Dell Venue only has 80MB total internal storage - Dell Venue

For some unknown reason, my Dell Venue only has 80MB of total internal storage being reported under Settings --> About phone.
It was like this while I was using the stock v325 ROM, and continued like this even after I factory reset everything, deleted every cache, and flashed CyanogenMod 7.2 over it.
I suspect that either the phone has been badly-partitioned, or that someone sold us a bad phone (I received it years ago).
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I'm currently barely getting by using Link2SD.
Here's the current status of the phone:
Internal Storage: 9.38MB / 80.00 MB available
Mem: 318MB total
(The external SD Card is showing 1.48GB / 1.84GB available, so that's not a problem)
Dell Venue
Baseband: GTOUB1A132500-AWS (v325)
Build: BWK74
Current ROM: CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC1

Bro its not ur internal memory its ur available RAM.....

No, I'm pretty sure it's my internal storage. Closing apps does not increase it. Besides, it would be showing 318MB total memory instead of 80MB.

HELP Slimbeanxslimgapps FIXED EDITED!

Hi all,
I HAD SEVERAL BACKUPS SAVED LOL 5GB ALMOST!
I'm running slimbean 2.4 and slimgapps now I reflashed since making first post.
My internal storage is not right. Says I have 10gb used 4 and less than 2 remaining.
Is is possible to mount USB storage? Could I of somehow messed the file allocation up? My first few flashes I had an external card now I've re installed without and memory is GOOFY.
I would post a pic but xda is acting up.
If this makes any sense plz help I would ideally like to WIPE and re install my current setup as its FAST just limited cause I have 0 space.

[Q] Lost disk space...

Hi all,
I made a mistake and checked the option RE-PARTITION during an firmware upgrade...
Now I've got 11.34Go of total space instead of ~15Go.....:crying:
How can I get the the normal size ?
Thanks in advance for your help
Johann
Post in right section next time?
Anyway I've not got my device yet but I guess you need to reflash .PIT?
now that you made me think about it, I have the same issue! 11.35Gb total internal space!
I've never noticed beacause the same day I bought my S3 H3G I've flashed the ITV rom..
So I think I checked that stupid flag too... but I am pretty sure to have double-checked everything before flash, I'm absolutely not new to Flash and Odin...
Anyone has got a solution?
Maybe a new partition table file (PIT) to flash along with a new rom, could do the magic?
Mines always been 11.35gb. I think that the phone uses some of the sd card space for system files.
Please don't flame me if I'm wrong, just that I've never seen 15~gb free space.

WHAT ? Do you guys realize that 16 GB version have 11.25 GB usable ? Do you never had a pendrive or a sdcard ? But I can say that you are lucky you don't bricked your phone having re-partition enabled.
my sd size has always been 11.25gb. never "accidentally" ticked re-partition so must be normal. could other users confirm? btw where can we get the correct .pit from as iv seen a few versions.
You have not lost anything. The internal sd is used by system also with many partitions. So no worries. Just do not tick repartition ahaon unless it is specified by the firmware you are glashing todo so.

haha, very funny big-brain guy, but my 16GB SD card has 14.91GB formatted, so 11GB avaiable on the 16GB internal memory it's an evidence that something goes wrong, or the memory has other not-so-small partitions, or the memory itself is damaged.
Just wanted to ask, you know, this is a forum
Well, Android itself is like 1.2 GB, and 1 or 2 gb are for apps. ROM.
My S3 is 32 gig, 25 usable.

And I just wanted to answer, big-brain guy. There is memory reserved space + android system which I havent included in the first comment. As I said, you were lucky you didn't bricked the phone re-partitioning the memory. Take care next time

L9 P769 No Space for Any Applications

Hey everyone,
Very recently, my rooted P769 on Jellybean (20f) isn't letting me install any applications because there is no free space. But that isn't true - I have 560 MB free on my internal SD! At first I was down to about 150 MB free, but I couldn't install any applications then, so I deleted some applications and cleared some data so now I have about 560 MB free, but I still can't install one small 5 MB application! I haven't done any app2sd (I only have 2 GB free on my external SD so there would be no point anyways). I also have CWM recovery 6 by artas but I haven't installed anything with it recently. Any help? Maybe there is a way to modify build.prop to allocate more space for application data?
Any help would be really appreciated, because I can't install any application on my phone right now.

