Since AT&T's model has the thicker NCF 1650mah battery by default I'm thinking that the Korean NFC 2000mah package may fit since that is probably what the AT&T GSII build may likely be based on since the AT&T version has NFC and is a mm or so different in size vs the international version, similar to the Korean SGSII version and how the international version can't handle the Korean kit (the 2000mah NFC battery fits, the back doesn't).
What would be interesting to know is if the international battery kit back fits the Korean GSII's since we know the Korean battery kit back does not fit the international GSII, and from what I've seen on the internet the AT&T version can not use the international kit (probably due to the back but the battery may still fit).
If anything I hope its just the back of the AT&T GSII that is incompatible with the international GSII cause if the battery and the back is different in size then I'll be really pissed cause that would mean that AT&T has a totally different size from all the rest of the GSII's which could make buying accessories really slim picking, one of the main reasons why I held out over the AT&T variant over the Sprint version was the similarities with the international version which means more accessories to choose from. So HOPEFULLY the Korean kit works.
Another option is to look at the batteries for the Indian version of the GSII since it supposedly has NFC as well but I have not seen anything on it. And of course we could just wait for AT&T and Samsung bring out the 2000mah battery kit for the AT&T GSII but I'd be surprised if they have any plans on doing that anytime soon if at all since Samsung will be busy with the Nexus and AT&T will be busy with their upcoming QHD and HD phones.
It's just a hunch but I went and ordered the Korean NFC 2000mah battery kit from exportprive for $35 USD (plus $20 USD "express" shipping) over the weekend along with a couple of those charger stands ($13 USD each) and I guess they will ship it soon so I'll be the guinea pig for testing the Korean battery kit and the AT&T GSII, wish me luck !
That is a lot of typing for a battery ha ha..jk
Look forward to seeing if this works if so I'll follow suit.
From reading the general SGSII 2000 mAh thread, I believe as long as it's "NFC" it will fit our phone.
After all that hassle, it will suck if the 2000mAh batteries have less capacity than the 1650mAh batteries due to Samsung's standards over cheap battery mfrs...

Reports so far from people using the 2000mah batteries on the international GSII are calling it a 20%+ gain in battery life along with better cooling due to different back and overall good looks without much of an addition in thickness with the phone being around the thickness of the Captivate after the battery and back are installed. If it works I think it will be a great addition to an already great phone.
Ah, just got a response from exportprive that explains the situation:
Hi,
The EB-K1A2EBSG is the Korean version of the EB-K1A2EBEGSTD, and was supposed to be compatible with all Galaxy S 2 versions. However, it turns out that only the back plate is incompatible, and only fits the Korean Galaxy S 2. In fact, the 3 top left grooves (with the outside of the back plate facing you) are aligned differently by just a few millimeters, which bends the case when trying to insert it in your device. We apologize for any inconvenience, and offer you the following alternatives to solve this problem:
1. A refund for this item (or a credit of the same amount).
2. A partial refund of $6 USD per item if you wish to keep it as an extended battery (which is an NFC version).
We are open to any other suggestions. Please let us know what you wish to do.

I wonder how much trouble it would be to get an extended back for the AT&T version to fit this back? Seeing how the 2000mah NFC batteries aren't as easy to come by as the even more hard to come by regular international 2000mah batteries.
I would hate for someone to be a guinea pig but I'm going to wait till someone tries it on the US version.
I await to see how this plays out. I would love to have the larger battery

I cancelled my order, the battery does fit but then the replacement back to go with the battery doesn't. Hopefully Samsung will put this kit out for the AT&T version .

I wonder if there's a non-Samsung door that will work.
I got this battery with a dock charger and it works fine but when I plug it in to anything (computer/usb or power/usb) it freezes the phone and makes it cycle the battery charging/phone off symbol while the battery(?) makes a very quiet clicky sound. Not good. So I started charging it on the dock (came with a spare battery charging slot) and carrying it as an extra. It works fine, just don't charge your precious AT&T Galaxy S2 with it.
I did the shot at this angle so you could see the contacts, I saw some mention of it. My bad on the upside-down hah.
All questions concerning an AT&T version seem to be ignored in the international version thread...has anyone found one that fits our version??
The 2000 mAh battery for the international Galaxy S 2 should work on the AT&T version since the back appears identical.
the backs appear identical, however the international version is not NFC capable and therefore that battery will not be the same. but i agree that the I9100 thread seems to ignore any comments about the I777. wth.
I just bought the 2000 mah batter from Ebay and it has the NFC label on it. Of course, I have the international version and it doesn't fit. For those that have the US version, PM me if you'd like to buy it. I'm in the SF Bay Area, CA.

