App dissappeared, cant uninstall, cant reinstall - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I was using swiftkey keyboard ever since. But yesterday it suddenly dissappeared from my phone. When i try to reinstall it, it tells me that it will replace other version and then installation fails with app not installed.
When i go to settings, apps to uninstall it... well its not in app list.
So app is here but its not here at the same time lol.
Is there a way to fix this? Any kind of manual uninstall?

if the wiping method does not work try to fix permissions in recovery mode
if this does not work get the apk and push into your data/app or if its a system app push into system/app and change the permisiions to rw-r-r
afterwards make a reebot and look whats happening

New Android Market 3.1.6

http://db.tt/D3arOpGU
This is the new android market. This has a footprint of about half the size as v3.1.5 and it is apparently a lot smoother.
Just flash that zip in recovery and your golden.

Using it, no difference really ..
How do I get in on this huddle? I already asked but that one may have just been a hoax.
The huddle is just a myth. I tried too, just a hoax.

This market is questionable and picky. Worked for me but not for others. Because the sig is funky you had to replace the old market. Thats why the zip. Reflash the gapps package.

Wipe cache and dalvik, Reflash the gapps package then fix permissions. It fixes the issue. The reason why it is FC is because of the permissions being messed up

I tried that and its still a no go.

Ok, after you do all that use root explorer if you have it or file expert if you don't and manually check the permissions of the thing. As a last resort. Which will fix it because it'll clear everything.. Lol, is do a FULL DATA RESET, including wiping /system its under the wipe menu in twrp

Please note that by doing that you will be formating your system partition. Meanie EVERYTHING will be gone. Make sure you have a backup that will work with twrp and also that you have all the things needed to get going, rom, gapps, kernel, etc

It works for me with out an issue...I mounted system, mounted data, then installed market.then unmounted data, unmounted system, wiped dalvik, then fix permissions...

"Android is upgrading" on every reboot?!

I m using an X.Mini on Mesa Kernel 1.4 and stock rooted ICS.
I uninstalled Sony s crap,I restored my apps with Titanium Root,
rebooted, wiped dalvik cache but now I m getting the message that Android is upgrading and starting applications on every boot.
Plus it takes more than usual to complete each restart.
So,what should I do?
Maybe wipe cache partition?
There must be a solution!

Just fixed that by
Code:
adb remount
adb shell rm /system/framework/com.google.widevine.software.drm.jar
Don't know why, it just works.

wow... dont know buddy!!!
if yhu delete TB odex, it wont work but try it & lets know....!
The odex delete didn't work.
The Titanium uninstallation/installation was what did the trick, though!
Hope I helped someone else too!
BTW,reboot took 65 sec in total.

dont understand yhu buddy....
Me too, I don't quite understand what happened. It looks like your dalvik cache gets wiped every time you restart. However I don't think Titanium Backup has that behavior. Maybe you created a bug when you deleted some system apps? It's difficult to remove system apps since the install is odexed by default AFAIK.

If you use Systemapp Remover (paid app) it will handle that for you.
@OP and anyone else, yes, if TB is messed up it can cause the wipe of dalvik cache on every reboot. No it is not a setting, but if you messed with an app with out deleting the odex then yes it can screw up things on you cache. But thats not because you deleted the app with out odex, it would mainly be the way TB handles that leftover odex. Most likely it just leaves it there.
Best thing to do is reinstall TB, if it happens again, boot to cwm, wipe cache and dalvik, then fix permissions. After first reboot, wait for system to settle then reboot once more just to check its not doing it. Then go into TB, just run it. Don't delete any apps, then reboot again, with TB running in the background and see if it happens again.
If it does then it is a problem with either that TB version, or with your .apk. so either download it again or try a different version. Or wait for an update.
Another possibility is the way your rom is handling TB removing apps. In which case you rom is messed or again its the TB version not working correctly for your fw.
Cheer, hope I helped,
Evil.
I don't understand the technical aspect of this but in practice it did work!

Dats ICS Feature.....
for me the best way possible to solved this problem is to disable TB from auto-backup your apps....also it will be more practical to fix permisson (using Rom Manager & etc) after you have restore a backup from TB....
while i do have TB on my phone, i prefer to use SystemApp Remover (paid apps) cause it is a simple apps for remove/backup your apps....

try pushing apk directly into /system/app. set permission and reboot. this will make it a system app. then use titanium backup or whatever to make it a user app
Try wiping cache partition and dalvik cache in the recovery!
Worked for me once!

you dont have to reinstall all apps if you wipe dalvik cache. wiping cache make you reinstall all apps. dalvik cache just keeps record of installed apps. no harm if you clear/wipe it
I have wipe dalvic and partition catche both
But still same problem persist
Please tell me full procedure
How to forcefully install in system??
As you said in previous post

To forcefully install it, take the apk of the mx player app and move it to /system/app with rw-r--r-- permissions!
"Did I ever tell you the definition of Insanity"
you system partition...check you system partition how much left...some app need to push lib inside system partition..don't care many app your uninstall you still face same is issues...you can check system partition using tatinium back or link2sd go to Stories info.
