Yeah it wants me to install iLivid to download. No thanks. I'd really like the inverted GAPPS, but only from a trusted download site.

I didn't have to download anything, it's just one of those chains of monetized redirects to download 'bays' that makes you pay if you want it faster than 14kbps or if you want to download more than one file every day and a half. Personally I think people should be kicked in private areas for uploading anything to those, given the number of non-throttled free options, but whatever. Just click one of the Download links at the bottom. The downloads work (on Firefox anyway) and there are no strings aside from it being slow as balls.

*SGS3*UPDATED!*[ROM]ICS 4.0.3-SalmanRom.V4.2 [AUGUST/5]*i777*AWESOME

Here is a rom I ported that brings the SGS3 to your SGS2. The rom has most of the features of the new galaxy s3; it is best touchwiz-ICS based rom I found. I ported it with a UCDL5 modem and Siyah kernel. Also, I included NFC. The update has major improvements and makes you s2 into an actual s3. My dad has an s3, and this rom is almost identical to it. This developer is amazing, and he has moved to galaxys2root.com to share his updates.
Here is the flash-aholics tool thanks to ktoonez:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1484223
Also, all credit goes to the developer Ali Al-salman, who has now moved to galaxys2root.com to share his amazing updates. Also, see the link from a rom review from zedomax, who allowed the developer to share his rom on his site:

Make sure to download the cracked s-Voice and floating video player .apk files from his site!
Hit the thanks button if you like it!

I will keep this updated with the developers thread.
yea that extras pack has some cool apps/features. I hellraised it the other day too its definitely worth to try out. Also to get svoice working I grabbed the one from our themes and apps section and it works perfectly. That touch live wallpaper is really slick and ofcourse the floating video app. Only thing is it kind of shows us we definitely need a bigger screen to really take advantage, but still very cool.

For the rooting issue, download the root access zip and flash it. The extras are found once you click download salman rom on the develper's site and it is a zip file. Unzip it and copy the folder to your phone. Don't flash them; they are apk files, so just run all the apps.

Try wiping cache and dalvik cache in cwm because never had a fc yet.

Instructions:

It's integrated into your Google search now. Press the google search button and it should have replaced the normal google search...
So I must install the old version first? I press search button but nothing changes.

So with the voice search working Google Now should be the same as on JB devices? Meaning it should have the colourful background?
I had installed it previously with these instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749045) and then updated with the zip made by the OP. Worked well and looked just like the Google Now on my Nexus 7 (colourful background).
But then I updated my Energy rom version and google now was wiped. Tried to follow the same steps again and I can't replicate the colourful background! it's just the white background. Any ideas?

An easier way, kinda, to install is to ... First, rename OR remove the GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk. Then flash .zip created by sportstar89. Confirmed working 100%
Edit: Confirmed working only 98% back button still not backing out of app.
Edit: This Guy created a list of various commands you can give to GNow.

Just an FYI about the CRT-OFF Animation. Like most of the other CRT-OFF MODs, it is a little tricky for some users. From what I see, you need to have Auto-Brightness OFF for it to work properly. I also heard that sometimes you need to be connected to WiFi as well for it to work. I never use Auto-Brightness, nor am I ever disconnected from the internet (thanks to Verizon forcing us all to give up our unlimited data plans---> is there an emoticon for a middle finger?), so I never have issues with the CRT-OFF.

[Guide] Samsung apps for Google Edition [updated 6/30]

Here is a guide to install the samsung apps that you want to your phone.
This isn't everything. Just the ones that were not included with Scotts CleanRom. I need a dev or others to help me get other APK's like for camera and dialer.... things that were already installed on clean rom. - but this should work for some others.
I am no developer, just a flashaholic. if someone can go through these and help me pick out the ones that are "needed" and add others, it would be very much appreciated.
This works with adding SOME other apk's as well
1. Download the zip - HERE
2. Extract the zip
3. All Samsung Apps -> System -> App
4. Delete the apk's you don't want
5. Archive the Meta-inf and System folders
6. Reboot and flash the new zip
7. GOLD!!!!
8. help a dev and donate to them or at least THANK Them
-------------------------

Does this mean we'll be able to use samsung's camera on the google edition ROM (once OP gets the APK)?

The Google edition firmware is not AOSP, it is, for lack of a better description, TW firmware without any of the TW visual frameworks or assets. In this sense, think of TW as Samsung's compiled android code, not a UI.

This is kind of what we've been clamoring for for a long time, yes: optimized Samsung kernel/code, AOSP app/visual framework. It still doesn't quite solve the timely updates issue, as so much of that is muddled by OEM testing, and especially in this country carrier testing, but it's a step in the right direction, because the amount of app/framework development for a newer version is cut down by only having Google apps.

Dubbsy, how much of this has been added to your Oct 4.3 ROM that I am happily running this morning?

Hi, what about the samsung audio recorder app? thats really useful for my school studies!!

Katsbeat 4.4 T0lte

This is a port from the CM build of 4.4 however everything to do with CM has been removed. Swapped DSP for Awesome Beats, swapped CM file manager for for Root Browser, swapped out camera for moto x camera, swapped out browser for dolphin. Removed cm settings and replaced with vanilla nexus settings.apk, added in Sony x4 video player, Nexmusic and 4.4 gapps included in ROM and a nice Beats Audio Blizzard boot animation.

Be patient it takes a little time

Rom seems a little bigger than most, are Gapps included? Or do we still need to flash them too? Downloading now to give it a shot.

Great mods in the rom. Do we need to flash through cwm and install superuser like other 4.4 roms?

Just installed and so far so good. Only two things ive noticed so far. I get an error each time I reboot about the Qualcomm time stopping. And if you try to swipe with the keyboard it will just disappear. But apart from that very slick and smooth. I'm loving the Moto X camera

I'm a big fan of the moto x cam. Best thing to come out of Motorola I had the Qualcomm error once but not since. I think its the timeservice.apk I took from another device. Just need to put the t0lte one back in that's just a guess though. Have u tried any other 4.4 ROMs with swipe? Just curious if they have the same issues. I appreciate the feedback so quickly. It is pretty vanilla at the moment but you gotta start somewhere

I have the same qualcom error. Comes Evert 5 min or so. Else it seems responsive and nice!
Edit. Aosp keybored crash on swipe as reported before.

Sorry about that that's quite a lot. I'll swap out the timeservice.apk and see if I get the same error. I had it once on bootup but never again so I didn't think it was a big issue.
Again apologies.

Hey no worries. At all. Always love trying out new Roms. Vanilla is good. Nothing wrong with that at all. And with xposed working again things are looking good. No stress about the error. It's not a biggie at all. As for the keyboard Ive only had that issue once on an early build of 4.4 but I don't use stock long enough to really worry ?? great work though brother. Very nice.

Any issues with proximity sensor not working at all ? In all other 4.4 roms I have tried this has not worked at all, meaning I have had to turn the screen off during calls to stop unintended button presses.

I'll have to put a link up for superuser. Flash that (you can grab it from any n7105 4.4 rom) so u get root permission and delete timeservices.apk and problem solved that'll save another 300mb download for you.
Downloaded rom - installed by TWRP v2.6.3.7 coming from lion rom 4.3 - no phone service and says baseband unknown. any ideas please - as this has been repeated no matter how many times I installed the rom. I feel it is sleek.
