I have a problem. My phone and wifi work but as soon as I switch off wifi I cannot get data connectivity.
1. I haven't changed my provider (Blau.de (Germany)). Used the phone before and it worked.
2. I use Siyah-Kernel 4.1.2
3. I use Dual-Boot (Primary is CM9 (stable)/Secondary is MIUI)
3a. When I installed Roms I made a factory reset/format data plus usual wipes
4. Modem installed is LPS (plus I used GetRIL to install right RIL)
5. I checked the APN and everything is as it should be
Any idea why I have this problem? And how do I fix it?

Check if your APN settings is correct.
Goto SETTINGS - more (under wireless and network) - mobile networks - access point names

No. I always try with Google Maps. Shows me "No data connectivity".

Yepp, I have.
And I want to add that I use ExTweaks with the Siyah-Kernel and I put the profile on "battery".
I tried flashing all kinds of ROMs and nothing worked. Went back to cm9rc, tried resurrectionmix etc.. Feeling kinda helpless. Using LQ6 modem atm but no reception. I have installed the right RIL as well.
There are quite some people with this problem but no solution yet.

Sometime it's just the sim card btw changing to a new one can improve your data speed by a lot I was getting 2-3mbps with old one and new 5-8mbps
I will try a new Sim card. But I cannot do that right now because people need to phone me.
Anyway, I tried my Sim in a friends phone today and I could not get any reception either. I talked to my provider who just told me to use a different password for the APN settings which did not work.
Looks like I have to try the "new sim card" method.

Hi! I have the problem as you with blau.de? Did you manage to solve it? I also lose signal a lot and I have to put the phone in airplane mode and then disable it to get signal. (Or reboot the phone). Does this happen also to you? Which modem are you using?

Now, I kinda dunno what to do anymore.
And while I was waiting for my new sim I sent my phone to Samsung because of some warranty issues. They repaired it, sent it back and confirmed that all connections are working.
I need a genius!

I've fixed similar issue for many people already.
If your APN settings is currently set, then test your new SIM in another phone.

Well I haven't done this with my brand new sim but I did it with the one I had before and I had no reception.
I believe my APN settings are correct because they were set up through the sim.
But I will try the new card in a different phone and then get back to you.
Btw: I was trying USSD-Codes today and the *111# does not work. I get an error saying: Connection problem or invalid MMI-code.
News: I tried my new card in a HTC Sensation and it didn't work.

i recently got a Galaxy s2
but i am having some problems with the network (have read many threads, but no fix so far)
so, the phone was 2.3.3 version
i flashed via odin stock roms to 2.3.5/6 version
but - no mobile network, changed different roms and on the KI3 i get 2-3 days using the mobile network, and then it loses the network...
any ideas what i can do?

Try flashing different modems until you find one that works well for you. There are a ton of threads on here which have links to modem downloads (and many of them are hosted on sites that still work), search for them.

i tried 4-5 modems...and not working..that's why i said i have read many threads
obviously i have to flash all possible region modems
Return phone to service centre .

so i flashed few more modems (like 7-8)
and i can see the signal strength is ok -around -60/-70 dBm...so obviously it's ok
and again for a couple of hours network was fine then,,,disappeared
*can't get it back to service center
other ideas?

Does this only happen with your sgs2 or does it happen if your sim is in another phone?

the sim card works perfect with other phones, that's why i think the problem is in the phone

What model do you have? Check on the sticker under the battery. Checking in settings doesn't show the true model. Eg, I have an I9100T but in settings it shows as the I9100 because I use a I9100 rom. I get crap reception on all roms until I flash an I9100T modem.

with my andy rom i'm in LPB modem and it work very fine but before, i was in ki4 or kg9 and i don't have problem with it
So FIXED
obviously it wasn't a modem problem, but sim card - wasn't working with no matter what sim card. So i did few times the hard factory reset and used again Helroz application from the market, and on the 3rd time, it worked.
10x for the help and the advices guys
what leaves as a question is : am i going to be able to flash custom roms, and what is changed after the use of Helroz application, so i can do backups?
Hi everyone,
I was using adfad666's KANG rom on new baseband using my old SIM card, but just moved to the US and got a T-Mobile prepaid SIM. I wasn't able to get signal using this card, though it was working on other mobile phones.
I thought it could be due to the new baseband, so I downgraded and tried a few roms for old baseband. Right now I'm with SlimGen, based on nightly, with no success. I also tried flashing aspee's baseband fix, but didn't get it working either.
Right now, automatic network searching says "Registered on network", though a warning sign appears on the tray saying "Selected network (T-Mobile) unavailable".
I've been reading this forums for a solution but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Has anyone had this problem before?
What combination of baseband, ROM and patches should I try?

EDIT: I'm also not able to find WIFI networks when scanning, though I'm not sure it's related.
It's possible it's the sim card, but you should first try updating the APN list: http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/wiki/APNlist

I don't think there's a problem with the SIM, as it works on other mobiles.
I'm not sure about this, but aren't APN's for data access only? I don't have regular 2g/3g signal.
It seems you use T-Mobile in the US, what baseband/rom/patch combination are you using? I would like to take that out of the way first.
I'll try to set up the APN, nevertheless.

I've been an assiduous fan of xda-developers roms.
I've never had a real problem with custom roms, I'm usually checking what is going on and what I should not do.
This week I've finally installed CM10.1 with JB on my SGS2 (I9100).
After two days working perfectly fine, I get non-stop "Network unavailable", I can search for the networks, they are visible, but when I try to register to the network, it says "Network unavailable".
What have I done so far:
* Flashed stock ICS rom
* Flashed back the custom rom I had before (cm9.1)
* Flashed a lot of RILS and Modems to see if I could get any luck.
I got a surprise when flashing DXLP9, I finally got signal, but as soon as I enabled data (3G) the signal has been killed (lost totally the signal), after disabling 3G and enabling it again I got no luck, these were the happiest 30 seconds of my life, I couldn't get it work again.
The IMEI is not blacklisted, I've checked myself at carrier's store.
I've tried so far everything I could research, I would really appreciate if someone has ever seen this happening, please help me.

