Relax, the guys in the CM team are really good at what they are doing, just because they hit a wall doesn't mean they wont get past it.
And then he posted this right after.
ATM we have a show stopping bug on the Touchpad with the input system that I haven't been able to workaround. No idea how long it will take

May I ask who is Erik Hardesty ?
It's dalingrin, the main developper of CM7 for our TouchPad (among other projects)
A little bit of reading here or of his twitter would have give you the answer directly

Ridiculous. You are running cm on your tp and don't even know whose hard work it is! Where is the appreciation?
I must be missing something here they haven't even released a beta for cm7 so how can a ics ROM be ready?
They've done a lot of the hardware work already, which will carry over to CM9. When the ICS source dropped, they turned toward developing that into a workable port. That's what the plan has always been. A number of big issues have been fixed since the most recent alpha even, so the lack of a gingerbread-based beta has little bearing on how soon we would see an ICS release.

Dunno if this has been asked but why is there no cm7 for the rezound yet? I know ice cream is the top priority but until we get source the ril will always be the issue. Since we have had GB and i assume source? Cant cm7 come to light with working ril? Im not bashing im just curious as im dying for some true aosp love.
Ok, I've been trying to figure out what "ril" means. I give up
I know ril is something with both the radio and for data.

Radio Interface Layer
RIL is Radio Interface Layer and we don't mess with that on the Rezound because we can't flash them through fastboot without having s-off. on older devices the fastboot was cracked, so we were able to flash radios

Right but whats stopping cm7? Are you saying in order for us to use aosp we need s-off? Im confused. To my knowledge we have gb source.
If anything, I'd be happy if they could get 3G working, baby steps.

Basically, it could be done, but nobody has wanted to bother taking the time to figure it all out given that GB is already pretty old and is going to be replaced by ICS on all Rezounds in the very near future.

He has the KozmiKRuby Alpha v0.1 download link on his twitter page if you're interested in testing..
I flashed it over a modified energy rom, and the only thing that wasn't working for me was wifi.. the overclock is buttery smooth, no heatup, I'm leaving it on- I've tested everything else I can, and everything else seems to work fine(bluetooth, calling, data, etc).

The question is....is it complete or does the bounty towards reverse engineering the wifi drivers have to be proceeded with?

This should make it easier to create CM9 for our device. I'm just curious why the Telus source was released before T-Mobile source.

You and me both
Ill say it again.
Show me a fully functional AOSP ics rom.
Driver issues, Rosie (HTC crap) issues.
As with many devices you're only going to get a half ass version of Google's latest OS.
Only reason we have any ICS based Roms on Amaze is because HTC actually did all the work.
Sorry I respect Hasoon, Whatever that young kid that got chased off, and others amazing work on the handcuffed Amaze. Its just that frankly these threads are full guys begging for ETAs and the devs saying hold your horses! Almost there! When the reality is OEMs have sucked the open out of AOSP. There's very little one can do without climbing massive hurdles anymore. Just face it.
If I'm off base or if there's some spectacular change in reasoning as to why JB will be any different ..please correct me as I'd love to be wrong.
I'm not gonna sell my phone ether I had a buyer but changed my mind at the last min. Hopefully cm9 or 10 is not that far behind...

A kernel dev named kozmikkick said he will have us an overclocked sense kernel likely by tomorrow or Thursday.. but we still need to find someone who develops aosp kernels. And I'm pretty sure the wifi thing won't be the biggest issue.. the workarounds used in the past will likely work this time around too.

Someone said they tweeted faux, the man is a legend in kernels, he should be able to build us a fricking sweet AOSP kernel if we bring it to his attention and he has the full source. :good:
This is not a rant or a complaint thread by any means, just curious. What's the deal with Jelly Bean? Months ago it was stated that JB would be an easy jump from ICS once we got kernel source. Is this not the case? Is nobody working on it? Any insight would be appreciated.
Once again, not a rant thread just trying to sift for information.

Ditto. Take a look at https://github.com/intervigilium for the pieces of Intervigilium's Sensation port and do git diff on files between branches to see what he changed. The only thing you'll need to do extra is to update the RIL for the new android_frameworks_base.
I'm almost inclined to do the Jellybean conversion myself, but at the moment I'm just too lazy.

Are you sitting on a bunch of build fixes?
Because after messing with it, it looks to me that we need the updated msm framebuffer headers to get the latest libhwcomposer and friends to compile. The modified ABI means the kernel needs the updated driver to actually work, and that entails a lot of other intra-kernel dependencies, too.
