Noticed that large text message fail. I was using Stock EH03 Gingerbread so I tried Superclean3 Milestone2 (nice rom) and have the same issue. ALso noticed pic messages work on and off. Is this a known issue and is there a fix?
Thanks

When I receive text messages from my contacts, their "sent time" is always behind by 5 hours. The messages were not delivered 5 hours late. It's just the time on the message is displayed wrong. The message I replied to them displays the correct time.
My brother's vibrant seems to have the same problem. It's not a big deal, but it's quite tedious to read messages when they are not lined up in the right order.
When I odin'ed back to stock ROM, this error disappears. However, when I flash Axura, Obsidian, the new Nero ROMs, they all produce the same messaging time error.
Is there anyone else experiencing the same problem? Could someone help me out here?

I fixed the problem by downloading "SMS time fix" app from the market.
Apparently this error only happens to certain Rogers users in Canada.
I'm running Bamf GB 2.1 and I experienced the same issue on Bamf sense 3.0 GB rc3.
received messages are not displayed in order as they are received. i have to scroll up and down checking time-stamp in order to find newest message. anyone else experiencing this?
Go to the market download SMS Timefix and problems solved, it's a known issue with GB
Thank you, it was driving me crazy!
this solution worked for me for a while but now my phone "figured out" how to get around the fix! now when I receive messages the time is off! basically I received a message around 6:01, responded, received another message and realized that messages are not in order. I checked time stamp on my 6:01 message and it shows 7.01! it happened more than once.
I tried reinstalling sms time fix at no avail.
Hi all,
My question relates to sending texts over 160 characters. It works sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't.
I'm on the latest teamhacksung 6.1 version of ICS with default kernel. My modem is ED05.
Sometimes I'll send texts that would be 2, 3, or 4 pages and it gets through just fine. Other times, I'll send a 2 page text to the same recipient and it bounces back with a red triangle (standard messaging app).
Does anyone have this experience, and any suggestions to fix it?

I use ec09 modem and haven't had this problem and I send long texts all the time. Try eh03 or ec09 modem and it should help. I'm not going to promise that it'll fix, but its worth a shot.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
You can try a different radio, but a workaround that works 100% of the time is going into the messaging app > settings then check "SMS split". It'll automatically split your long texts into multiple messages, and while I'd like it if longer texts just worked every time, this is at least a decent workaround.
Thanks. I appreciate the reply. I know SMS split works, but I'm just curious if my issue occurs for everyone else =)
I've never had problems with the eh03 radio so if you would like to give it a go, here is the eh03 odin file

I was curious about this too, since I wasn't sure if it was just me but it seems to be a pretty widespread issue.
Different radios do nothing for me as far as this issue goes.
I was wondering if anybody else has these issues. I am running a JellyBean rom. I installed Handcent but when I try to send a text message with it, the sending cursor comes on and stays on and the message never sends. So I installed ChompSMS. With Chomp I can send a message. However when the message is longer than 160 and it tries to split it or convert to mms, it won't send the message. I have found these issues only to be present in JB. They are not there in ICS. Anyone else have issues with them on a JB rom?
So I flashed back to stock T-Mobile Android 4.3 for the HTC One and now I am having problem with MMS, specifically group texts. I received a number of group texts while on wifi calling and half of them never downloaded. A MMS message box shows up under the individual contact (presumably the person who sent it) with an option to download. I click download and it never completes. Sometimes it will fail and show a red exclamation next to their name.
I was on Android Revolution HD 9.4 (Android 4.1.2) as recently as yesterday morning and wifi calling was working flawlessly with MMS / Group Texts.
I've seen that on multiple phones all running custom roms that I've made APN changes to. I don't really use Wi-Fi calling so in my case it's not related but I've found rebooting causes the messages to download almost every single time. I know it's not a solution but maybe it helps before someone else posts something that fixed it.
