sms back and restore in google play

In order to store your SMS on the cloud (on your gmail account precisely), you can use "SMS Backup +"
This is a free app, you just have to log into your gmail account and your SMS will be automatically saved on gmail. You can read them from any device connected to internet and you can also restore them on any android phone.
If you prefer to save them on your microSD card or in your internal storage, Titanium Backup Pro can do that easily.
Hope I helped
Also, if your phone is rooted you can use titanium backup which can backup sms to an xml file and can later be restored to any sms application.

Hi
Do you need to full wipe data if you are are on stable CM7 to go the nightlies, because my mate is on stable he wants to go to the nightly but he didn't save his contacts on google account, he saved on phone. Can someone suggest me a program how to make a nice backup for contacts.
Thanks

You can move from stable to nightlys without a wipe in theory, make sure to take backups.

Nandroid for the whole system, titanium backup for system/user apps and data.
Sms backup+ for sms and call log (syncs to gmail account, other programs may sync locally).
You can export contacts to sdcard (I think).

Is there any app (or way) to backup contacts individually?
I tried many apps (including inbuilt contact backup) but all of them backup all the contacts which include my google and facebook contacts, when i switch to a new ROM and restore them my contact-book gets messed up.
try netquin ............

if you have permanent internet connection, I suggest to sync it with your google contacts: contacts.google.com

How do I do this? I am used to itunes lol
I just need everything that I backed up from my note on my s3.
I have NOTHING
Settings->Accounts&Sync->[your account]->Sync contacts
It would help if you included what tool(s) you used for the backup. Nandroid and Titanium will be difficult at the lesat since you cannot replace the apps

your google account (gmail) that you used for your note should sync your contacts, calendar, music (if you used google play music on desktop), browser, and photos to any android phone that you sign in with, if you had sync turned on . No apps though.

Okay, something that no one has mentioned to you is that you have to transfer your SIM contacts or phone contacts to Google and then it will sync from then on.

If your contacts were secured via your Google account, you can easily restore by syncing your device with the account
Hope this was helpful

Anything else?
Free is preferred
Tried the TB Pro edition and can't find the option to upload my whatsapp database file to G drive
Personally I do everything manually but tb does have the option to backup to box, dropbox and Google drive and you can set autobackup as well. Just dig around a bit and you'll find all the settings
