Boot download mode flash stock rom via PDA in Odin .

A lot of us have been to this scenario, panicking at first, but a very good sign is that it will boot to recovery.
Download a nice safe stock Rom from samfirmware and flash using Odin. When your at that point, your phone is back up and grinning then you can cf-root and flash custom till your heart's desires, till you mess up again, then just start from the beginning again.
Good luck and let us know how you get on
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
If its stuck at the boot logo it is usually down to some corrupt data.
You need to be using odin to flash a safe rom. When it starts to boot long press power to turn it off, then boot into recovery and wipe data (even stock recovery can do this) then reboot again and it should boot fine.
As already said I had this panic... Pull the battery then do a wipe/ factory reset then it will boot fine

Try reading the posts. Download Odin and stock rom. You can find odin somewhere at xda and stock firmware at sammobile.com. Use odin to flash as stock roms are not flashable via cwm.
What have you flashed and how .

well things dont go right most of the time, i have flashed many roms, but this is the first time i encountered something like this, i think something is corrupted in the boot/cpu/gfx/internal sdcard system, as you can see from the ss, this is from recovery, i did full/wipe/flash/stock/custom/kernals etc... the system crashes at the Samsung Galaxy SIII boot screen and sometimes crashes at the SAMSUNG logo, every update/zip i try install from external sdcard crashes partway. I can only flash .tar files from odin with success, but if it executes the scripts from s3... i get lucky!
Goes to to play and instal triangle away... This will reset acounter... Hopes its help you..

you can flash stock firmware and your phone will work
download it from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9300&r=7#regiona
just choose register and choose your country and download it
and flash it with odin
then do a factory rese (if u dont do it u will be stuck in the samsung logo )
and ur fone should work
1. i cant install any apk since it will not bootup...
2. any rom i flash thru odin, branded/unbranded etc... from kies/sammobile etc... will not boot at all.
3. i think the boot loader is corrupted?
Looks like it's stuck at wanting to install a OTA update maybe.
Try this:
Flash CWM recovery with root adb access (CF-Root should neatly do the job), once in CWM fire up a shell session via "adb shell" from the PC and run these commands:
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 bs=4096
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p10 bs=4096
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 bs=4096
Then do a factory reset / data wipe from the recovery's menu and reboot
(what the above does: it wipes the OTA, preload and cache partitions)
Would a new sd card work? If you can get into recovery, all you need is a new sd card with a rom on it?

I am sure, this has been posted somewhere, but am new to this forum and cannot find it. please bear with me.
I installed CM7 on my Galaxy ace and tried to restore back to stock ROM. the restoration failed, the phone is now in a bootloop (the samsung logo flashes once every two seconds). I tried getting the phone into recovery mode but it does not get that far.
However, I am able to get the phone to download mode and tried loading the stock 2.3.3, 2.3.5 ROM via ODIN. Both times, ODIN passed the installation. but my phone has not improved. can anyone please help?
PS: consider me a beginner.

yeah. just tried that. I downloaded the file and chose that as PDA and flashed my phone with odin.. I am still getting the same problem. I guess, the warranty is void since I installed CM7.. so what to do now?

the same happened to me also.
in the past i've flashed my ace with cm7 and wanted to go back to the stock rom.
flashed the stock rom with odin but the phone stuck in a boot loop.
if you have flashed stock rom with odin..
do this..
remove the phone batteries and let them out for a minute.
after that insert the battery again and goto the Recovery mode by holding the power and the home button.
once you are in recovery (Clockworkmod Recovery).
do a data/factory wipe.
a cache wipe
and a Dalvik Wipe.
and reboot the phone.
hope you phone boots normally.
Am using ODIN version 4.38.
downloaded the original CM7 version from this site ported by grif (Kooper Kang something).
When I had problems with that, I tried to revert to Stock rom 2.3.3 from sammobile.com
To answer other question, I am NOT able to go to the recovery menu. Hence cannot wipe cache, reset etc. The phone restarts before that. The only mode I am able to switch on is the Download mode. Even if I reload the ROM with ODIN showing a "PASSED" at the end of the process, my phone is still a brick.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help.
Seriously, I've seen this before. It can only be fixed by the service centre... flash the stock rom and take it in under warranty if you still have it.

