As da title suggests .... my s2 i9100 is on stock 2.3.6 unrooted.. i want
to root it and to install da latest working cwm recovery to be able to
install new custom roms.. plz guide me how to do ? i m first time rooting

I have few questions:
1)Which ICS custom ROM is best for smoothest functionality for daily driver having all features and in which can handle heavy mutitasking without a hitch , does not switch off or crash automatically and has very good battery backup ?
2)can i back up my OS so that in case i need to revert back.
And finally i am a noob so details step by step procedure will be helpful

Nobody will answer a "which is the best ROM" question as everyone has a different opinion and reason for preferring a certain ROM. All the information you need is on this website please search and read thoroughly before you start rooting your phone.

difference between android development and original development is simple. android development is roms basically with a slap on theme on it and original is well original.

as regarding unlocking bootloaders you do not have to as it is already unlocked..all you have to do is flash a cf-root kernel from chainfires thread.

before installing the ICS i want to backup the current ROM thats is Stock rom "company rom"
so i think i need to flash a kernel with cwm first then do a backup .. then flash ICS kernel then installing the ICS rom ??

Root is not needed kernel is part of the firmware .
Flash a stock Samsung rom from Stock rom thread or from posted ICS roms in General via Odin .
Alternative wait for your phones upgrade via KIES or use Checkfus to download firmware .
Root is only required if you are flashing a custom firmware that requires CWM and Root and most do .

personally I would look at Chainfire topic on easy rooting etc, or you could use SuperOneClickRoot & then install any number of custom roms from the I9100 android development section here at XDA

I hav galaxy s3 I9300 international one . i hav rooted it and hav resurrection remix rom in it...now i want to flash the ROM that is released in my country (india)....it is the stock rom which i can download from the sammobile website...how can i flash that rom now? i dont want my phone to unroot...i just want that particular rom....please help....ps: i actually want features like multi window and photosphere which is not there in resurrection remix 3.1.4...if there is any custom rom having these features,pls tell me....

you can still be rooted = use mobile odin and check the box stay rooted and inject SU
but for your mod they will go (you can make your own mod look at my signature )
