Welcome! I used this: http://liliputing.com/2012/01/how-...-on-the-hp-touchpad-cyanogenmod-9-alpha.html . You don't need to install CM7 first. I would recommend the latest CM9 nightly, since I found that the last alpha's wifi can be temperamental. The nightlies are pretty stable. OaT also has a good stable one.
EDIT: corrected link.

Hey yeah the files I'm lookin for are the original files, the novacom drivers and the ACMEinstaller... thats what I need to root it right?
Head over to rootzwiki and check out the Official CM9 thread for the touchpad:
The OP provides links to all you need.
The attached pic contains the link. Not allowed to post links yet
I used to be on the nightlies (was using 8/19 most recently) but have switched to OaTs LnT from 7/29. Its faster and more stable for me. Great rom for the TP.

Thanks bro I really appreciated it, just one quick question ... this is a brand new touchpad... with 3.0.5 on it... If i wanted to install any ICS rom on it, are those all the files I need, from what I understand I need to get the novacom drivers, install novacomdrivers, place the acme installer in there, then mount my TP, create the cminstall folder, then copy the CWM file, the rom, and the moboot in this folder. and then follow instructions? Is that okay? is that it? the thing that is bugging me the most is that I'm not sure if I have to install the acmeinstaller1 first and then ugprade to acmeinstaller2, and if the rom I put there first has to be a CM rom or can it be any other
That sounds good. Acmeinstaller2 is fine, I believe. Any ROM is okay, it doesn't have to be CM.
Acmeinstaller (including V2) assumes the ROM and CWM zip filenames start with 'update-' and you may need to rename the files in the cminstall folder otherwise the Installer won't process them.

Correct, just AcmeInstaller2
To install CM9 on a new touchpad you'll need acmeinstaller2, Moboot for choosing the OS you want to boot when powering on your tablet, gapps for Google apps, and clockworkmod for backups and flashing things in the future.
I recommend following reverend Kyle's videos on YouTube. Look for his CM9 alpha 2 videos where he installs with acmeinstaller2
I'm running the latest nightly and it works great (smoother than alpha 2 and vibration/microphone works!)

If I have RA recovery, I just flash it from there?

There is some problem in the CM addons binaries which you have in /system/xbin. For example, when I try to run nano, I get this error:
Code:
link_image[1995]: failed to link nano
CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE
Same error on trying to run powertop. I think it would similarly affect all the binaries in that zip.
EDIT: OTOH, some binaries like ssh and bash are running without problems.
@Lox_Dev Does this also have the Holiday boot splash screen? I wonder why the FRF85B I got from you had one. Did you put it there yourself or was it really included by Google?
Works on Alpha 2!
Currently being worked on for latest nightly.
THIS IS NOT MY WORK. Just sharing something I found. The site says it should work on all tablets running ICS with CWM.
I've yet to try it due to lack of free time with my TP, but I figured maybe someone else could figure out if it works, since I'm busy.

I tried this a couple days back, I believe I'm the person you are referring to by saying it wasnt working on the Touchpad. I asked the dev and he is looking into it.
I'm trying to fix the installer and I will look into it later today.
I also set up my homescreens, but the thing is that the icons don't align properly and they end up looking bad. I tried it in ADW Ex too as the dev says it works best, but it still didn't work.
Doesn't work with the newest nightly.

So this does work...I just installed it on my touchpad and I was running it with no problem. If you go to the dev's website it tells you to flash your rom again, which wont make you loose any apps, and then flash the first package on the website setup. It will flash and work....now the only problem I have is actually putting the widgets on the homescreen. When I try to move them next to each other horizontally, they overlap :/ But the process on the website does work ^_^
Got this in a PM:

Hmm...I'm using a nightly build. I'd have to check which one I'm specifically using when I get home, but I got the error during the initial flash. I then re-flashed the CM9 nightly rom....and then the first zip package for the MetroUI setup. I didn't restart or anything...I did the ROM flash and then the zip flash. I'll take some screen shots as soon as I get home today.
won't work on AOKP milestone 4 and cherrykang, works on the cm9 nightly.
edit: i have managed to work it all out. ADW Ex launcher has a few limitations in that it won't align the tiles perfectly, anybody know how to sort that?
I have a video of the cwm failure. I reflash cm9 then immediately flash the metro Ui then It aborts.

follow instructions on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623840&highlight=patch
Let us know how it goes.
*P.S.* You will NOT be bricked, at most you will just get a bootloop. Mostly likely consequence of doing it and the patch not working is that your home button will be the back, and back will be home, and possibly no signal. But all should be fixed if you follow instructions in that patch thread.
Thanks for the input i will give it a shoot tonight and report any issues

Thanks for the quick response.
Have you read jcsullins post #4 in his toolbox thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52765164&postcount=4
I haven't run this myself as I removed webos myself and am happy with the results.
Hopefully it will resolve your problem (you may need to run the complete reset again before if trying webos Dr 3.0.5 messed anything up).
Hopefully that will work, otherwise the Dr version you need to run 3.0.0 as that is the only one that correctly sets up the partitioning, followed by 3.0.5 to bring it up to date.
If any of the above suggestions work remember that you will have to muck about with the date to reestablish the license. If you have a problem with that just post again and I will give a link to what I'm talking about.
Or if these options don't work I will post further options but the above is probably enough to get started.
Good luck.

That is why you have a problem. I really think you need to do a bit more reading and I suggest that you start with jcsullins Rom Toolbox thread followed by mybe watching some of Roland's videos.
Equally l am unable to offer help on Roms that are not on the xda/hp forum as I stick to what's here.
Good luck and have fun ☺
I would agree with sstar. Do your reading on this site in the developer forums. From what I understand, the Rom you installed has not been updated since March and there is not much follow up or discussion of it.
Unless you have a specific reason for using this Rom, I would suggest you look for one on this site that is supported and is updated. Getting Android on the tablet is easy enough with Toolbox, but deciding what Rom to use requires some investigation on your part.
You can wipe and recreate the partitions using LVM and then doctor it.
