I am also from Canada (Bell) and from what I can tell, flashing the modem isnt absolutely necessary. I've flashed countless roms (CM10 PA as of now), never flashed any modems and I have no problem whatsoever connecting to my network. Of course, if you experience poor performance, then yes, you should surely flash a modem specific to your carrier
Rogers and at&t use the same frequncy, so the LF6 standardbics modem will perform fine.
thanks guys!

Hi Guys
I have recently bought new SGS II phone. I have been using HTC Desire and got more than 1 year of flashing experience almost every week i used to flash new ROM or updates to MIUI Rom. Touch wood i never bricked my phone.
I have rooted my SGS 2 with CF root method. Flashing Samsung device seems to be confusing me. There are so many kernels, Firmwares and even themes are dependent upon which firmware i am running.
I used to flash any rom for HTC desire without worrying about which firmware i originally got.
My carrier is T-mobile UK and running Kernel 2.6.35.7 KG2, can i flash any latest kernel or i need to match anything ?
My firmware is I9100BOKG1, can i update this to any firmware or it must be from UK and same carrier ?
Basically i do not understand what i can do and what i can not. I have searched for these all information everywhere on google but can not find any satisfactory answer.
Expert guys please help me.

Read and learn is the only way .

No flash anything bar ICS.

If you flash a kernel you will lose TMobile update path .
You can simply upgrade via the stock roms thread which debrands your phone or wait for TMobile upgrade but root may throw that out as its not the kernel that came with the phone .
Best solution is to read post one full of how to stickies .

Hi all, this might seem like a daft question but I guess this is the best place to ask.
I'm in the UK and have a US Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi, I've been running GalaxyTask 13 on it recently however i'm looking to put it back to stock. Would I be able to flash the EU firmware onto it or do I have to use the US firmware?
Cheers in advance

You can and should be able to flash a EU firmware on it, I've worked on different devices and had the liberty of the this tablet to work on aswell. I purchased my 64GB white 3G one from Singapore and currently using a EU firmware on it. Since you don't have 3G you shouldn't worry about carrier lock or efs issues

Hi,
Im just wondering if this is a stock rom for atrix 4g olleh kt? I been looking for an (korea)olleh kt atrix 4g stock rom. If it is a stock rom olleh kt what version it is? please help.

Try looking in here: http://main.develoid.com:81/motorola/Atrix/
Its the korean repo for various phones and they often contain the korean firmware. My MB860 had SKT 2.3.6 firmware before I moved on to Nottachtrix rom.
You want to revert it to stock or just wanna make sure for version to unlock bootloader/flash recovery on it?
I want to revert to stock because my atrix olleh wont detect my sim card after installing cynogenmod. I rooted and unlocked my bootloader but still I have this problem. can you please help me with my problem? thanks for the link.

I updated my Unlocked AT&T Note to JellyBean 4.1.2. I'm currently on T-Mobile. My question is, are there any T-Mobile JB modems I can flash or Odin onto this new software?
Just use any modem you want. Any.
Modems are for the chips on the phone and are not dependent on GB, ICS, or JB.
But, that said, some experimentation is needed. I put all the relavent flashable zips on my sd card, then went about my day. I tried a modem in one area, then flashed another, until I found the best one for me.

Because once you upgrade your firmware you can no longer downgrade. So when you flashed 5CPI4 you can only flash firmware that is 5xxxx. You can not downgrade to 4xxxx firmware. They have different modems and bootloaders.
