Hi, I have a curious issue.
I flashed latest build of CyanogenMod 10 and I'm now unable to connect to wi-fi. I can see wi-fi SSID, I can connect, fill password, then phone says "Connecting..." but then it displays: "Saved. Secured with WPA/WPA2" and I'm unable to really connect.
What is curious: when I restore nand backup to ROM which was working, it is not working now. Also when I proceed full wipe, if does not help. What only helps, is flashing original ROM via ODIN. Then I can connect, I can root but when I install CM10 (any build), wi-fi is not working.
Any ideas? Before I ran on CM10 about 10 days without problem. What is not recovered via Clockwork Recovery?
P.S. I cannot connect to any wi-fi, not only at home and other devices are connected, password is correct and problem persists if I switch to open network.
Thanks.

The same thing happens to me!
I don't have any idea how to fix it...
There someone who can give us some light??
PS: It happens with paranoid roms too.
AFAIK this problem can only be solved by flashing a stock ICS ROM twice...once with bootloader option checked in ODin....this prob happens if you have flashed any JB leak...the JB leaks have a updated bootloader and in CM10 the bootloader is not touched..so if you flash a ICS ROM the bootloader is reverted back to ICS one..
Hope it answers some of your queries..
As stated above, you need to flash a stock ICS ROM with Odin, root and reinstall CM10. Then everything will be fine. This is a known issue for people moving from Jellybean leaks straight to CWM flashed alternative ROMs such as CM10.
Thanks, but I never used bootloader option in ODIN. How exactly I have to do it? Check bootloader, select TAR file, flash, then select PDA, select the same TAR file and flash again? Or I'm wrong>
EDIT: there is only checkbox "Phone Bootloader Update".
It works, thank you (both) very much!

I have the exact same problem!
Hello
As many other people, i have also the bootloader-problem.
Android Sysinfo (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.electricsheep.asi) shows me the version I9300XXALEF which seems to me as a ICS Bootloader.
Which Bootloader I have to use, and where I can get it?
Greetings
Christopher
As with other people I have had the same issue. Flashed Pacman Rom 2 wks ago and lost wifi connectivity, even though wifi showed as "saved and secured"
I tried to copy and paste the system/etc/wifi folder ( of stock ICS Rom that in which wifi worked ) with ES File Explorer but couldn't paste due to read only status of the system/etc/ files- I did a search but couldn't get around this.
In the end I:
1. Flashed stock ICS Rom with Odin which showed wifi working perfectly.
2. Then flashed the bootloader ( only ) of the ICS stock Rom with Odin ( I had to do this as in a previous attempt I only flashed the ICS Rom once and in the end the wifi didn't work)
3. Flashed CM10.1 nightly from ext sd card and gapps. Got a loop at the boot sequence so went into recovery and wipe/factory reset and rebooted
4. Voila! Wifi working now after 2 wks of stuffing around.

Hello guys,
as a last resort I turn to you for help. Have been searching for the answer for the last 2 days. I am running CWM-based Recovery v.6.0.1.1 and have a rooted x10 together with an unlocked bootloader. I flashed the recovery without any problems and installed miui v4 but an older file which was very unstable (without any problems). Then I decided to install the newer version so i downloaded it, placed it on my sdcard and in the same recovery flashed rom. Unfortunately I had my usb cable plugged in all the time (during installation). Installation got stuck in the middle and nothing could be done so i removed the battery and started the phone again (this time without the usb cable). When I tried to reinstall that rom again it gave me status 7 error installation aborted, assert failed:getprop, error in sdcard and things like that. So I tried the ROM which had already worked on my phone but received exactly the same message. What is more usb storage mounting in the recovery doesnt work anymore (but it already worked!). Now the problem is that I don't have any system installed and when i try to flash the recovery again, flashtool does not recognize my phone (so does windows) and so it leads me nowhere. I think this is definitely problem with the recovery, after the failed attempt to install rom when i had to remove the battery it does not behave normally. Is there any way that I can maybe install another recovery from .zip - i do not even know whether it will install or just sends me another error. Any help would be greatly appreciated

When I want to flash .tft file and i go to flash mode it does not recognize my phone in windows even though I have installed all the necessary drivers. It starts to flash but then says flashing aborted (this did not happen before, i could flash without any problems). Another problem is that i do not have any rom installed right now so i cannot even switch debugging on and if i remember right, i left debugging off in my previous rom.
Use Sony Update Service. Download from Sony site and install on PC. Follow the instruction, and this will reflash Stock Rom and Kernel (GB 2.3.3). Then, with latest Flashtool, first Root phone again, then flash whatever you want (custom kernels, roms..). You don't need to unlock bootloader again. It remains unlocked.

