't seem to want to work

A little app called Quick Setting has a function called wifi hotspot that might help you.
I have a stock Photon and was wondering if Sprint charges for using the mobile or usb hotspot options. Seems to good to be true.

Yes, but you can root your phone and downloat wifi tether and get it free. Search the posts.

On my phone, the stock hotspot app doesn't work as I do not have a tethering plan. You can run the app but 3G/4G will be cut off.
android-wifi-tether beta6 works properly for 3G only, of course, after rooting and choosing the Galaxy 2/netd mode. However, it does not work on 4G and in fact, as someone else pointed out, it will disable 4G until your phone is restarted.
On my phone, barnacle tether works under 4G but doesn't work with 3G.
In short, root your phone. Use android-wifi-tether under 3G and barnacle tether under 4G.
does that only happen when using beta 6? I'm using beta 5 n 4g works fine for me.

Is there a way to tether somehow on sprints network but tethering on 4G rather than 3g? I have the sprint hotspot app working but it only connects to 3g and loses 4G signal when I connect. Any thoughts? And thank you all ahead of time!

As far as I know that's how it has always worked, even since the EVO 4G days. You'll have to use Wireless Tether if you want to tether on 4G.

YES, this is common knowledge!!! PAY SPRINT$30 a month and you can tether on 4g with the Sprint hotspot all you want. If you don't want to pay $30 a month than you have to use one of the other tethering apps out there to tether with 4g. The hotspot unlock only supports 3g.
Sweet, thanks everyone, I appreciate your input!

Yeah that's what I have heard as well about sprints hotspot App, and I myself use wifi tether and will use sprint if I ever need to for a computer that's needs to be tethered through usb cable nice feature to have as a backup.

Thanks i did not know this
I use an AOSP (paranoid android) based ROM but I've had issues with this on cyanogen mod also. Wi-Fi doesn't seem to connect very well and I'm wondering If there is a fix it like the GPS fix that I can flash?
Thank you!

Is it a Comcast router? (Known incompatibility issue)

No it's an AT&T router

I have the same issue with my Gateway router (AT&T Uverse). Once I get it connected it's usually pretty stable unless the phone sleeps for awhile, then I have to reconnect. When connecting to other networks I don't have this issue.

Yeah it is an issue with CM and ATT 2wire router. Your options are to get a new router or keep hitting connect in the WiFi settings like an idiot until it finally connects. This was so aggravating for me when I had ATT.

Yep same thing here. On 4.3 its not that bad but on 4.2 I didn't even try. Anyone know why it does this with 2wires for?

Me either. Never had this on sense. Now that GPS is fixed this is the last major issue.
Although it does moderately make me feel better to see it's not just me!
