thanks by all means

Hey Trind,
In your post, you stated that you were following instructions on how to install this file....
Do you remember the website you were at?
I am having same problem.... Sort of...
i have a 16GB sd card that is completely useless. Because everything i download, install, or save gets put on the internal memory. Now, internal is full and sd card is all but empty...
Thanks for any info you can give me...

Recover images deleted from root drive?

Hey guys,
Gonna try explain this best I can. If I need to be corrected or any blanks filled in then please let me know
Basically, I had around 25 images that were taken a few weeks ago when my family visited from New Zealand on my SD. I thought to be safe, I'll move them to a folder on the root drive so popped onto root explorer, made the folder on root and copied the pictures over (well moved them actually).
Now, issue is I stupidly named the folder (in my wisdom god knows why I chose this) 'PICREC130910'. I do understand the name of the folder is fairly irrelevant but thought since I'm asking for a hand, best explain myself best I can.
Now, again in my wisdom, I was browsing about using root explorer and somehow managed to delete that folder (let's blame working 14 hour shifts for that wonderful mishap).
I tried a recovery using various deleted file recovery softwares on my SD using the computer, but to no avail. It finds the image names but when I recover them it only recovers a non readable file that every viewer I've tried can't see. this might be because I had just before deleting root folders, put about 6gb of music on the SD so probably overwritten the pictures.
Anyway, because the root is generally less written to than the SD I'm hoping they're still in a recoverable state so to put my question out there... is there a software that can do a similar recovery search but on the root drive? Would really appreciate any help cause I only get to see my family from nz about once every 5 years.
Thanks for reading guys,
Pete
What recovery software have you used?
One I have tried with great success is Recuva.
I used that and another one, can't remember the name just now but my issue is how do I search the root drive?
What I'm looking to do is somehow mount the root drive to allow a windows based piece of software search it or alternatively find another way to do so using a terminal to show all deleted files so I can find these pictures somewhere.
Hopefully (and I'm asuming..) the internal is a similar structure to the flash-based memory system in the SD card and therefore as long as it hasn't been overwritten, should be recoverable.
Would I be right in this assumption?
Nobody help here?
Sorry dude, but i am pretty certain there is no software available that would allow you to recover deleted files from a Mobile Phone internal memory. I can only suggest that you remove your SD card and connect that to you PC and see if you can recover any pics direct from the SD. You will have to use an SD Card reader as it will not work if you connect the phone to the pc.
I personally use Recover My Files. It always works for me.
Have a look with THIS, worth a shot.
First off can I offer my greatest thank you to all those that have replied so far. I'm avoiding installing or deleting a thing until I know what I can do with this.
Isn't mounting the phone to the computer (Ie mount SD card) the same as putting it into an SD card reader? Higher chance of it working with a reader?
As said, it can find the image names, just not the images (ie recovers a non readable file!)

[Q] Files not found when attempting to install CM10 rom

I have been trying for at least two days now to get CM10 on my nook tablet, I have been going through many guides to do it but most are very specific and I don't really know where to go or what to do (I am a total noob at this). Yesterday I found an extraordinary tutorial that explained step by step everything I had to do, I followed it and again I couldn't get past attempting to install the roms because it cannot find the files. I had reached this same stage by following different tutorials but in the end I couldn't find the zips. I even tried with another SD card and the same happens. I have thought of putting the rom zips in the internal memory and running them from there but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.
(Is it any good to tell you I wiped a N2A card 8GB with 2.2 in it to use as my sd card for CM10? I believe it was running CM7 but a week ago I couldn't get it to work so I decided to try CM10 myself thinking it couldn't be that hard)
I really hope someone here knows what can I do because to me my nook tablet is pretty much useless without Android.
Since you're a newbie I suggest using the SDC image. You can download it from here: http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/cm10-0-jellybean-sdcard-img-for-nook-tablet/
Note this does not flash to internal so it doesn't change anything on your book itself.
All you need to do is write the image file to an SD card and you're good to go. No need to flash it from recovery. You can also repartition the SD card for more space in the data partition, allowing more apps.
If you get stuck or need something explained just reply or send me an email.
Only the zip files are missing? Or all folders are missing?

