I need some help!
I tried rebooting and did a hard reset then I wiped the app data and defaults in settings and it still wouldn't work. I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice now. Oddly the music does play if I plug my headphones in and press play on the mic controls and I can use the notifications controls to skip tracks and pause. It plays in the background but when I try to actually open the app it says: "Unfortunately, Poweramp has stopped." and then I have to close it.
I have been on Resurrection Remix 3.0.4/Siyah Kernel 4.1b6 for a while now and Poweramp hasn't given me any trouble until this morning. I'd really like a solution where I wouldn't have to completely wipe my phone if possible.
Thanks!

Hi I have the same problem with power amp. I tried the above methods with no avail. I have used lucky patcher in the past for power amp but not anymore. I still have lucky patcher installed for other applications. What could be causing power amp to crash every time I launch it?
PowerAmp Still crashes

Hi, I also have a galaxy sII and I encountered this problem as well (poweramp crashing instantly upon opening). I believe it only started happening after I installed the newest CM 10.1 nightly (20130531). I attempted the solution posted in this thread (first I cleared the app's data, then I uninstalled it (both the app and the unlocker of the purchased version), I then went to CWM recovery and cleared the cache, even formatted the cache partition, and also cleared dalvik cache). I rebooted my phone but the problem remained. I thus uninstalled the program again and went back to CWM and did a complete factory reset, which got rid of all my apps and settings, etc. When i reinstalled poweramp (and most of my other apps).... the problem still was there. I also notice that it seems to be the exact same problem as described in this thread initially since the app will play music fine when I plug my headphones in. But as soon as I click on the app to access it... it crashes. i have posted a video of the problem on youtube, but i'm not allowed to post links yet. however you may access it at /watch?v=DIZGBxej2uU
My best guess is that the problem lies in CM 10.1 20130531 nightly for the SGSII. Any ideas?

I have the exact same issue after updating to CM 10.1 RC3 for the Galaxy Nexus (toro) on May 30th. I even did a factory reset to no avail.
EDIT: The problem was fixed by updating to CM 10.1 RC4.
I'm having the same issue with cm-10.1-20130530-NIGHTLY-fascinatemtd. PowerAmp worked fine when I was running cm-10.0, but is now crashing on start with 10.1.
I did all of the steps mentioned above. I also cleaned up my sdcard, although since it also crashes without an sdcard installed, I doubt it matters.
Ideas?

You can fix the problem by updating to 10.1 RC4. There was a math calculation bug in RC3 and its nightlies. Look at the cyanogenmod google+ page for more info.

Dalvik cache? If so I just did and I will report back
Did it start happening after the supplement 5.1.1? A few users rebooted reboot issues especially after using Flash in the browser. I haven't been able to replicate it, but I also wipe user data as a rule between mods and updates.

it seems to be doing it after I use market at some point. i done the cache clear as above and it worked fine for 2 hours, then I opened up market and looked around. with in 2 min the screen went blank and i was to the lock screen. other times it goes to the home screen.
I done a shut down, restart and havent been on market and its been up for a hour.
I'm running the supplement at this time. only thing downloaded was quadrant and kindle.
first time I done the quadrant test also, it was 2152 or close. not sure what it should be if that matters.
thanks for your help.

Doesn't make sense it would only happen with the same 2 apps & on different roms.
Have you tried browsers other than the stock browser & does it happen with those? What version of Market is currently installed, an older version or the nesest (3.0.27)?

Are you talking in CWM, Mounts & Storage?
Shouldn't have to do anything there. All that should be automatically mounted. you wiud know if one of those wasn't. ..system would come up.../data is where installed apps are, /sdcard is where you store stuff, /system is where your rom is, /cache is by the system
If you use cpumaster, setcpu or similar, try removing.I found setcpu to be responsible for crashing some apps and sleep of death on my tab and was only overclocked to 1.2Ghz.I now overclock by editing script included in rom and no more problems.
Updated my Galaxy S2 from 2.3.6 to 4.0.3 and everything went fine but when i got to installing applications i got to about 80% so i restarted and it went to what i think is 99%-100%, a wiped cache and it reinstall applications but same thing stuck on installating apps.
When you say 'installing apps' do you mean when the phone syncs with your google account and re-installs your apps from the market, or are you trying to manually install them yourself from the market or backups i.e. titanium?

