Samsung has never said it will be released on the 29th. Only websites speculated this.. Expect an announcement at today's Note 2 conference with regards to the JB update. :good:

It's a lesson not to to rely on speculation as fact, Samsung have not issued any release dates for JB, it's just rumours.
Samsung never confirmed this, but we want it to be true. I am also waiting for the JB update, and think it will be available soon in a couple of days or so. At least I wish.
Samsung is not known for their speediness in releasing software/firmware updates of any kind.. get used to it.

Has it not occurred to you that the conference hasn't even started yet so they haven't even announced it yet. Are you also aware there are different time zones on the planet?
Another thing to remember is, it has never been promised it was coming today which it won't. It was someone's guess that it would....

I've got today an OTA for my SGS3. I was a bit shocked, they really sent the JB update. After installing the update nothing changed visually. I've given a call The Samsung Customer Service and they told me it was a bug fix for 4.0.4 ICS. I'm from HUNGARY having a T-Mobile SGS3. I don't think so they will air another firmware update today as well after the Event in Berlin...

Actually, your thinking of the Fascinate, since we all know that Verizon delays more then anyone else.
We would probably see Gingerbread first of the US carriers.

if you actually read the release info about the "promised gb update", you'd have read the part about how the US variants are on a different timeline, and if you had been here during the whole 2.1 -> 2.2 update debacle, you'd have known that all these timeline "promises" ONLY apply the the international galaxy s phones.

Mine says i'm up to date.
There may be maintenance only
Could be maintenance better to say I am afraid it is only that after your reply..
But I still have a little hope.
Its says that ics will possibly be out in the second quarter. so with the way things work and the second quarter ends on june 30 that willl be when we will see ics.
No update here but yesterday Motocast updated from 1.2.9 to 2.0.17 so maybe it's close
Hopefully it is soon, but with moto I can see them waiting until the last day of Q2 to release it. I mean there are a ton of leaks and they seem to be working pretty well so it should be close.
If motorola were working pretty well we should have ics already. Its 8 months since google released android 4.0.1 sdk.
And mags are talking about ics 5.0 aka jelly bean while we're still in GB, this is the facts..
We'll get 4.0 just a few months before 5.0. Its not a good deal, is it?
Sorry, Im just a lttle pissed. lol

Rollouts begin in Q2 2012.
Japan and Europe will recive ICS at the same time so maybe they started rolling out ICS for Japan and soon we will see it in Europe?!
All this can lead us to believe that the latest leak, which is dated 22.5., could be the one they push out. After using it for two days, i can say it's very much a bugfree rom. I didn't find a single problem with it, did not even need to restart the device once. Also battery life is amazing. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the one they release.

I actually thought it meant, "Our original ICS version had at least 1 major bug that we discovered when testing in real-world situations and we aren't going to release it until it is ready for everyone."
Of course, they could have also meant, "At least one of our 'content partners' (who are paying big bucks to get their advertisement disguised as an application inserted into our release) hasn't actually sent in their app yet and we aren't going to release it until it is monefied for everyone."
LOL im so surprised people are surprised by lack of updates from telus/rogers/bell
we may get most phones before the usa, but we pay for it with our carriers holding back updates

I don't like AOSP ROMs, I was using OnlyOne HYFR B4, and it still has those AT&T things in Wi-Fi settings, and carrier name on the status bar.
Actually they were not big deal but it had some kind of bug, when I try installing an app from APK file, I can click "Cancel" but I can't click "Install".
So, I will be staying on rooted stock Gingerbread ROM with the holoNote kernel and wait for official ICS from TELUS.

Gnex is ICS out of the box.
@JamieD81, we're in the same boat with bricked N7000's. I bought another N7000 with a cracked screen just for the motherboard, since the only place to get N7000's fixed is in Europe. Plus I went thru 3 mainboards on my I9000M. I still buy Sammie's crap, but I'm being a little more careful about flashing roms now. I'm waiting until the official rom is released, and played with enough before I throw my i717 on the line this time.

I don't think we'll get JB in just 2 months. The carrier must have been working on ICS for sometime, they won't just dump it and move to JB.
I really want ICS!
i hate samsung !
so, while on vacation in Ontario for the last week. I have managed to pop into a few different stores in Toronto and Ottawa and both cities tell me that the reason its late on the Note is due to Bell Mobile TV and a compatibility issue. not sure why it seems to work on other bell ics devices, but that seemed to be the standard answer from all stores I visited. And yes I travelled to more than 2 stores in each town. I would have to say that I visited at least 10 total between both cities. looking for specific accessories and such.
just a FYI for those waiting for Bell.

Don't be so sure. There was a Telus pdf that was found containing dates and current "status". The Note date was July, but hadn't even reached the "in telus labs" status that the S2X had etc. So it seems like it only takes a month or so for the carrier to validate.

Indeed 4.1.2 and 1.27.531.7 is what we are stuck with....
Just called T-Mobile and the woman saw nothing about the updates in their system...
She said if you can download the update and apply it from HTC's website that would work, but rooting and using different software would break the warranty.

The rep would not know anything except an update currently in the pipeline, that is, already heading our way. Only someone at Tmo corporate headquarters would know the strategic deployment strategy, and they do not talk. TMO tends to release updates later than other companies.
t-mobile tends to release updates not at all...
a few years ago my smartphone was updated for all carriers except t-mobile. everyone went up an android version while I did not.
who cares how much difference it makes... t-mobile is clearly lazier about updating than other companies and need a push to do so.

Well, for my Amaze 4G, they released the upgrade to ICS after about 5 months. And then very recently they did another upgrade, which would be almost a year later. But that first major update wasn't that late.
The way I look at it, if you're using these forums, you shouldn't have to wait for carrier updates. HTC did announce that an update is in the works.
