Hi, I'm new to this site..
So when I could not find stock recovery I tried this so called CMW recovery touch version, and as soon as I installed it my device doesn't boot anymore. it stuck at iBall logo and stuck there forever! I tried to connect it to Computer via USB. apparently, WinXP cant not find the device or any USB device for that matter. But somehow when I hold. and press Back key and Power button, the device LED is on(means somehow alive) with a blank screen and WinXP find ?USB Device!(?)
How to I restore my tablet! please help...
This tablet is Rebranded!
Info:
Model:iBall Slide i6012
RAM:1GB
INTERNAL MEMORY:8GB
SCREEN: 800×480 CAPACITIVE TOUCH
CPU:1.2gz Allwinner A10
Android Version :ICS 4.0.4
Please help me......
I've tried "use pin to restore " and "button combination " but not luck!
Before installing this,I install another WORKING(KIND OF) cwm modified. img.
You need a recovery specific to your device, provided you flashed it to the correct, i.e. recovery, partition.
thanks

The problem is that Window can not find my device. Sometimes it only appear as USB device and other times it doesn't recozniged at all. I tried updating ADB driver but that dont do any help...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20058157&postcount=1 try these.
also, "A. Install the drivers
1) Do not install the Samsung drivers or the pdanet drivers, or any other driver you come across. If you have, and you are SURE they are working properly, fine, leave them. Otherwise uninstall them if you are unsure;
2) Download the drivers from here;
3) Install the drivers. This step is the only part of the entire process that is not easy to explain, and may cause users some issues, depending on what drivers they had installed previously, what OS they are using, etc. etc. Bourne-nolonger has put together a very detailed step-by-step on how to install them. If you don't know how to install them, have a look at his post here. Note that the driver has to install twice: once when your device is booted normally (not required for this tutorial) with USB Debugging enabled in Settings, and once when your device is booted in fastboot (i.e., bootloader) mode (which is required for this tutorial). If you are using Windows 8, you will need to do this before installing the drivers."

USB is death!
hello again!,
I tried that and it does not work!
Computer can not even find my device.
When I plug in charger or USB cable, tab is light up and display iball logo and from there it stuck!
I mean it stuck forever!
What is APX mode?
Somehow when I press Menu and while still holding I pressed the power button simultaneously and my Computer Show "Unrecognized USB Device".
Please anyone help me. I dont even have the stock firmware to flash(if required) with!
Their Customer service is neglecting me and I'm really pisses!
Give me some light anyone
fastboot can not even open in my computer when I download and try to open! it said "can't find Winusbapi.dll"
while "winusbapi.dll" was in the same folder as the "fastboot.exe"!
I'm very new to this and it would be a great help if you can guide me to revive my only tablet!
After a little research, do you mean this recovery? [Not cwm at all] http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/35183-custom-recovery-for-c8a8m7/
Did you choose an option to flash it through partitions and storage menu? Did it allow you to back up your stock setup first (hopefully, if it is cwm-modeled)? If not, then I'm not sure I can help. Looks like your recovery is a recovery AND a kernel, packed into one [just leaned about this from a recent xda story]. I also found this: https://github.com/namko/midRecovery/downloads, with several other BETA versions. Maybe it would help you to google "iball slide". There is a stock 4.1.1 image on xda, which could also help. But overall, it looks like there is not much development for this device, and you should've researched the risks BEFORE tampering with your device!
p.s. I do not know what apx mode is. Also, is winusbapi.dll something that needs to be installed? Click it and see!
completely invisible to Computer.
Hi, can you show me the stock 4.1.1 image. I tried to find it but couldn't get it.
Please post a link here....
No, I did not flash with that modified recovery.
I'm. still amaze how a recovery.img can kill my tablet.
Im stuck in iBall logo. whenever I plug in tablet light up even if I switch it off before charging.
Window can only find my device as "Unknown USB Device ".
I updated ADB and still doesn't work.
I tried google and can not find anything other than piece by piece similarities.
all I want is to flash the stock recovery back!
I can not do it because my ADB is not recognizing my tablet!
I really appreciate your help though!

