I searched a lot for boot animations but couldn't find one that I would like on my phone so I created my own boot animation. Posting it here if someone wants it.

Instructions:
Your phone should be rooted
This is NOT a flashable zip
1. Place/Replace the file in /system/media/ using RootExplorer (or any other root-access explorer)
2. Change the permission of the file in options. Set it rw-r-r. (Just tick em all if you do not understand this)
3. Reboot the phone. Enjoy!
Resolution: 480 x 854
Thanks to Wechy77 who edited the bootanimation by removing all the useless frames and changing the fps to a more suitable number which lowered the boot animation size from 2.25Mb down to just 640kb!
Beautiful :highfive:
Download it now and install
Nice and clean bootanimation
Great job

Beautiful, but it's a little bit bigger, than it it should be.
I edited it, and its 640kb. I can send you to test it, and you can see what i changed.
Really nice and minimal...
But maybe it should be sexier with circles instead of squares in the progress bar
nice boot animation
Similar to the one I made months ago, but how come it over 2MB when mine is just 35KB
You need dropping fps and indexing png to get smaller size.

I just tried that and I think the squares still look better but I guess it's a matter of personal preference. I still attached the circles bootanimation here if you want it.

Wechy77 helped by reducing the size to 640kb! Certainly not 35kb but atleast its not 2MB.

I'd like to either get rid of the words or expand the box that they're in so you can see the whole thing. I'm assuming that they're in an xml file in the twframework somewhere but can't seem to put my finger on it. Any help is greatly apprreciated.
you have to edit the image itself, since its not expanding automatically im gonna assume its not a 9patch image, so you have to add to the bottom of the image so it doesn't get cut off, or you can just remove a part of the image so that it doesn't show the text
Thanks for the reply. I had thought of that and the image is just the icons not the words. I searched through every image looking for those words to no avail
Edit: changed my font and it changed the font of the words so its definitely coded in somewhere

Status bar expanded in twframework res. That file is quirky though. Snag the file from the trigger theme and test it
If you want to edit it yourself, remove the / from each /@layout and just find the layout for the controls and decrease the height.

I tried the switcheroo but it didn't work. I opened the .xml file using notepad ++ but have no clue what I'm looking at. I took html in high school but this is a little over my head. I was hoping to see numbers I could easily change but that was not the case. Thanks for your help!
edit: scratch that didn't decompile it right. Think I got it now....
I finally got it.
I pinpointed that status_bar_header_background and status_bar_header_background_01 were my culprits. I ended up just using the ones from the sgs2 theme and painting them black.
Thanks everyone for the help!

it is from the N73 and idk why i love it but its my fav... does anyone know where i could download a version i could use on my galaxy s 2? I would love thanks! thanks
EDIT**
found the file:
just not good quality when applied to my phone, is there a way to fix the resolution? Im not good with photo editing
How picky are you about how it looks? I can't do anything about the original, but 5 mins in photoshop should produce a very close replica.

that would be sweet
Edit: Ok, here is the 800x480 version of the picture. The caveat is that I can not get it to display properly on my phone. Under the select wallpaper screen it fits perfectly, but then it shows up funky when you look at the actual home screen.
Edit 2: Use this version, but do not crop out the black. For some reason it is only displaying 1/2 of the image, so by adding extra it displays the whole wallpaper cleanly.
Edit 3: If you need a scrollable version let me know.

THANKS! now if only i could get the icons, your the best!
In the main Android forum there is a massive thread full of icon sets. I suggest looking there. You probably won't find something identical, but you may find something similar.

Additional Boot Animations
The first one is similar to the original animation and rotates through all the colors of the rainbow.
View the previous post in this thread for colorful examples!
The second one I took the Cyanogen BootAnimation, removed the "Cyanogenmod" text and replaced it with "xdadevelopers Nabi dev Team"
The last one is "Widescreen" formatted and contains the text "Nabi, the tablet that grows with you!" wiggling/zooming in & out across the screen.
If you like any of these please let me know and/or give me thanks! :good:
Awesome job on these. Like the last two, very creative.

If you (or anyone else) have anything you'd like to see that isn't overly complicated (read "time consuming") let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

There's slightly noticeable slowness on the first playthrough on the larger animations, but, eh....I'm the only one who sits around rebooting the tablets often enough to care at my house.

WOW! I understand this is a rather old thread; I do not see threads addressing these kinds of customizations though!!!
This is EXACTLY what I was searching for!
Thank you VERY much for posting this thread on here (along with the anime loops).
GIMP editor's a little odd to getting used to for me, but I'm sure I'll manage and hopefully create some Sailor Moon animations for boot up and shut down. I do not really care for the "MetroPCS" animation (who does?). Kind of off topic, but: I always modify startup animations (EG: My Rand McNally GPS).
I absolutely love how you can create X number of looped frames and even specify the resolution size (definitely assists with load times / FPS).
Thank you again! I hope you see this message one day.
EDIT: I feel that this thread should be added in my post for anyone else who stumbles upon this AWESOME thread!
You can also add audio to your boot animations (Sailor Moon theme)!