I just posted about the extended battery I recieved yesterday. It is a 2600MAH battery from a company called TruCell. I took a risk because they were the only company I found on the web selling a battery specifically for the AT&T model. Funny on Ebay it said for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 but whe I look at the battery it says for the I9100. In any case the battery and the case fits perfectly. Phone is heavy as all get out but If It gives me an extra 4 to 5 hours of heavy use then I am perfectly fine with it.
what did that monster cost you???

Hello everyone, do you think the Chinese batteries that are 2450mah online from reliable?
someone has got to try them?
I've had a negative experience with a non-Samsung battery - nowhere near rated capacity, overheating. If it were me, I wouldn't use anything other than genuine Samsung batteries (& haven't other than that one occasion & I returned the battery/got a refund), tho YMMV obviously.

Not reliable, most of the time is a piece of garbage, in one of my experience if the battery goes down completely, it won't recharge if you didn't plug it in within a short time (I am speaking minutes).

I have the Samsung 2000 mah, worth every dollar. Brilliant extension of battery life, had it nearly a year and still going strong. Dont bother if your phone is riddled with wakelocks etc, you're better off getting rid of those vs. buying a bigger battery.
But you guys, but do you think the batteries samsung where they are produced? read read ..
What does where they're manufactured have to do with anything - you do realise why they're produced in those places ? (Relatively cheap labour/closer to supply chain).
It's the quality of the manufacture, materials & quality control you're paying for when you buy a genuine battery. And non-genuine batteries are often hit & miss for those reasons.

If you're basing that on personal experience with non - Samsung batteries, I'd be inclined to think you got lucky. More often than not a non genuine battery will be significantly less than claimed capacity, vs Samsung ones which are very close to claimed capacities. I don't bother unless it's genuine now.

To suggest all/many/most non-genuine batteries are of the same quality/reliability/at or close to rated capacity compared to genuine batteries is a blanket statement which isn't grounded in fact. Read threads on here/elsewhere & the real world experience is this:-
*99% of people who buy genuine batteries find them to perform exactly as they'd expect (be reliable/durable, able to hold a charge, not overheat, at or near rated capacity), the other 1% (should) get refunds or exchanges.
*Anything up to 30-40% of people who buy non-genuine batteries seem to have issues with them at some point, whether it's right off the bat (as soon as they start using them) or within a reasonable period of time after buying them.
The rub is, if you buy a genuine battery, you know exactly what you're getting almost all of the time, and you can easily get a refund or replacement if you don't get that. If you buy a no-name from little E big B/elsewhere, you may not be able to do that easily. Yes, the battery might perform as you'd expect a genuine battery to (tho very very few end up at the rated capacity on the outside of the battery, I.E rated 3500mAH, you're lucky if you get 2800), but there's a not unsubstantial chance it won't. Which means you have to go thru hassles to get it replace/refunded, and you don't have a spare battery or whatever in the meantime.
So that makes the question, do you want to take that risk ? Me (and lots of other people - you did ask for opinions after all), I'd rather pay the extra $15-$20 & buy a genuine battery (or two or more), or even the extended power pack if you really need a lot of juice & can't get near a power source to recharge (If that was something you did a lot, a 3rd party power 'brick' from a reputable company is worth exploring, as would a solar charger if you spend time outdoors/away from mains power).
Yes, but do you think the price is correct as the original battery 2000mah for samsung 40 €? when that is 1650mah from the 13 euro?
then it is no exaggeration to have longer life?
I wouldn't pay €40 for a 2000mAh genuine battery, no. I can get them for $30-$35 in Australia which is €25-30. If you shop around online, you may be able to get one near that price if you find somewhere who does cheap or free shipping.
With regard to the longer life, as you'd expect (and this is my RW experience), the 2000mAh battery gives you around 20% more juice/usage.
Edit - If you can get 1650mAh genuine batteries for 13 Euro, why not load up on those ? You could get two & have 65% more juice than the 2000mAh battery and still save €14 (Or are you talking about non-genuine 1650mAh batteries for €13 ?)

