Is there a way to get a PURE Android OS ROM... like the one thats on the Galaxy Nexus (JellyBean).
Only reason I ask is that I was intrigued to read that 'Gapless Playback' is now included within JellyBean. However on ROMS like ParanoidAndroid and Cyanogenmod the gapless playback feature isn't there??
I'm not sure which roms support it, but I know that PowerAmp supports gapless playback on any rom, even with Android versions before Jelly Bean.

Sounds like even people with Galaxy Nexus's are struggling to get it to work, and that devs of third-party music apps need to make changes to support the new feature in the new Jelly Bean SDK.
I would have thought that CM10 would have it, it would be unusual for a feature to be removed.
Boo!!
I only hope that true gapless playback will soon exist.
I can't believe its the one and only feature I miss from my iPhone!

Hi,
Is there any ROM based on Android 4.x which has Video recording not lagging? The same level of performance as on stock will be quite enough for me... No lagging while video playback would be also nice to have. I have tried Jokersax cm9 and cm10 and both didn't have these things working. Anyway, I would like to thank Jokersax and his work done to offer community the newest fancy stuff .
Or there's a common issue with drivers which prevents having video recording working stable in any ROM on Android 4.x? Is there any other option rather than waiting for official Android ICS release for MoPho?
Thank in advance for replying.

there's no drivers available for us to use for ICS/JB. so everything is hacked to kinda work. in this case it means lots of 2d related things don't work. video recording for example. JB is quite jittery at times. all due to lack of drivers.
if you want a stable rom with everything working. use a gingerbread rom.

CM7 by JOKERSAX is definately the best option for the most stable opperating system in my eyes, no offence to other builds or devs.
the cm10 version is running great for me after doing very small mods to get it working. I DO HAVE WORKING VIDEO ON CM10!!
The video illusions is the only video camera app ive had that works well and dosnt seem to run verry slow.. i had to disable HWA on the gallery and on the camera and the video cam app to reduce jitter and FC. but CM10 or any AOKP seems to be verry solid, i love to run AOKP JB roms from time to time to switch things up, THEBILL has a great selection to offer, jump to page 1 on any build to see what is still broken (borked?)
but the issue is that the drivers are hacked up from gingerbread and this is the best it will be + a few mods to improve quality until the release of ICS comes out, big hopes now with the photon Q being out and running ics/Jb
GOOD LUCK
let me know if i helped any!!
Hi everyone maybe this is another dumb question but here it is:
I know through all my phones stock apps doesn't work with AOSP roms but if I'm asking this question it's because I've downloaded a MIUI and I was surprised to see the Samsung camera app and video player in it! So is it possible to make those apps work with CM10?
I know Samsung smart features are deeply integrated in the Touchwizz framework but obviously MIUI managed to make the camera and video player app work with there ROM.
Again even after my explanation my question is still dumb I'm sorry but I'd like an answer!
Atomos.
I have tried many AOSP roms (actually mostly all of them) for i9100g (cyanogen was first ) and the major reason i did not stick to any of them for long time was because of the bad support for hardware accelerated Video play.
Most of the videos play on stock rom without any problem out of the box
Has this issue been addressed or can it be addressed ?
Is there any developer who can look into this??
This would help me and many others to permanently transition to the better performing AOSP roms.
I am a die hard fan of AOSP and wanting to know whether this has been fixed in any of the roms.
Since cyanogen and AOKP seem to be the base for most of roms for my device, i request them to fix it. Others will be fixed automatically.
does anyone face this problem or is it only me????
Fixed using dice player(best video player)
it is better than mx player
Hello everyone, help me please, I'm sick and tired of stock firmware, I would like to move on cyanogenmod 11, but I am haunted by the lack of stock music player and video list may have sposob make them work on the cm 11, I understand that in the cm of another application media server, can can solve the problem? (of course quite elegant could cram even video codecs from stock firmware even without stock video player) Help, can you somehow them to port, stock music player with his equalizer + Viper give wonderful sound. Help me, please.
Samsung apps does not work on AOSP ROMs. You will have to use alternatives.

Do not tell, because why? And maybe there is some sort of video player animated preview app-like video list?
There are ups and downs to different types of roms.
TouchWiz: Laggy(yds), features u will miss when gg to aosp etc, camera, the apps by samsung
Aosp etc: Poor camera quality, the stock music player app is not good, however very fast and snappy, no lag at all.

on the lg p990 forum we had the same problems with cyano.
Someone ported part of the lg framework on AOSP and we were able to use the official lg's camera (extracted from ICS) on cm10, instead of the crappy aosp one.
No way we can do something similar with i9300?
sorry, but it's not about the pros cyanide, about samsung apps, frameworks and TouchWiz also have ports, so why not to port these two applications?
Hi,
I have one problem with AOSP roms and I consider this as the biggest one.
I have a Galaxy S3 I9300 running Stock 4.3 deodexed, zipaligned etc.
Now with this ROM I am able to play almost all types of video files...Why is this not possible with AOSP roms?
I have always seen people installing different types of Apps (MX Player, VLC Player etc. etc..) to get all the videos playing...
But TouchWiz plays almost all types of videos out of the box...As of now I don't have any third party video player installed on my phone...
I am a big fan of CM, but refrain from installing it just because of this one reason!
Can someone please explain this to me...would be great !!
And please correct me if i am wrong...
Thanks.
Touchwiz is a hugely bloated layer on top of Android, everything works so even beginners have a good experience. AOSP starts with just Android, then you add the parts you want -if you want video then add it. AOSP on a Samsung device isn't ideal for new users

Thanks for the answer but that's exactly what i want to know...
How can i enable support for all types of video files without installing numerous video players?
Are there any codecs which when installed on AOSP will do the magic??
Thanks
Some codecs aren't included in AOSP as they are not free. Same reason AOSP does not include gapps.