Omg - I found solution to my problem - I just changed usb port and it started to flash even using flashtool. Still, many thanks since it helped me find solution
I have an HTC Amaze 4g. I had rooted my phone successfully and then tried the cyanogen 10 rom, which was my 2nd rom. It got stuck on the boot screen. So I started up my twrp. I had installed my roms using twrp. I tried everything. I tried looking at my backup, but i did backup, however it was not there... So I tried a factory reset and it failed.. I then deleted my OS not knowing what to do. So I have no OS on my amaze. I try to mount the storage to my pc and it will only work if i formatted it. I don't have an sd card. Its all on internal storage. If i try to reinstall cyanogen i don't see it anywhere.. Can someone please help?
EDIT: Guys All i did was format my drive when it asked and i just put a rom in there and ran it via twrp. Its on the boot screen right now and it should work. Problem solved /thread
if you can get to recovery try again,
if not flash a RUU
first off your using the wrong recovery... flash 4EXT recovery.. and then use the "toggle usb" to mount your phone to the pc.. you can use hasoon's AiO toolkit to flash 4ext from fastboot in the bootloader by removing your battery, then reinserting it and holding vol down and power until you see the white screen then use volume keys to select fastboot...after you flash 4ext then mount the phone to the pc via "toggle usb" and place another rom on it.. CM10 is currently in an experimental state because of the issues users have been having with it.. if you require further assistance feel free to ask..
4ext..+ smart flash... + Ics ruu
e-Sex.. All of the carpral none of the tunnel
HELP
I have fixed my problem, however when I try to connect to wifi it gives me an error, it says connecting to wifi forever, or it just goes back to off. I've search on the forums but I don't see anything. Can someone help?

Was your amaze updated to ics before you flashed whatever rom you are using? Also you need to use 4ext so the kernel can flash properly with smart flash enabled. Wifi not working is more of a kernel issue not being flashed correctly or the modules for wifi weren't flashed (which would happen if you were coming from a gingerbread rom)

Hi Everyone! just a rookie here in need of a bit of advice.
I'm a Galaxy S II I9100 owner and have my phone rooted and all setup with custom roms and been comfortable with flashing for some time now. My ROM of choice recently was Vanilla Rootbox and have to say the ROM has been fantastic with very few bugs to report. Last night i recieved the OTA update via Goo Manager for Vanilla Rootbox 3.4. I downloaded the full update over wifi and flashed with all wipes no worries. Next step was to flash the latest GAPPS and i figured there would be nothing wrong with flashing the GAPPS zip i had on my sd card that i had downloaded the last time i was notified of a GAPPS update via Goo manager as well. After flashing, wiping everything and rebooting again. My phone then booted up to a series of dialog boxes indicating that many google processes had stopped functioning. apps.google.com etc etc. A similar error has been reported in the Vanilla Rootbox thread by another user but i wasnt able to report this bug their either because my post count is too low to post in a development forum. So after seeing this error i rebooted into recovery to flash my last backup but CWM recovery came back with an error messaging stating it couldnt mount either ext or int sdcard. i did a factory reset which made no difference to the problem whatsoever. I then downloaded ODIN and the latest stock ICS Rom and flashed it via ODIN with no reported errors. My phone now boots through the optus boot animation and is stuck at the Galaxy S 2 screen with the flashing red and yellow animation over the S. If i turn off the phone with the power button, the phone turns off and immediately starts again and gets stuck at the flashing s screen. I've taken the battery sim and ext sd card out and put it all back in only for the problem to persist.
If anyone could help me there's a donation and my thanks in it!
Much appreciated
Nick
tried to re flash another stock ROM?
If so, tried factory reset the phone after the flash?
As long as you can get to DL mode, you are good to keep on flashing till you are up & running.
And then you got this
Remember to update your kies and make sure you close it all up before flashing with odin. If you are in 4.0.4 beware of the brick bug.

Kies has never been installed on this computer but i did use the usb drivers mentioned in the soft brick recovery guide you linked. I used some information from the guide to flash this stock rom but i couldnt flash or wipe the partition because im unsure where to get the .PIT file required? i cant get past the boot animation so no factory reset possible and yes i can still get into download mode!

wow wow, leave pit files alone for now, they are nasty.
What stock ROM did you flash? 4.0.4 or 4.0.3?
You can factory reset via recovery mode.
Try installing kies anyway, it can't never hurt. Just make sure all applications are closed before you re-flash.
here's jb leak, might help:

Right so i flashed I9100XWLP8 stock rom (4.0.3). Just then i flashed Siyah Kernel and attempted to use the factory reset function in recovery there, i get a message down the bottom mentioning that it can't mount my internal SD.

