Hello everyone, my Xperia S is plug it to the computer and I miss the companion PC firmware upgrade 6.1.A.2.45, for nothing when I plug and starts the update says there is an error and closes. Since then the phone will not start and the red light goes off when I connect. It turns out that if I leave 15 min loading automatically turns on and get the sony logo but stays there. I have 5 minutes to do what I have to do it at 4 or 5 minutes turns off and I have to do the same to try again. My question is that I can do in those 4 or 5 minutes to serve me at least boot or something to so able to flash it and then put it all back. I tried with the off button and the volume UP but goes SONY logo.
PS: I tried to reinstall / repair the firmware with PC companion, SEUS and the FlashTool but when going for half the repair fails me (I guess it's because the battery is not completely full). Is there any way to repair only the kernel or boot sector to see if it can be for that? or I have to completely reinstall the firmware?
Thanks in advance .. and forgive my English I'm from Spain.
Simple, wait until the baterie die, after this charge your xperia and when the bateries is fully charged unplug your charger and plug your xperia in flash mode and flash any firmware from pc, this happened to me and i used this, that probaly will work fine
Sorry nas english too. I am brazilian
Ps: not have any way to bring your cell back to life without flash the full firmware because in this case your firmware is full corrupted

thanks
Can you boot your devince into fastboot mode? By turning the device off. Then hold the volume up key and plug in the usb cable to your host machine. A blue LED will illuminate.
If you can do that, you should be able to flash your firmware from there. You could possibly try flashing boot.img from FXP136 CM9.1 and installing that on your device. Or you can get unrooted original firmware if thats what you want.

Hold the volume up/down buttons, and the power button until you get the three vibes, then plug in your power cord, it should start to charge, once charged you may be able to complete flash.

Hello comrades,
I have xperia x10 mini pro. I rooted phone with Flashtool and installed CWM. I tried to boot it in flash mode (turned off phone, back button held and plugged in USB into the phone), but what I get is that my phone turned on always, like that I pressed Power button.
Earlier I couldn't boot it into the flash mode and I got that I charging battery, but after I installed CWM, phone always turns on.
Due to, I can't re-flash it because it always turns on. I tried with flashtool, PC companion, SEUS but all software need that I turn off phone and then hold back button and plug in usb and what I get is turned on phone. Please help me how to fix this problem.
I would like to re-flash it to stock 2.1.1.A.0.6 (2.1-update1).
Phone turns on even if I just plug in usb to phone (one end is in the PC and when I plug in other end into the phone, phone turns on). What is wrong guys?

Happened to me b4 if u want to repair with pc comp just remove the battery till u reach connection step then quickly connect battery and cable (nvm the cover) and hold back button when connecting if u do fast enough will work
sent from my u20i xperia x10 mini pro running mini cm9 3.0.2 on nAa ics 3
THX nAa. VERY MUCH!!!
Leave your phone plugged in and press POWER-HOME and BACK all together, as soon as the screen turns completelly black (backlight off too) releast POWER and HOME, and leave the back-button pressed, that will probably work too.

How do you mean until I reach connection step, where should I reach connection step?
You take out the battery, then you go into PC Companion and follow the steps to repair your phone, until it asks to connect your phone in flash-mode.
Then do as he said (put the battery in etc.)

What do you think, what will happened if I wipe it using CWM? Can I brick it on that way?
If you mean formatting your phone, so you don't have a system on there anymore... that probably will give you a brick. Flashmode is a hardware feature, implemented to install firmware and enable reparations to your phone's software.
Deleting everything you can will not magically solve your problem, as far as i know.
It might help if you get mad at the phone and abuse the back-button by repeatedly pressing it when connecting the phone.

Does this mean that I have hardware problem. Phone works without any problem.
Somehow it doesn't detect you pressing the back-button, maybe there is some dust or dirt inbetween the contacts or something, since you flashed sucessfully before i don't think it's a serious hardware-problem.

I didn't flashed it before, I couldn't do that. I couldn't unlock bootloader, because I couldn't boot it in flash mode (phone just show that battery charging), after installing CWM now phone even don't show that battery is charging (it turns on when I plug in USB in the phone without holding any button). This is nightmare!
You are still on the original firmware then?
I mean, your phone still works?

Yes, I am on original firmware and phone still works, but I have problem to boot it in flash mode. When I plug in USB cable in the phone it turns on, like that I pressed POWER button. I don't press any button, but when I plug in usb cable 10-20 seconds and phone is on.
Yes, because your phone detects the usb-cable getting plugged in, even when it's off, it thinks you want to charge it, so (normally) it loads the kernel in order to start the charging-process, that is normal behaviour. I have been on a kernel that didn't support that feature, and it booted into the full rom before it started charging.
In short: the usb-port also functions as a power-button, sort off
Does the back-button work normally when you're on the firmware? (Like, open the app-drawer, pressing back-button should close it?)

