Can anyone tell me how to get the mount points back to internal sd and external sd?
anyone...
The latest versions have them at /emmc for internal and /sdcard for external, which is where they're actually supposed to be in AOSP.

Is there a way to unmount the internal SD card so I can only use the external SD card? I'm trying to sync tracks via Spotify but the internal storage on my device isn't enough. I'm rooted and running stock Gingerbread. TIA
I want to know this too...

Unless you are using CM7 which allows you to change which card is mounted as /sdcard and /mnt/emmc I don't know of any way to do it.
You can go to settings>storage settings>unmount sdcard but I don't think it is going to do what you want.

Waiting for my AT&T model and had a question, how does the 16GB internal storage get presented at file system level? Is it mounted as /sdcard or something else? If so what does the external SD get mounted as? Trying to decide if I need an SDcard or not. 16GB is enough for me but concerned about app compatibility depending on how its setup.

Mounts as sdcard external card mounts as ext sdcard on stock firmware apps cannot be installed to ext sdcard.

On all other roms I used it stored my internal SD card in the 'mnt/sdcard' and the external would be in the 'mnt/sdcard/external_sd'...
This ROM stores the external sdcard in the opposite manner (mnt/sdcard) which makes more sense but I can't find out where the internal sdcard is stored.
Thanks in advance.
ROM is seraphim mesosphere...or something like that lol
/emmc

Is there a way to fix internal sd pointer to sd card?
I tried terminal,
ln -s /mnt/emmc external_sd
But all i get is "operation not permitted". Is there another way to get a symbolic link on my internal sd pointing to external sd?
I use airdroid for transferring data from pc, but won't pick up external sd so it's kind of a pain sometimes.

Emmc should be the internal SD, and /mnt/sdcard is the external. No fix needed

Except that in my phone is exactly the opposite. Going to /mnt/sdcard goes to my internal and /mnt/emmc shows the contents of my external card.

I believe you would have to recompile the kernel to change that. Or install a different kernel. What firmware are you running?

I was wondering if cm9 had changed it back, I wasn't sure. Either way that's how it is supposed to be in cm9

Did you try running the command as root? If all else fails, Directory Bind should do the trick for you in creating the symlink.
Although I'm not sure if the computer will pick it up via the symlink either if it doesn't see it in the first place. Have you tried to mount USB storage while in recovery?
Hi guys, which Rom supports the usb mass storage mode? I know, it s a option to enable the external card with easy ums but I want the normal way
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
GS3 doesn't allow that. You just have to use easy ums.

Easy ums only works for external memory.
So, any mod for internal massive storage?
Thanks

NO!
The internal storage is one big lump of memory with ONE (1) partition, i.e. /data. The internal "sdcard" has a mountpoint at /data/media but it's still only one partition and there's no way to unmount the /data partition and then mount it for mass storage. That's why we have MTP.

Thanks for that. Didn't know that was the reason behind it.