try flashing jb leak (ROM, modem & kernel package).
So I have a Sprint Galaxy Mega and it seems as though it may be semi-bricked. It will not boot past the GALAXY MEGA logo. It will just continuously power cycle to and from that logo. If I attempt to put it in recovery, it will say "RECOVERY BOOTING" in blue letters as usual, then power cycle right back to the GALAXY MEGA screen. It will boot into Odin mode and accept Odin files, but after attempting do do a typical "stock Odin" scenario, nothing has changed. I looked around for the Pit but cannot seem to find it. Does anyone has a reliable link to the latest Odin stock restore and the PIT file that matches it?
Maybe an error with your system data. So you can't reboot into recovery ? If you can try to wipe data and cache and reboot.
It may be an abnormal re-partition when flashing stock rock, and then I can't help you (have the i9205 international model). Some members of this section have the Sprint version, try to send them a PM if nobody can help you
Nope, no recovery. I was considering flashing a custom recovery to it to see what it does but I don't wanna kill the phone any more than it already is...
Yes I understand. But flashing custom recovery can solve your problem, only if you can boot on it. I think it can't make more damages to your phone, he just always stuck on boot phase like a brick, but if you don't want to try, wait for a developer making you a PIT file. More safe, the Galaxy Mega have a too poor development support for risk anything...
Well I went ahead and flashed TWRP to it. It will boot into TWRP just fine. Tried flashing the stock L900 ROM zip and it still won't boot.
Well I installed a custom ROM, SlimKat, and the phone boots. If I install the stock ROM located in the following link, OP's signature, the phone goes right back to bootlooping. ???
I need either the stock ROM or a ROM with dialer codes because this phone will be flashed to a regional carrier.
what recovry version you use bro. maybe recovery problem. try use your custom rom to flash another recovery from philz. the latest one. some time recovery dont work properly to downgrade from 4.4.2 to stock 4.2.2.
Great, so with Philz Touch Recovery, I never had problems for downgrade and I do this often for testing roms. Now it should not bootloop if you reflash stock.
I am using "CWM-based recovery 6.0.4.7"
I will try Philz recovery
After trying Philz recovery to flash the stock file I found, it once again bootlooped. Is there another stock ROM floating around somewhere or possibly a custom ROM that has dialer codes such as ##3282# enabled?
No idea... But actually the most complete stock based custom rom is MegaFire I think. Flash V5 (not V5x !) it should be enabled.
I don't see what is the problem while flashing stock rom... Oh ! Maybe you haven't enabled USB Debugging, I forgot to do that one time and I had some issues, in case you try to flash a firmware where Knox or others features are on with a modem without these, may cause bootloop. I've searched for 2 days before solve that little problem...
Have you tried another firmware ? If you can flash custom rom, something went wrong before flash... Odin folder is complete ?
Strange...once again a boot loop after flashing the MegaFire ROM
I'm almost certain I need the PIT file. I cannot find it anywhere.
Well I got the phone to boot from that rooted stock ROM FINALLY. I don't remember for sure but I think what I did was first flash TWRP, then flashed boot.img.tar that I found somewhere, it was listed for the Sprint Mega. I then booted into TWRP and flashed the stock rooted ROM(zip) I mentioned before. It now boots perfectly and everything works except one tiny little detail. No WiFi, no cellular signal at all. Baseband version: unknown in About phone.Already tried flashing the Sprint stock modem from the same download link as the ROM and it didn't work.
I'm having the same problem too dude, I
I download n flash all.the firmware I could find online, since I have no idea what the country of origin is. But most of them work, but no WiFi, Bluetoothand the sim card slot don't read

Hi guys.
I've been messing with my GT-i8160 for almost a year now. Faced a number of problems but overcame them.
However, the last time i tried installing stock firmware from sammobile.com, i faced a bootloop. I have no idea why a firmware flashed with Odin cause bootloop, but while wondering the bootloop stopped by itself and my device started working fine.
But soon I found out that I can't install custom ROMs via recovery mode: the option 'choose zip from external storage' opens up nothing but an empty folder. I made sure multiple times whether my sd card is working, but no possible issue in it. my stock recovery just can't find its zip.
So I decided to reflash the stock firmware properly this time using Odin, but I found out that no matter how many times and how many different firmwares I flash via Odin, it's useless. It flashes, Download mode exits, but then I'm back to square one without any sign of the new firmware.
I'm tired of trying out different methods like adb sideload and push, but none works. My phone works fine, but just not the way I want it. I want to be able to install custom ROMs and root my phone again.
Any help?
Thanks in Advance.