no the screen is black and there is a bar thats full and a text above that says installing applications the phone is in "desktop" but its above so i cant use the phone, it was first improving apps (318) and then this.
Its all a part of updating the phone to ICS
Ah sorry yes I remember that bit now when I upgraded. Didn't have any problems for me, Maybe a full wipe of everything including the cache in CWM before flashing again might help. Besides that there's not much more I could really suggest. I'm sure there's someone here a bit more advanced that could help your problem.

i was stuped not to write it all down so i dont know versions beside KL1 when i was picking firmware file, a really dont want to wipe everything cause i lose all my data etc, a did a backup with cwm manager on 2.3.6 but i dont know if i can use that when i have 4.0.3?
I had a similar issue when i first upgrated to ICS. Stuck on "Installing Applications" screen for a while - but i just left it and eventually it went through ok.
Did you ever resolve your issue?
Hi guys, i have the same error, my phone is stucked at the "Installing Applications" screen. I have contacted samsung trough the chat service at their website but they told me to leave it at the samsung service but i don't want to leave it there for around 30 days. I read that with a hard reset it will go back to work again. My question is: How I do a hard reset with my phone stucked? I don't have root.
Will take time if you were updating , if 15 minutes or more have passed do a data cache wipe from recovery.
And remember what wipe means...

Hi, thanks for your help. I did a wipe cache but it didn't help. Wiped data and now my phone is working again and with ICS. But without my old data.
Hi,
I've just got the same problem, but could solve WITHOUT WIPING. Do the following:
- Restart phone
- on the lock screen, instead of swiping and getting stuck in "installing applications", just drop down notifications
- on notifications menu, tap where it should say "low on disk space". It will open "Applications" from the setting menu.
- Uninstall some apps until you get around "250MB" from the 2GB reserved by the system (250MB was what worked for me, that's the reason of the number; I had lower than 200MB before). I tried to move apps to SD Card to no avail, that's why I uninstalled the apps.
Hope this helps.
I had the same problem too.
Tried something similar to mbernstein
I had wave launcher still installed since it was an upgrade and i opened up my file manager with it and deleted around 1 GB backup stuff. Then restarted. It didn't work. Restarted again and then it didn't get stuck at the same place
Hope it helps

Worked for me, but, because I have locked my phone with a pattern, when I unlock it sends me direct to "installing app...", so I had to run the Task manager and from it drop down notifications then follow the rest. Thanks mbernstein!

Hi everyone, this is my first post and I precise that I have done as many and accurates research for my problem, without answers (on both XDA Forum and Google). So this is my problem:
I have a Samsung Galaxy SII AT&T(obviously) and since a while, I am unable to download any applications from the market properly. This is how it happens:
-When I accept the terms and launch the download, it keeps on "Downloading" without starting properly and is cancelled after several minutes.
-When I accept the terms and launch the download, it keeps on "Downloading" during several minutes before starting.
-And some VERY RARE times the download starts automaticly just after hitting "Accept..."
I also noticed that when I try to download applications from the play store via the mobile network, all works fine but whenever I go back on the WiFi network, I face the same issue. I have also tried to flash different ROMS(JellyBean). My phone is also rooted.
Thank you for your consideration and help if possible.
Did you try to clear data from Google Play and Google Play Services?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
Yes I did. And it seems that it's a problem with all Google's services:
-I can't watch any videos from on YouTube, same problem of infinite loading without starting.
It's not a problem of slow connection as I download ROMs and other stuf without major or significative network speed problem.
By the way, thank you for your care.
Wipe everything and do a fresh install.
This what I do each time by reflashing the same ROM or flashing others one.
-Wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-format system(when asked)
-wipe dalvik cache
-Flash the rom (and latest gapps when necessary)
-Reboot system... set up my phone and restore user apps via Titanium Backup.
Also of course if you change your DPI to a non stock value or use inverted apps packages that can cause the issue. But in assuming you know that already so if that's not the issue i dunno what it could be.
No inverted apps neither non stock dpi since it happens even from MIUI roms to Shostock3 pasing by AOKP and CM ROMs. I'll try with a different WiFi later as I think it's a problem with my WiFi but it was working fine before those 4 weeks.
Edit: Problem solved! Looks like it was an issue from nowhere.. Anyway, Thank you all for your help, it's good to get one's updates back
Hello, I just installed the Paranoid Android 3.60 ROM that I downloaded via this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27465239.
I am using a Sprint Galaxy Nexus.
The problem I am running into is with the "hybrid properties" in the settings. Everything else with the ROM has worked wonderfully, but I believe the Hybrid is the main reason to run this ROM and I cannot access it. Any time i click the Hybrid Properties in settings, I get "Unfortunately, settings has stopped responding." I have reinstalled and wiped factory and dalvik/ caches.
I am at a loss and any help would be appreciated. From the change log it looks like this may have been an old issue and was apparently fixed..
I have searched the forums here as well as Google and all i could come up with was one other person having this problem and it was never resolved.
Anyone else have this or know how to fix it?