Just place them in a location where cwm recovery is reading. Doesn't matter if its SD or internal.

[Q] messed up internal storage after upgrading to android 4.3

Hey all,
I recently fresh installed android 4.3 and i love it.
just some small issues like gallery being terribly slow.
fixed that by installing quickpic.
further than that no lags!
One slightly bigger issue. ...
my internal sd was renamed i guess... file like pictures where not showing in gallery and such.
i went looking for them with es file explorer and found them on device memory.
so you would say problem fixed....
only when i go into recovery and try to install from internal sd, the newly renamed internal memory is not showing but yhe old one...
is there a fix for this?
Maybe the gallery is so slow because of the mixedup memory???
Hope i make some sense.
If there isnt a fix i will have to try to do a new install but format internal sd first.
hope someone knowes a way to fix this a easier way
thanx in advance.
Not sure what you are saying but suggest you read the stickied faqs and guides first,
Storage post for one .
Fixed! For everyone who has the same problem:
Just move everything from "old'' sd card to the new 0sdcard exept 0, legacy and obb.
Cant find the link anymore where i have read this... will post and give credit to the person who wrote it when i do.

[Q] SD card is full (but, its not)

Hi,
another forum recommended I register and ask my question here. I am not a techie. I don't know what I'm doing. This is probably a basic question, but with all the googling I've done, I can't find the answer!
Here goes, and please be easy on me:laugh:
My GS3 was running really slow, running down the battery, just in general not running as well as I remembered from a year before buying it. I decided to back it up, reset it and start from scratch. The phone has run AWESOME! One problem though; when it updated, it installed 4.3. Ever since, I can't do anything with my SD card. I get an error that the SD card is full, and if I look in the settings, it shows zero space on the SD card. If I plug it into my mac, it shows like 12gb of space.
I used to use Android File Transfer and that doesn't work anymore. I recently tried Airdroid, which works great for the internal storage, but tells me that my SD card is full.
Help!
PS I tried to post a link to a screenshot of what storage on my phone looks like, but since I'm a noob, I'm not allowed
When you upgrade to android 4.3 it will change your storage partition from sdcard0 to emulated/0 ... simply it will change its partition so all your old files will not be visible there but they are still in your memory... I suggest you find your old files and move them to new directory... There are many threads on how to find your old files.. Search

Accidentally pressed format sd card in recovery, but quickly removed. Is my data lost?

Hi,
I was browsing through recovery looking for the option to copy files into the sd card while in recovery, just so i didn't have to remove. Well, for some stupid mistake ( i still can't figure out why i even confirmed the option), i pressed the format sd card and when i realized it a second later i removed the card right away.
I don't think it really had time to delete anything or much, but when i inserted the card in my computer it said that the card should be formatted to be used and the same thing appeared on the phone, so im guessing some crucial file that allows me to use the card was deleted.
So, did i just lose all my data? Is there a way to recover the card files?
Thanks in advance!

Removing it while erasing might have had corrupted the data, too. Unless there's some magic software which can check for deleted files on these types of SD cards.
you can recover your deleted data by downloading "diskdigger" from google play in my opinion it's the best app for this issue.. another app is "undeleted for root users"... you can recover photos, videos, and some texts.....
If this reply helped you don't miss to press thanks Buttom to know ?

Keep in mind these might not work as the phone cannot access the card or file system of it, this is why it appears as an unformated card and the phone or computer cannot do anything with it besides reformatting

Try active file recovery software
Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300
Rom: Archidroid v2.4.6
Philz recovery
Boeffla kernel 2.3b6
Viper4android powered sound
Hi
Thank you all for the replies.
I ended up using a recovery software to retrieve the files, since they were all still there because i stopped the formating process right away.
So, recovered the files, formated the card and put the files back.
I was hoping i could just restore the filesystem and those files, but that was the only solution i got at the time.
Thank you all for the help and suggestion!
Recovery of accidentally formatted SD card is possible in couple of minutes. By means of Remo Recover tool, you can get back files lost from SD, CF, MMC and XD cards.