What ID "Unknown USB Device" in Device Manager?
I was wrong, it's an AOSP based rom; but it's a beta, and i will not recommend it, as it is probably quite far from stock. You didn't answer if that slate droid link is the recovery you took. That says it is not flashed, but rather externally booted.
This kind of recovery.img could kill a tablet in the following way: it looks as though these devices have both the kernel and the recovery together. [there's a recent xda article about a sony bootloader that addresses this.] If the kernel is bad, the device does not boot. Can you try a factory reset from your recovery's menu? So which recovery do you have, i.e. what does it say along the top?
can't see recovery menu

No, I did not flash with that recovery link you provided.
And I can not go beyond the "iBall" logo in the tab. So,no recovery menu. Also I tried all sort of Factory reset like "key" combination and "pinhole", none of them works!
can you help?

I have been lurking around on the forums like nobody's business trying to figure this rooting thing out. I have tried multiple times to root using pinned forum posts here on xda, one click methods, misc. websites, and youtube videos. Finding no success, I bricked my phone more than I would like to admit, and luckily, I unbricked it every time. I remain undettered in my quest for super user access, nevertheless.
I'm somewhat good with technology, but I am by no means a programmer. Linux is barely within my realm of understanding (and Ubuntu for that matter), just to give you an idea of what I'm capable of handling. As you can see, it's not too impressive. So please, if you would like to help me out, post a simple, easy to follow, step-by-step root method on my humble little post. Thank you
EDIT: I'm running android 4.0.3
Get odin software for pc and run it as admin.
Get TWRP odin download version 2.5 from original development section.
Place phone in download mode (volume down and power at same time, then volume up)
Connect phone to pc with stock charging cable using a powered usb port (usually the rear port)
Put TWRP file in PDA slot of odin.
Start. Let it run til pass shows.
Disconnect phone.
Exit TWRP and it will promt you to install root by flashing or doing something from the market. Take the market option.
Root acheived, custom recovery installed. Win-win.

Hi
New on here so sorry if I don't know to much
I have a Nexus 7 2012. Install Timurs kernel and Rom on my tablet and installed it in my car, and it worked great for months, then the other day it shut down. When I rebooted it, it gets stuck on the Google logo.
If I try boot into recovery it once again gets stuck at the Google Boot logo
I can get it into Fastboot mode but it wont connect to the PC. I am sure the Drivers are ok as I have another nexus 7 and i have today flashed a new rom using the WUGs Nexus Toolkit
Any Ideas anyone as at the moment I would class this as bricked as it wont boot, wont go into recovery and wont connect to the PC
Any advice would be hugely appreciated
Cheers

You can't go into your recovery?
Install ADB and try to connect your Nexus to your PC and enter "adb devices". See if your tablet is recognized like that.
How to setup ADB
Do not use toolkits with Nexus devices.

When you plug your tab in, does it even attempt to load drivers and just fails or does it not even recognize that you plugged anything in? Make sure by checking the Device Manager as you plug / unplug. If it just doesn't load correctly, then attempt to load the Naked Universal Drivers manually and then you should be able to get things back on track at least with fastboot flashing the stock img files back to it. If the Device Manager doesn't change or show any differences when you plug in the tab, then that's a bad thing... If you can boot to the bootloader still, most likely it can be fixed. If it only boots to a black screen and when plugged in shows the APX driver, you're boned. That problem IS fixable, but only if you would have saved your blob.bin and wheelie blobs before it went down, which I am certain you didn't do as it is not a common procedure.

Hmm. Very odd. Typically if the bootloader is still there, the rest is easily solvable. What happens when you choose the recovery option from bootloader? Unfortunately you have to test some more things to eliminate the easy stuff. These include trying different cords, ports, and computers. If possible, see if you can try a Linux PC as well or at least a Live CD. If TWRP still loads at all and supports USB OTG, you might be able to load something from it as a long shot.