Let me understand 100%....
If you have battery pulled and then cannot boot into recovery or download mode. Correct ?
But you can power on, but stuck on the boot screen. Correct ?
If this is both correct, maybe your boot partition is corrupted and without download mode or recovery the only hope is the USB jig to force it to boot into download mode and then you can flash official firmware with Odin.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
BOTH right ,I can get into download or recovery mode when power on , but stuck on the boot screen. When I charge it , the battery logo isn't appear.
what should I do??
Please explain what exactly steps you were doing that lead to your situation. Maybe others will have another idea.
Try the USB jig to force your phone into download mode and flash firmware with Odin as previously suggested.
If the jig doesn't work. You're bricked and only a JTag or Samsung service center can now help.

I FLASHED the offical room found in firmware.COM ,after that , it reboot and get into the recovery mode itself.
Excellent, seems we misunderstood each other , otherwise you would not have been able to flash anything.
Now. Just flash root kernel (with cwm included) and you'll be good to flash your favorite rom.
Don't forget to full wipe before the rom flash (system.data.cache.dalvik) and you will be trouble free. First boot will take a while so be patient.

Nothing to panic about, first of all, FLASH A STOCK FIRMWARE..and it will boot into the recovery showing loads of errors, well the problem has not been solved,clearly..
Now, Flash a Stock Kernel Via ODIN..Or a CF-Root kernel as suggested by one of the users! Also,if u still face problems, In the Question & Answer Section of the Forum For SGS2,u will find :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458
&

please go thorough the respective threads, read and you will find a solution and, make sure ur battery does not run out
Try flashing a custom root ROM such as Litening ROM v2.6. You can flash .tar directly with Odin. It will install CWM Recovery and siyahkernel. Give it time to first boot maybe 5 minutes ... be patient

As long as you can get in downloadmode you`re oke. Look om www.sammobile.com/firmware for the stock rom you need (country or region you live in) and flash it with Odin. See item 3 in my signature for a detailled tutorial how to do that. You might need a jig however, but try getting in downloadmode manualy for now.

GT-i9300 stuck at the startup logo
Hi Guys
My GS3 is stuck at the boot logo. I've read and done all but with no luck,
First problem:
EFS error:
"Fake IMEI (usually 004999010640000)
Not registered to network
Fake Serial Number (usually 0000000)"
Now: stuck on boot logo.
I followed the forum for GT-i9500 thinking this would resolve my efs error. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2392632
I did the following:
1. installed PhoeniX.ROM.EFS.Backup.S4
2. Extracted the efs backup tar file & created a folder in the root called efsbackup & copied all extracted files to it.
3. Used Root Explorer to copy all files to the efs main folder. overwriting all.
4. Used the terminal:
su
busybox chown 1001:1001 /efs/nv_data.bin
busybox chmod 06755 /efs/nv_data.bin
5. rebooted.
nothing happened I was still stuck with the efs error
Now I entered safe mode, and nothing i could do, used the hold power button + restart.
now I'm in my second problem, stuck at the boot logo.
I can go to recovery & download mode....
Please help, i really need it hey