I bought a 7000mAh battery pack from Office Depot (the brand is "IO Gear" but I'm sure there are several such products). It cost about $50. The device itself charges via a mini USB and can charge two devices at once via two USB ports that flank the mini USB.
This may or may not be what you need, but I would suggest checking it out. Not only is the battery capacity very large, but you won't have to buy new batteries every time you get a new device. Plus, it's helpful for charging devices that don't have removable batteries, like the current Nexus line-up.

Aftermarket batteries are a hit and miss thing. Some have great experiences and some just don't. I have been using a gold 4200 mah aftermarket battery in my GN 2 for the past year without a problem. It lasts about 15hrs on an average day. Appreciably longer than the oem batteries which serve as my backup. I've used aftermarket batteries in my last 5 galaxy phone without any problem All came from China. Another issue with aftermarket batteries from Chinese MFG's is under-powering. Batteries need to consistently produce more than the required power to run a device, if a battery fluctuates below this threshold throughout the discharge process it can drastically deteriorate and stress many IO components. Memory, the CPU even simple logic IC's. You may not notice it at first but over time it can kill your device. Very important, and often overlooked for a $30 product on Amazon with no clear MFG docs.

YUP YUP, my buddies and I use ankers, I've been using them in my GSII for quite a while, I would "say" they work better than the OEM batteries. At least 2 AZ summers.
I've all ready had two OEM batteries swell up, my anker is still going strong. I got two anker batteries and a universal charger for $20 for my S2. I don't charge my phone on a cord anymore, I just swap in a new battery every morning and put the semi dead one in the charger.
Unfortunately one anker stopped working because I dropped it in the street one drunken night and apparently some bum walking by, picked it up, thought it might have pure gold contacts and apparently scraped it off.

I do highly recommend. Never more than $15, I'd suggest give 25% more life, and having used them for maybe over a year each on two different phones, I don't notice the life dropping.
A few weeks ago I swapped to my original battery, forgot I had done so, and suddenly wondered why my phone was draining fast.
I've got no connection to the company, and in my early Note 1 days I'd buy dozens (well, loads), of unofficial batteries and these were my fave. As others say, I hear good things about Anker too. But find an MPJ on eBay and you'll be happy.

Yes we are looking for a battery with more mAh and that you do not need to change the look of the phone. IDo not like the phone thicker. Manufacturers are frivolous batteries up to 3200 mAh and the label put 3500.4200 mAh. So I saw the people at KING. I opened the outer handout was printed inside the battery and 3200mAh and I gave a lot of money. I could die a fool I am. The only original batteries are slim, so. Too bad those are not the ZeroLemon and slim extended battery for Note 3 as make 3000 mAh Galaxy S4 and are very good.

We have options:
1-Use an external battery case
2-Have an extra battery so when the first battery gets low, you just swap to the new one. The problem is that the phone shuts down (except if you have external power source plugged)
3-Using a battery charger, basically a battery with a cable you plug to your phone and charge.
I'd go 2 or 3, but 2 can be bad if you dont have a external battery charger that you plug on the wall , and 3, it takes lots of time to charge the note 3 specially if you are not using USB 3 or a capable device with high charging capacity

Many of the threads discussing battery replacements in this section are dispersed and old.
However,
I'm asking for help with updated opinions/recommendations/insights please.
I have a Note 3 (5.0) N9005 - original Samsung battery, and it needs replacement.
Problem: As I have a spigen neo hybrid case, I want a battery that fits into the original note 3 cover.
I am looking for safe bets - companies whose batteries are not risky nor untested by members.
Obviously there is the option of another stock Samsung original - but are there established/safe alternatives that will give me better 'juice' than stock, but still fit in the original cover?
My thanks to any that are willing to share their advice/opinions & contribute.
Capt. M
I just recently bought a anker for my note 3 they are trusted and a very respected company. Look for a anker on amazon for your note 3. Yes it will fit same exact size. I use to have neo hybrid. They give you a warranty as well.