Sucks man. Such a random thing and not typical of most Nexus issues. This is the only other option I can think of then: http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/asus-nexus-7-2012/ - Brick service. These guys are legit. They have a great reputation and I've personally used their services twice (different devices) and one was fixed while the other was a lost cause, but Josh was nice enough to refund some of the money since it didn't work. I'm guessing they would need to do what's called a JTAG service where they hook up (usually solder) a special cable to a specific port on the board and it kind of circumvents the other issues and reloads the OS back on.
Thanks for all you hep mate will prob give them a try
No problem. Good luck!
I tried flashing CWM recovery onto my AT&T Galaxy S4 and because my phone does not connect to my computer via USB for some reason (the phone charges and my computer recognizes that there's a device in, but I cannot actually do anything with it) I flashed it with Flashify. I rebooted into recovery mode, and I got slapped with the "Unauthorized software has been detected on your phone!" message. So I tried rebooting, and I got stuck in a recovery mode bootloop with the same message. Eventually, I realized if I just go into download mode and reboot by pressing the volume down key, it doesn't try to go into recovery mode. I have already endlessly researched my USB problem, and yes, I DO have USB debugging on. ODIN recognizes that I have an external device in as well, but I haven't tried flashing anything onto my phone with it because I don't want to brick my phone because the connection to my PC is faulty. I'm using the charger that came with the device as my USB drive, so that's not faulty either. I know rooting my phone did this, and I'm pretty sure it's because I missed a step. I used this tutorial to root my phone:
[droid views dot com] /root-att-galaxy-s4-sgh-i337-android-4-4-4-kitkat-firmware-i337ucufnj4/ (I'm not allowed to post links yet, so fix the URL if you're gonna have a look)
When I flashed the I337_NC1_Stock_Kernel, my phone refused to go into download mode and I couldn't flash the I337_NJ4_Stock_Kernel as a result. I'm pretty sure that's what caused it, but I have no idea how to fix it. I'm not an expert with my phone and, despite almost soft-bricking my phone via a corrupt CWM .zip, I'm not a newbie at this either. If I could figure out how to fix this problem, I wouldn't have to worry about throwing myself into a bootloop because I can just use ODIN. I was a sitting duck before download mode rescued me, so I'd like some help as to how I can accomplish this. Any and all help is appreciated. I am 100% certain my device is the right version for that tutorial, I wouldn't try to root my phone without checking all of the simple things first.
Hi Guys!
The last day I wiped my ADB sideload cache and factory reset my device.
After that, my OPX keeps rebooting and I was only able to enter fastboot mode (but the device isn't listed when i type: fastboot devices).
I've tried following the guide for hard bricked OPX but couldn't do it because i'm running linux, so i installed W7 into a virtual box.
The tool didn't work becouse i cant seem to allow installation of unsigned drivers in a virtualbox and i am running out of ideas.
On top of all that, the battery is drained and now i can't even enter fastboot. It just says "the battery is too low, charge for a while before power on!" and I can't charge it because it keeps rebooting in an interval of 3-4 seconds.
I have CyanogenMod 13 installed and since i factory reset it, i assume that debugging is not enabled.
Up until now, i was always able to figure something out when i scerwed my device up, but this time i have no clue what to do.
Could anyone here help me?
All help appreciated!.
Will it charge if you leave it in fastboot mode? I'm not sure how virtual windows works but normally you can press F8 on startup and select allow unsigned drivers.
First of all, you should charge the device, otherwise worse things could happen.. Can't you just keep it in charge when switched off?
After you reach a reasonable level of battery, you should be able to fix it: if properly set up, fastboot works very well on Linux and Mac also, so you don't need VirtualBox etc.
Maybe check your installation with other phones.
If everything ok, you should then flash both bootloader and sys using fastboot: be sure to download proper images (this especially goes for OS), ie recovery ones.

The main problem right now it that i can't charge it. It turns on automatically when i so plug it in and then starts rebooting, so i can't even charge it to the point when i cant enter fastboot.
I'm still not sure about the state that is mentioned in the hard-brick guide, when i need to hold the volume up button for 10 seconds and then plug it in without letting go of the button. When i do that, it doesn't turn on, but also doesn't charge.
Whew.. Bad thing :-S
Honestly, this goes out of my knowledge: looks something related more to onyx itself than android internals..
If you can't find a special button procedure to stop the bootloader and start charge, I fear you'll need to have it serviced...
But before giving up I'd suggest you to wait for some more valuable opinions..

Thank you nonetheless!
I've managed to succesefully run through the unbrick guide and managed to repair it.
Okay I read sth on unbricking.
I found that win xp is the best option for driver compatibility (no surprises here, Win7+ are far more restrictive on unsigned ones: Ms politics) ..
So find an original Ms xp setup iso (a home would suffice, pro is better.. Still an optimal OS IMHO.. So sad it's been abandoned) and install it on VirtualBox.. It should be able to bind to your onyx via USB (warn: this is not automatic: you have to enable usb bind from VM lower icons - warn2: you can do it only with the device attached).
VirtualBox virtual HW is very well supported in xp with its guest additions (even direct3d works fine, for instance), so you shouldn't have problems with onyx drivers.
If you can start the phone in "unbrick mode" and link it to Xp, it should work I think ..
Otherwise prepare yourself to format your beloved Pc