Try checking your clockworkmod/backup folder on your internal sd card. if you have one or two in there it will make a difference. Transfer those files to your SD card. Sounds like you need a new sd card as well. Get a 16gb one from Wal-Mart for like $15! Once you get your new SD Card then follow this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44683922#post44683922
Good Luck!

I don't think you understand my problem. I have 560 MB of free space on my internal SD, but I can't install any applications because every time I try I get an error that I don't have enough space, regardless of the size of the application. I should be able to install a 5 MB application if I have more than 5 MB of free space. I have a 32 GB class 10 external SD card (and I have a couple CWM backups on it) but it's almost full so doing Link2SD isn't realistic, not to mention the many problems that Link2SD has been known to cause. If somebody has had this problem before, where they definitely have enough free space to install applications but their phone tells them they do not, I'd appreciate some assistance.

I had this problem once, I've read that that the system could not remove an app or something, sorry but the only way I fixed was by restoring a cwm backup. I spent a good while trying to solve it, but nothing I found worked.

I had this problem with a different phone once, when I believe I tried to install and uninstall the same app for a lot of times, it finally refused to do so. End up flash the whole ROM.
You could try uninstalling the last few apps you installed or fix permissions before you dump the rom

I hope that your 5mb application is not TitanBackup and you are not having LuckyAbcxyz in your phone! If you do, that's the source of your problem, and you can see if all the time and troubles you got worth the pirated stuffs...
If u are using remount SD to switch ur ext sd with ur internal SD then u need to make a folder called external_SD in ur sdcard0 folder after u use remountsd to switch storage.. if not, then I say u need to use remountsd and use jb settings to change ur storage.. if u want I can link u to the instructions post of remount SD
Sent from my LG-P769 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Download remountsd and OPEN it.. (must have root) click on the wrench settings icon and input these mounts to their respected places
JB Settings:
Interne SD - /storage/Sdcard0
External SD - /storage/Sdcard0/external_sd
Target external SD card - /storage/sdcard0
Reboot ur phone and when finished media scanning go to ur storage and see the changes. I've experienced if problem before and I had to not only hard reset the phone I also had to flash a cwm backup stock of my current Rom
IF remountsd doesn't work right away u need a fresh install of Rom THEN try remountsd. Remountsd is a Definite for switching storages

[Q] Memory Issue plz help.. Canvas HD [Rooted]

alright guys i brief it out...
1. i wanted to run NFS MW game in my phone, but it requires 2055 MB data to be stored and accessed via phone internal memory
2. so i root my phone to swap memory, so that my 8GB memory card can act as internal memory to serve the purpose..
3. swapping memories went successful but still game gave me same error that 2055MB needs to be downloaded but 0MB storage is available in your phone, clean some memory and try again.
4. then i created a 3.5GB partition out my 8gb card hoping it may work (also used an app Link2SD) but the problem still persist.

Bro, it seems you are running jellybean 4.1.2 on your phone. That's why it still uses your internal memory as your default memory. Rather than doimd all the tedious work of swapping memory and partitioning, it would be much better if you just upgrade your phone to stock Jellybean 4.2.1 which is the official version released by micromax. The tutorials are extensively present both in xda and YouTube. By doing so, Jellybean 4.2 by default takes your ext.SD card as your your default memory( there's an option under Settings > Storage to click on your preferred default memory. Just click ext.SD card and your job will be done! You can download any heavy games like NFS MW or FIFA or anything. You won't have any memory issues again!
Hope this helped you. Don't forget to hit the thanks button

Hi!
The S2 has on stock internal storage 1,97 GB and a sd0 Card of about 11 GB. This is a build-in storage and not a physical Card like the removable sd1 Card which has a Slot.
I do not know what you exactly did but i think you are still on stock Partition. If the Phone does not work i think you should flash original Firmware with stock Partition.