Why did you choose the anker over stock?
On the anker website - there also have customer reviews of each product. Some of the note 3 battery reviews are quite poor?
I chose anker because my brother bought one for his note 4 I already knew of anker and needed a battery, he said it was great. Reviews are hit and miss take them with a grain of salt, I've bought a power add Apollo charger and love it works flawless yet on amazon where I bought it many reviews are negative. Also companies can and do hire people for good and bad reviews. The original battery is hard to find unless you directly contact Samsung they can be rather annoying with customer service with my run ins I've had with them over chargers. Most if not all Samsung OEM for note 3 on amazon are knock offs there fake. If I'm unhappy with the battery I can still return it, they gave me and everyone a warranty, they have good packaging and they only use grade A cells, from what I've experienced and my brother I believe they are great. I hope this helps if you need more info message me anytime.
Hi,
take one of these, they are great, greater then the ones from samsung!

Anker for me long time user.
I'm interested in finding a solution that genuinely gives me an advantage over a samsung oem battery.
Is it true that no oem batteries were produced after 2014?
The manufacture date is printed on the battery. One of the things pushingme away from oem is that they will be 2-3 years old, and kept in storage for a long time.

Why did you choose the anker over others?
Has it given you any issues?

I chose anker because my brother bought one for his note 4 I already knew of anker and needed a battery, he said it was great. Reviews are hit and miss take them with a grain of salt, I've bought a power add Apollo charger and love it works flawless yet on amazon where I bought it many reviews are negative. Also companies can and do hire people for good and bad reviews. Thank you for the info, I always thought that any non-samsung battery may run the risk of setting fire to your phone. I'll have to give that one a try

Do these fit in the original case? Any overheating issues?

Now, I see that you want a battery that fits the original cover, but many folks here can recommend the ZeroLemon 10 000 mAh battery. I'm using one.
Advantages:
+ comes with a dual layer TPU case with hard plastic shell;
+ you can get 2 to 3 days of extremely heavy usage, 5, if you are moderate, and a whole week with light usage (once did 6 days with 38% battery left, got tired of trying to drain it all the way and charged it, screenshots attached).
Disadvantages:
- the thing becomes really ugly, thick and heavy, you better have big pockets and strong belts. Yes, that's the only disadvantage. Well, if you change SD or SIM cards frequently, that would be a disadvantage too.
After the first calibration charges and discharges of the battery, it takes some 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100%, but 6 hours of charging for 3 days of extreme usage - that's more than a fair deal for me.
I'm in two minds. Oem vs third party.
Problem with oems are, it seems that the last production run was 2014???
Is it really the case that I'd have to purchase a two year old battery that has been in storage for that time?
First of all I checked my original battery and there is no manufacturing date that I can see, the closest I can come to date is serial number, but no idea how to decode it. Did they put manufacturing date later on?
2. if you want/need original size don't expect big capacity improvements: same size will have similar capacity give or take tolerances and chemistry need to be similar due to charging/ voltage.
3. Especially in the phone which is charged almost daily, number of cycles is more important than age. I have Li ion batteries probably almost 10 yrs old that still work, more or less.
4. There was suspicion that some OEM batt sold around were used and therefore already partially worn out.
5. If you use NFC, make sure the new battery has NFC antenna, some don't and NFC won't work there.
I bought battery called Stalion for about $10, it has NFC antenna, it holds charge as well as new OEM and if it wears out faster than OEM ( so far all's good, 6 months and counting) I'll buy new one for $10, not worth worrying about.
But if Note 6 will be as good as the rumors suggest this is all non issue in 3 months anyway.

Can you give me some more info on no. 4. his is new to me.
When I was looking for OEM batteries on Amazon (some stuff is sold by Amazon partners, not Amazon directly BTW ) some people left comments that batt. they got lasted less than old one they just replaced, some commented that they see scratches, like they were used, some said they didn't get original packaging, another commented that advertising never said those were brand new etc. etc. while others had no problem . Actually if what you said is true about OEM ending production in 2014, all those negative comments begin to make sense. At the end all those negative comments turned me off, to the point I bought off brand (Stalion) and I'm pretty happy with it.
for example here http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-Standard-Battery/dp/B00F3583S8 22% gave 1 star, that's one in five.
I like Anker but little luck with this phone for some reason . One works and other doesn't. The Anker do have NFC. Problem with OEM is that most are fake. Have several of those and 2/3 didn't last a month.
