It is kernEl and no there isnt any other than the one included in cm7

if you have installed a custom kernel u might have to flash da wifi modules included along with the kernel
There's no wifi modules included in kernel. Where do you think can I find it?

For Krsh kernel u surely need to flash wifi modules..look in the kernel thread there's must b a link of wifi module

Just wanna ask if its okay to change the current Kernel of your custom ROM to a new compatible Kernel without reinstalling the whole ROM again?

Yes, if the new kernel is compatible with the rom you are using.
For example - there are devs who made kernels for Stock and CM roms.
If you are using stock rom with custom kernel you can fastboot another kernel for stock rom from another developer.

i m using TheDarkDefender latest kernel and sd-ext works...
in the past i used PacKernel and it supports too.
