Don't worry. The Xperia P update has already been released in many regions, and I believe the updates vor the U, Sola and Go have already been certified by PTCRB.
I'm sure the ICS update will hit your device (or at least a flashable ftf) before the Xperia T, V and J are in the hands of consumers.
and again and again and again the same

Don't worry my friend. Just be patient and wait. Believe me: it's worth it. I was also mad, waiting for ICS on Xperia P. But Sony finally kept it's promise and I now I have a stable and bugfree ICS which is smoother than gb while eating less battery at the same time. Please consider that good development takes some time. Sony won't risk it's good reputation in breaking it's promises. You will get ICS soon.
I even heard some rumors that the 2012 line might get JB. But that will take time!!!
What about JB.

So until Christmas Sony makes me happy :highfive:

ICS Works fine for me except no compatibility with mw600 no sound track id but jelly bean might not change that

BTW xperia is a phone so phone is to make a phonecalls, take picture, browse internet (if that is fully working no problem) , or constant changing operation system, in extreme let transfer that in to computers how often do you change OS in Laptop?

I have motorola xoom running jelly bean and it's running smooth, you can compare the fluidity and smoothness to iOS devices. Jelly Bean is like Windows 7 of Microsoft Windows (fixed version of Windows Vista).

From what I understood by translating this with Google, we'll get Jellybean soon.
http://vnsony.com/threads/2486/
They say that the guy who told them very accurate info about new Sony smartphones(Yuga and Odin) also gave them info that there will be a Jelly Bean update in two weeks.
Well, your thoughts, gentlemen!
I think Xperia S will get support for updates up to Key Lime Pie, so it wasn't something to worry about.
Late October/early November seems most likely for JB on fujis and blues, late November for montblancs.
fujis= xperia s and arco hd
blues= xperia t tx v etc.
montblanc= xperia p u sola
that right?

this is exciting! it is strange though that sony have kept so quiet on this release, as normally they tend to mention an update and then it comes a few weeks later? is there a reason why they haven't confirmed yet either that said handsets will be updated?
thanks

Well I don't know about timing - on Android, Sony hasn't suddenly surprised users with version upgrades like that before, they tend to announce it in advance, and more recently, closer to the launch date as seen with the 2012 phones with ICS. This would be the tightest schedule yet, if they do announce it soon.
Previously, I wouldn't have minded much about Jelly Bean, but I was browsing a 2010 Sony Ericsson phone on 2.1 and it is MUCH faster than my 2012 Sony phone on ICS - so the aim of Jelly Bean to deliver performance and experience improvements of ICS is welcome in my book ... :good:
It's clearly going to happen. Sony have big plans to increase market share this year and promptness of updates is key to getting a god reputation. and Samsung has already got their jellybean updates rolling.....

Guys, Bad News and Good News
Android 4.2 ain't Key Lime Pie, it's just an upgraded version of Jelly Bean, hence, still Jelly Bean, we won't get any official Rom, I mean come'on how much do you think a 1GHz Processor and 512 MB ram' Phone handle? Even ICS was a struggle.
Good News is, it's an Upgraded Version of Jelly Bean, so CM probably will Re-Base their Rom to 4.2, same thing applied to PA, AOKP.

Have you used ICS on a Ray? It runs perfectly well on mine, the problem is not the processor or Ram but the amount of resource hogging bloatware **** that Sony fill phones with ... Get rid of all the crap and the phone handles ICS just fine, it's annoying to hear this old story about the Ray not being powerful enough to run JB etc, yet somehow the V is? Don't believe it just because Sony tell you it.

