Why tab browsing in the default ICS browser is so painful? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Say that I have multiple tabs open, and I want to open a bookmark
page in one of them. I go to Menu > Bookmarks and open the
page I wanted. But what happens is that all the tabs are
automatically closed and I am left with only one tab; the one in
which I opened the bookmark.
Any way to fix it?

[Q] How do I return to the Web Home Page?

When you are browsing a web site and want to return to your google.com home page, HOW do you do it?
Is there a one button push to get there like most browsers have.

Click to collapse
Menu >> Close Existing Tab, that should create a new session with Default Home Page. or you add a bookmark shortcut for your home page on your home screen.
menu > new window
also, you know the top right button beside the URL is a shortcut to bookmarks right?

Stock Browser Question

When I visit a forum scroll down to the bottom, and click on the next page, the browser remembers that I was at the bottom of the page and always opens new pages starting from the bottom.
Is there any way to change this behaviour? I've searched through settings, but I can't seem to find anything.

stock browser launches blank page

Verizon GSIII - launching the stock browser gives me a blank page. I have gone into settings and set my home page as google and that did not work. I have restored the default setting for the browser and that did not work. any suggestions on how to get the browser to load the home page when launched?
Also, I would like to create a shortcut to Google Voice Search (Google search bar has it) so that i can use it as one of my lock screen shortcuts, but it does not show up in my application list.
Try clearing app data under SystemSettings->Apps->All->Browser
If that doesn't help - use Opera or Chrome from Play Market.
I'm not sure about lockscreen customizations - RTFM.

Auto fit web pages?

On the s3 there was an option in the web browser settings to auto fit pages. What it did was when you was reading something it automatically fit it to the page so you didnt have to scroll left or right to read things. Do they have this option on the s4? I really miss it. I also miss if you pinched all the way in on the s3, it would open up all the web pages you have open and running.

[Q] Browser that open tabs in background without having to choose between options?

Hi,
I am looking for the perfect browser. That to me is a browser where you can open a new tab in the background just by long-pressing the link - without clicking anything else. And when you read a tab, you close it with one click of a button (often the back key), after which it stays on the other open tabs, before, when there are no other tabs open reverting to the first (origional) site. Typcially, you would be reading part of a newspaper, when you see the headings of an interesting article, you long-press the link. When you have opened some tabs (especially if there is a limitation on the number of tabs), you start reading them, and ends up at the frontpage again, and can start opening more tabs again.
And yes, a lot of the browsers can open a tab in the background, but I only know of Xscope that can open a tab in the background just by long-pressing a link.
Opera and Dolphin are almost there in the sense that they stay on the tabs until you have read them all, but you still have to choose what action to take when long-pressing a link, i.e. an extra click every time.
And these do no not stay on open tabs, but goes to first window when closing tab: Chrome, Opera Mini, Next, Maxton, Firefox, One, Baidu, UC Browser.
And why do I not stick to Xscope: because you can only open 6 or 8 tabs at a time, but even worse is that on LG G2, stock, 4.2.2 it does not format the view of the pages so you have to zoom, but that just makes the font too small to read. Worked find on Slimrom on Galaxy SII, so not sure what is wrong.
So, if somebody know of a browser that fits with the above, please let me (us) know.