It looks like its a blacklisted IMEI, however, network operator says IMEI is not blacklisted!

Try looking at imei maybe its problem. Restore your bk up if you have one. Maybe corrupted give propper imei but not let calls.through. dont no if helps. Try.

I've got problem with APN internet connection on my S3. When I turn on packet transfer, it doesn't connect to internet at all, even "connection icon" (that with 2 arrows blinking) doesn't show up. I downloaded APN configuration file from T-Mobile, so those are fine for almost sure.
What to do now?
Some basic info (according to Guide/Info thread):
- What Rom/Kernel/Modem you are using?
AP: I9300XXELLA
CP: I9300NELK2
CSC: I9300H3GELL1
- Are you rooted/unrooted?
Not sure, I bought phone in GB, but live in Poland. Simlock was removed too. It's fresh android instalation after Hard Reset. Never tried to personal root.
- Have you flashed any mods/scripts/themes?
No.
- Have you changed DPI? If yes, to what?
I dont know what DPI is.
- Have you done anything to try to solve your issue prior to posting the same?

Did you flash the latest stock ROM for Poland via Odin on your PC?

Calls and texts work as intented. Personally didn't flash anything on my phone.
It's important to mention, that internet connection did work for longer period ealier and one day for some reason it stopped.

Second Question is your network supplying you with mobile data or have they turned it off .Third what does your network / the phone vendor say about the problem .

Yes i have Mobile Data turned on. Yes, my network supplies me with mobile data.
I didn't ask T-Mobile about it yet, since I think it's phone-side problem. Can't really ask the phone vendor, since the phone was a gift so I didnt buy it personally.

Maybe I missunderstood the "phone vendor" part, but if you meant the place where I bought the phone, then it's probably no chance to ask him. If you meant the my actual Polish "GSM(?) Provider" (T-mobile), I didn't ask them about anything yet, but Yes, i pay them for "internet plan".
Low chances to check other sim card (atleast for today and very near future). Any other tips?

Morning!
I was randomly tweaking with settings today morning and turned on and off "plane mode". After that, my phone immediately caught Internet connection! Technology magic.
So it's working now. Thanks for caring about my problem.

It's a computer, turning things off then on again fixes 80% of all problems. You also might try clearing cache and dalvic in recovery, as sometimes cached copies of system files can corrupt.
If it starts to happen more often then reflash the rom.
Guys I have a strange problem my razr wont connect to any of the data 2g or 3g only on custom roms like 4.4 Kitkat,Carbon rom etc . I flashed them on slot 1,2 even on stock slot but no luck.. I tried to change Baseband But It always failed So guys help me.....

I fixed the network mess It was bad radio which did this all I flashed ICS radio and now network works fine in all roms (Stock and Custom) BuT bo mobile data on any of them

Now Phone says NO SERVICE on both stock And custom rom but reads sim card contacts & SMS's...
I tried reflashing stock rom But no success. Help me guys...
2g/3g for many of the newer roms has been a problem with both the XT910 and XT912. I know with cyanogenmod 10.2 I'm still not able to connect to 2g/3g although LTE does work. With the newest release of cyanogenmod 11 though I do get 3g and LTE, although some people have been reporting they are not. Seems it's headed in the right direction. Give the latest CM11 build a shot and see if it works for you.

Yup my SIM is in contract and working on other phones I can make and receive calls but not on razr I get NO SERVICE message
Open the phone (or dialer, whatever you would like to call it) and Dial *#*#4636#*#* and go to Phone Information and tell us what the preferred network is.

What ROM did you get LTE Only on?
I learned that sometimes ROMs can mess up NV's. The only way of fixing this is to wipe everything and start fresh. And when you are flashing you cannot downgrade, it will fail every time. You may already know what I am telling you but just in case.
And what carrier are you with?

In my case in testing I am on GSM auto prl. I tried Flashing JB stock moto BUT it also did not solved my problem. I have erased my cid and checked with different region stock also but no progress

I m having same mobile phone xt910 with idea sim ... already pissed with moto and google for not releasing JB in entire asia &
Now Same problem here but differnence i having this problem a sudden out of nowhere
its just been 13th month for my razr
never rooted or flashed ...
just updated to ICS from stock GB via usb data cable as update was in my country
I purchase a new microSIM & also did a data / factory rest from phone boot option ( u know from tht recovery option comes after rebooting in boot seq mode) to solve the problem but no positive result ... though i found one thing if u go to settings -> more -> mobile networks-> select network ... there you'll find 3 option
1) 2G only
2) 3G only
3) automatic default
well by 1st option works it given me range ... doesn't show no service or emergency calls but 2nd & 3rd option gives me same problem " NO SERVICE " or " EMERGENCY CALL "

I dont think its the problem of sim jack. Just go to dialer then *#*#4636*#*# then to phone info then hit menu key select radio band & choose option to automatic.. Hope this helps you.. I had same issue when I chose US BAND

Hi. I have XT910 for more than two years. After brought the phone from Australia to Hong Kong (use Hong Kong SIM card) and back to Australia (replace SIM card with Aus one), I have the same problem as you. Phone can make voice call, but no mobile data connection (3G, 2G).
Want to know if your problem is fixed or not?
I once had an issue like this on my xt910 gsm and I found a way to fix it