Yes, the back button works perfect, closing apps (not close apps, but back to the phones "desktop"), back to previous pages in browser...
I am concerned because, before I installed CWM , when it was OFF and plugged in on USB, phone just showed black screen and when I clicked on some button I could see that battery is charging, that was all. Now, when I plug in USB it turns on like I pressed POWER button.
And off course never booted in flash mode because it turns on

What is app-drawer, I don't know what is that.
oh, that's the bit where you find all your installed apps, the grid you see when you press on the little triangle on the bottom of your desktop, or swipe up on the desktop.
I honestly don't know why your phone won't go into flash-mode though. Maybe try to take out your battery for about 10 minutes so your phone gets rid of all charge and static, and then try again.

I solved problem about POWER-ing on when I plug in USB. I installed new ROM "MiniCM7Pro_V21_Paul_XXX" via CWM because I didn't need to boot it in flash mode and now when I plug in USB I got that it charging battery and orange led diode.
But I can't boot it in flash mode even with new ROM, all the time orange led diode when I hold back button and plug in USB. I wiped out all date except something about "battery" from Advanced CWM options.

In flashtool select the Rom you want to flash
Remove battery
Insert USB cable
When software asks you to press back, hold back while putting battery back in, should go straight to flash mode and flash

Hi guys,
I am currently trying to repair my friend's ST25i Xperia U, he encountered random crash and the phone won't turn on. I have tried to charge the phone but no reaction from the phone itself. if I pressed the lock button it only turn on the red LED for a second and nothing happens. I think I am having a problem with the kernel that it won't let the battery charged.
I am familiar with flash tool, when I tried to flash the device will not get into either fast boot or flash mode. IF i connect the phone to PC via USB(holding down up/down for either fastboot or flashmode), it only turn the red LED for a second.
anyone can help? I am currently trying to only charge the battery via universal battery charger, hoping that it is charged and can enter fast boot or flash mode so i can flash the device.
my friend said that it was running android 2.3.6, having a problem and sent to repair center upgraded into 2.3.7, then this random crash happened. I want to flash it to ICS by the way. I had the stock rom ready to flash.
Is there any flashing method that does not require a battery?
sorry for the long post, I hope you guys can help me with flashing

Load the stock ics ftf in flashtool.
when it asks to connect the cable
HOLD volume down key and connect

there is no way you can flash the phone without battery and the is the led flashing 3 times when you press the power button?
the problem is with the kernal and it is not charging the phone in offline mode and the only way is to use the Universal charger or flash the phone by using any other battery from a similar phone report after you do it

well the universal chraging method did not work, and no one uses xperia U here. hard to find a battery. can you confirm if using battery from similar phone will work?
regarding the led--it only flashes once, and red. this happens when it is plugged into pc/charger.

Remove the battery out of the device and leave it for an hour without the battery and after that press and hold the power button for 60seconds (without the battery) after that insert the battery and try to enter flash mode "have the FLASHTOOL ready to flash a rom"
IF it doesn't work
Just as a last try you can TRY REPAIR using Sony Update Service(SUS) and if it doesn't work either you have to report the service center... they will help you and if it is still under warrenty you can get it done for free too...

have you done anything that couldve drained the battery fully ? if so the solution is to continuously charge it ... it might take upto 16 hours or more happened to mine now fixed

Hello guys. This is my problem with Xperia P.I tried to update CWM from 6.0.1.2 to 6.0.3.0 in hope that I will get rid of that status error 7 when trying to install CM 11.Ok so what I did:i downloaded an update for CWM in zip format,i transferred the zip files to my xperia p internal storage then disconnected the phone from pc,then I booted the phone In CWM and from there I tried to update CWM by selectin install from zip sd card the zip archive. It said It was succesfull then asked for reboot and that was. After that the phone gone dead,no response from it even when I tried to power it on or to reset it by key combinations nothing worked.Even when I plugged it on charger nothing or in my pc usb.So when this happened my phone was rooted/unlocked bootloader and running latest JB build 6.1.2.A.100.So what I tried so far:i plugged it in wall charger for 6+ hours in hope I will get a life sign from it and nothing. Then I tried to disconnect its battery,i know its non removable but it has a cord attached that can be detached and I did it for about 5 mins. After that I reconnect the battery and plugged it in.Well I got a solid red led on it and I thought oh well it seems it worked but after exactly 15mins the red led goes out and nothing happens after it.At the moment I am writing this the phone already is dead by 24 hrs+.And yea I tried to connect it in flash mode for flashtool but not a sign at all.My pc doesn't detects it.So is there any hope left for my phone? If so please give more solutions.Oh and another thing it seems that after the red light goes off after 15 mins and I unplug it from charger and reconnect it the red led comes again and the process can be repeated. So should I try this way to charge it until it has enough power to do some responses?