Having the same issue with a Verizon Galaxy Nexus, just installed PA 3.65 and it's doing the same thing. I'll have to admit to not wiping cache and dalvik cache after updating OS. I've tried reinstalling and wiping, but still no "hybrid properties" without the "Unfortunately, settings has stopped responding." message. Did you wipe caches on first install?

Noob issue I think. I had installed 3.60 using one thread and 3.65 using another, thinking Paranoid Android is Paranoid Android, probably not wise to mix? Anyway, backed off to the 3.60 version and it is working again.
Hi,
[Sorry for the long post, but please, bear with me. This issue needs a lot of explaining...]
It's been a few weeks since I have been experiencing this weird problem with my phone. It started when one day I picked up my phone and saw that process.android.gapps had stopped. So I did what everyone does and cleared the cache, wiped the data, but still nothing happened. I went over and cleared it for play services too and that reset my google account (no idea why) and everything came back to normal. Or as I thought it did. A few days later, I again had the same problem in front of me, except that it was not just gapps this time, it was a ****load of a few more apps, including process.???.acore, all giving ANRs. Plus my google account got erased somehow so play store won't login and all other unnecessary stuff.
So I got frustrated and went over to the recovery and tried to factory reset. And this is where I realized something. IT DIDN'T HELP! The phone started as normal and I saw the startup screen. But as soon as I started entering my details, all the ANRs came back simultaneously.
So I did a lot of other stuff to rectify this, all in vain. Skip to 8 hours later. This is where I realized, some of the apps in /data/data had got corrupted and hence nothing was happening. Also, formatting /data resulted in an error, which I HAVE NO IDEA WHY TILL DATE.
So I did a workaround and renamed /data to something so that the android OS could create a new /data, which IT DID on the next reboot! And all was working fine again.
FOR A FEW HOURS.
Again the same ANR, same everything, no access to /data to format it etc etc.
Again renamed and rebooted and reinstalled Blisspop and gapps and everything.
And this has been the scene ever since.
What aggravates the situation?
A REBOOT
Whenever I reboot my phone, be it soft or hard, It corrupts some or the other app in /data. If I'm lucky it's a non essential app. If not, xx.xx.xx has crashed and the phone is unusable. I usually use ES and try to rename for the non essential apps (as deletion isn't possible), but for the essential ones, a reflash with whole /data/data renaming has to be done.
So basically this is the problem. I have no idea why my /data/data corrupts randomly, or whenever I restart. Could it be because I greenify apps? I stopped using deep hiberation but still this occurs. Or could it be a failing internal memory?
Please Help! I am just frustrated. Might go over to G3 soon if this doesn't work out.

Yeah I guess that's what I'll do finally.
Although I'm still gonna try for a few more days to find something out If I can.
I'll post an update here if I do, in-case someone runs into the same problem as me and needs to find a solution later on.
UPDATE 1 - Okay so I reflashed everything to start over (everything same as before, no downgrading) and I think I may have found a solution. So rebooting the system corrupts /data right? Well, I tried powering off and starting instead of rebooting and that seems to work pretty well. No ANRs even after doing this more than 20 times. [NO IDEA WHY, but hey, it works, so good enough]
Although, I had greenify disabled.
Now, I'll try with it enabled and post an update soon.