Stop asking.
The 2011 smartphones can perfectly handle JB because they handle ICS.
JB is lighter than ICS.
Sony is just lasy to make the drivers for JB
Perhaps Sony want to focus on its 2012 models. But I sastify ICS with some mods
i think the answer is no.. our ray will not get stock 4.1/4.2 ROM
sony will not support xperia 2011 anymore, from now sony will focus upgrade on xperia 2012
but overall sony did great on upgraded than other brand..
BTW, if you want to keep get android upgrade, next time when buy a phone, consider to buy "google nexus" phone ..
Hello everyone,
We’d like to bring you up-to-speed with the latest in our Android 4.1 rollout scheduling.
First up, the upgrade plans* for Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V are progressing as planned – these smartphones will start to receive Jelly Bean during February and March.
Next up, Xperia P, Xperia J and Xperia go will be upgraded from the end of March. Then Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia ion and Xperia acro S will follow in the subsequent weeks.
We’re particularly excited about the Sony Xperia Jelly Bean features and functionality – we look forward to bringing you more information on this in the New Year.
The decision has been taken not to upgrade Xperia U, Xperia miro, Xperia tipo, and Xperia sola beyond Android 4.0.
Feel free to drop a comment below, and keep your eyes on the blog as we’ll be sharing more detailed news/updates as soon as we can.
*Availability and rollout timing will vary by market and customer variants

hahaha. EPIC SONY. JB for devices with single core cortex a5 and gpu adreno 200 !!!! NO JB for devices with dual core cortex a9 and gpu mali 400. THAT IS a joke.
why Sony give JB for lower devices like Xperia J?
Sola is a dualcore, is it suitable for JB?

i have used xperia sola for 5 moths (UL bootloader and root), imo this device is handle daily job (sms, call, whatsapp, etc) not so good. lag after you install too many program especially when someone call (need 2-3 seconds for the answer display appear), but overall (gaming, music, browsing) is good. and FYI 512 MB ram only accessible around 384 MB by the device, so don't expect it too much
If u don't care about having the latest software then its worth the buy. Because anything beyond 4.1 is uncertain.

FXP release cm9.1 rom at weekly pace, quite good dev support
But, I have lost faith in sony mobile cause my sola has random hang/reboot issue.
Still I'm not sure about the reason, maybe hadware/RAM/NAND, maybe carrier/SIM, maybe software.
It's a pretty good looking, and UI well designed, but I plan to buy a Lumia to replace it.
Just FYI.
The phone is nice.. not as bad as the above repliers. I used stock rom, eXperience v2, CM 9 based, and now Project GX v2.1. IMO The last one really stood out. I have installed many apps inlcluding Currents, Fb, Fb mssger, TOI, Pulse, Flipboard and half of them stay on my Homescreen. Still no lag. Much better roms will come out.
Otherwise there is always the HTC Desire X.
the incoming call will lag when you are playing games or surfing internet.
I faced this problem.
And i got a missed call cause the answer the call didn't show up and my phone ringing but i can't do anything... :/
others ok,this phone not bad.

My Sola runs daily tasks quite well. I even play heavy games like NFS MW and GTA VC.
First thing, this stock ROM is ****. The lag in Call and messaging app is because they are inefficient and bulky.

So, rumour has it that Key Lime Pie, aka Android 5.0 will be bringing a number of optimisations which will allow it to run significantly better on phones with 512MB of RAM...
On 28 February 2013, we learned from Android Central that Google is working with the Linux 3.8 kernel, which gives rise to the notion that this kernel might make it into Android 5. One improvement that the 3.8 kernel brings is lowered RAM usage, which would mean a snappier phone with better multitasking.
On 13 June 2013, in posting its story that Android 5.0 would be seeing a November release, VR-Zone also claimed that the new OS will be optimised to run on devices with as little as 512MB of RAM.

If there's any truth in this rumour, and given the importance of emerging markets such as wearable tech like the Sony SmartWatch and Google's own Glass, it would certainly be beneficial to all concerned if Android requires less hardware. If you're looking for parallels then look no further than Windows, which was on a very similar path, growing release after release and demanding ever more hardware until finally they got the hint (well, sort of...).
Whether any of this will mean anything to us is debatable at present as even getting a fully-working version of 4.1.2 is not an easy task when you lack the required source and/or libraries to build against. I'm hopeful though, that if our amazing developers can make headway with Jelly Bean, then there is hope for Key Lime Pie...
i heard a rumor that Lime pie comes around October.
but like i said im not sure and i hope XP get it also, because it have 1 GB ram