I am running Windows 7 and the bootloader is unlocked. Also I cant use flashtool or any software from pc because the phone it doesn't get detected. But if I plugged it on pc USB it does give a red light for exactly 14 mins then the red led goes off. Also any key pressing or key combinations doesn't help as I don't get any response from phone. So I am really sure its hard brick.Only sign from it is the red led that goes off after 14 mins.
So anymore ideas?Does my phone was hard resetted after I detached the battery for 5 mins and then reattached it?Because before this I didn't got the red led.And also should I try to recharge my phone by pluggin in it in charger wait 14 mins till red led gets off then repeat this process?

And how I am supposed to turn phone off when I get no sign from it when I am pressing volume or power keys. The only sign I get is the red led that after 14 mins goes off.Yea I flashed/updated a wrong CWM for my phone. And how that could screw my phone that bad I don't have any idea.
Just remove the battery chord from the battery (not the charger chord). This means, your phone is in turn off mode. Then reconnect it. Then try those flashmode combinations.
And for any further status 7 issues refer to my guide. Link is in my signature

Bro, then this may be a hard brick. Try some hardbrick procedures. Or take your device to some local shops. They have a flashing device, which flashes stock firmware. Service centres will cost u very much.

Bro, then this may be a hard brick. Try some hardbrick procedures. Or take your device to some local shops. They have a flashing device, which flashes stock firmware. Service centres will cost u very much.

its not hard brick ... in hard brick you don't even get to see the red led ..... this is a basic soft brick because he flashed incompatible kernel which failed bootloader test and hence he is getting this red led .... hard brick = phone becomes paperweight with no led or anything working ....... even charging which does in his case ....... he is just unable to turn on flashmode , (typical case with new users), even i also flashed wrong kernel on my xgo (u cannot even remove battery in that) , i just waited for red led to shut down then holding volume down and then plugging in usb i was able to get flashmode

first remove battery cable for 3-5 mins then reconnect it ...... don't touch the power button ... hold the volume button down.. while holding it down insert usb cable .... (give it 2-6 seconds and DONT LEAVE THE VOLUME DOWN BUTTON )the led should now turn on and glow green (flashmode enabled , u shud know the rest i think) don't check if pc detecting or not just check LED green or not first

I don't have anymore warranty left.So I think they will charge me for this.Maybe if I will let the phone more time in charger or with the bat cord detached/unplugged from charger/pc and after that trying again?

if you can try using those "butterfly chargers" , the ones which directly charge battery..... then try this approach cuz flashmode needs 30% battery minimum to run , 75% is recommended

If you are on stock then try factory resetting your phone through stock recovery.
If the above process didn't work, try to flash stock ftf through flashtool.
And if you are rooted, try clean flashing ROM through custom recovery.

connect the phone to charger for few hours and let it be so that it charges for sometime. then after that press the power button and volume up button for few seconds till it vibrates a few times and connect to flashtool when it asks to connect and flash. if this works let us know. definitely your phone is not bricked if sony logo is coming. dont worry.

when the phone is in the charger all it does is bring up the sony logo which can't be turned off , and there is no orange led light indicating charging , the phone heated after 10 minutes in the charger ....is it charging even though the led isn't turning on ? i fear if i leave it in the charger it might get overheated for nothing

Try the same procedure on win7
(Flashtool may not work on win8 and above)
If you are already on win7 try uninstalling BlueStacks, Youwave, VirtualBox etc (if you have them).
If everything above didn't work, try installing latest essential drivers and latest flashtool.
Unluckily if you still have the same problem then try downloading and flashing ftf from different servers.
Hope you do it well

i guess its charged enough even if its not showing the led light for charging. its never working on the sony logo part of bootup. try connecting it to flashtool like the way i said. and please make sure you have all the drivers installed beforehand. if you had ever run it earlier then all drivers will be present. let us know.
dont worry about windows. i'm using it on win8 without any problem. just take care of drivers.
Thanks guys....i have tried another laptop with installing all the drivers, then i put the phone in the charger for 15 mins , and flashed an ftf through flashtool and it is booting up normally as we speak !