I realize it's Saturday, July 26, 2014 - But I had this exact same problem a moment ago; I got out of it by flashing a different recovery with Odin v3.09. I've got soft bricked staring down "Recovery Booting" and that's it. I had download mode available, so went to CWM 6.0.4.5 from TWRP 2.7.1.0. I must admit I thought flashing my HTC Titan I via Goldcard was hard, but this is ridiculous which my SG3 has presented just to get something other than Android Recovery 3e. I got Knox disabled, the device rooted despite being 4.3, but it begs the question what's the point of updating to 4.4.x if going backwards becomes an act of God doing it. Update: Another attempt did not fix the booting problem; however it is a solution to get out of the recovery booting and boot into a normal startup and back to your phone being usable from whatever launcher you use (Nova in my case) It will return to normal startup once you do this if it becomes necessary to do so, which is a bit of a sigh of relief. I'm about at wit's end. One problem gets solved but the moment I ran Towelroot which really worked, new issues keep popping up. Is there a way to look at the bootloader or what OS update created this Knox monstrosity and made our lives much harder than it has to be. I don't mean to sound like I'm asking a stupid question but is there an apk or a procedure within whatever flavor recovery we use that will perform the equivalent of the Task29 we use to perform on the HD2, something that will wipe these devices down to their baby butts and start over; thanks?

Hello.
This is urgent. I need this phone to work as soon as possible
I'm new to the modding scene, and I have decided to install 5.1.1 Lollipop on my Samsung SII GT-i9100.
I tried to download this ROM off this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/rom-cyanogenmod-12-t2955551
It says I need :"Kitkat Compatible Recovery". I suspect this was the problem as I had Jellybean 4.1.2, not any KitKat version but I was attempting to install Lollipop 5.1.1 (if any of this makes any sense at all).
This is the page that I found after googling "KitKat Compatible Recovery": http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/install-an...ible-cwm-recovery-galaxy-s2-i9100-how-1434170
The page says to flash "GT-I9100_JB_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.2.9.tar" onto my gt-i9100 using Odin, which is what I did.
When the flash was completed and I saw the "PASS" message in Odin, the page said the phone should reboot automatically. This did not happen. When I tried booting manually, I was shown "Samsung Gallaxy SII GT-I9100" with a yellow triangle and exclamation mark underneath. Then the boot sound played but the screen stayed black. After this the phone screen stayed black and did not boot.
I did some searching on how to remove said triangle, but in all the examples I have found the phone booted. Mine didn't.
All I'm asking is if someone knows how to fix my phone back to normal, or a redirect to a link where this issue is already addressed.
Thanks for your help.
P.S. Recovery and Download are accessible normally

When you boot into recovery which version do you have? If it is the 6.0.2.9 CWM, then flash the CWM 6.0.4.5 mentioned (from recovery) then reboot back into recovery(not system). You should now have CWM 6.0.4.5. Now from this recovery, do a full wipe(factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache(from advanced in menu) and format system. Then flash the rom and gapps(if you want them). Then reboot to system.
If you have the stock 3e recovery, you need to enable root access. Let us know if this is the case
I have CM v5.8.1.8, but I flashed 6.0.2.9.
That's weird
Don't worry about the triangle for now, just goto recovery flash a lollipop rom with gapps, after you are in the rom just use the triangle away app and remove it (I have done this loads of times) but be sure you have the correct KitKat recovery or this might not work.

Could you explain how to flash it? It's a .zip file not .tar.
If you mean that I should put the .zip in the root of my phone, I can't do that as I when I plug in my phone to my PC I can't access root. (I suspect this is because my phone is not booted and I can't get it to boot)

I know this much, but the problem is that I don't have a ROM on my phone, and I can't access root so I can't place it there. I see an option called "sideload" in the recovery menu, but I don't know what this means and how I could use it.
I have flashed the .tar file you attached. Now I can't access recovery mode.
Okay I've managed to enter recovery by removing the battery and going into download, pressing down-volume to boot and then entering recovery normally. Now what.
I can now enter recovery. What do i do now

GUYS I got it to work. I flashed the two files from the description of this video, and used cm-kernel-09-05-2015-TWRP-2.8.6.0 to flash both of these files. It took some firguring out, but I got there in the end. The ROM is Lollipop 5.1.1 with CyanogenMod version 12.1-20150504-UNOFFICIAL-i9100.
Thanks for all the help you guys supplied, I couldn't have done this without you.
Now enjoy lollipop
