Hi there, ive only just purchased my evo 3d and im overwhelmed by all the apps etc... i dunno where to start, got the basics, facebook, youtube, bbc iplayer..looking for free 3d games or free HD movies ?
wondering if someeone could give me a list of essential things or anything just great.
also any tips/tricks for the phone appreciated. cheers
Is it rooted? Free as in warez not allowed on xda. Can I assume it got creamy good cool ics installed

nope, i was hoping to keep it that was as im happy with the way it is but would like some cool things, i know down the line i will end up rooting to get much better apps etc.. but for now i want to see whats good and available on a standard brand new evo 3D
i know everyone will say to root it but not just yet

The optimus 3D has a sweet 3D gallery and YouTube 3D and a nice carousel where you can select games or the gallery and stuff Can we port it to our phones? Im surprised it hasn't been done yet. Can someone port it to our phones?

It wouldn't hurt to try.
Via My HTC Evo 3D On The Now Network From Sprint.
I pulled the apk and tried normal installation... FC... Tried pushing to system/app... FC... Changed permissions... FC. Anyone got any ideas as to how to make it work for the Evo 3D? I'll post the apk if someone wants to try editing it.

People have tried numerous times. This is like the 10th thread I've seen about this. It's too difficult.
If we look at how the lg application was build cant we just take the elements from it and implant it in a totally new app?
Like if you create a Htc evo 3D app but then fill it with the lg goodness ?
Because the framework is different doesn't mean we can't try to remake the app right..?
Yea we really got ripped as far as 3d content on our phones. We didn't get Jack and still don't have anything aside from a couple YouTube videos

People have offered a bounty, but nobody's interested. Like said above, this is probably the tenth thread on this exact same thing. Besides, while it's flashy, it really doesn't offer all that much. It's just a portal to 3D content.
If it uses different framework, to my knowledge, it would be pretty hard to get on this device since you would have to build it from the ground-up. Porting wouldn't be possible.

There are several apps being used which we currently have on our device, by looking in them we may have the ability to tweak it for our EVO3D.

I have Newts One S Rom and I must say it is amazing. But I can't take or view 3D pictures or Videos. Can somebody help me?

It's still a ROM that has quite a bit of progress left to go before it is fully functional. As it isn't a 3D-based ROM, and instead a port from another device, getting 3D working is a pretty large undertaking. You won't be able to take 3D pictures or play 3D games for a while. Keep an eye on Newt's thread for updates, and maybe you'll get lucky one day soon and he'll iron that out.

What's so hard to believe? Just because the 3D didn't sell well doesn't mean it's underpowered. Hell, I bet the original Evo 4G can play this just fine too, even without the graphics turned all the way down.
in fact, I'm going to try it right now.
OK, so I was a bit optimistic about not having to turn the graphics all the way down. But still, it's easily playable.

okay i fixed it , i didnt set my setting to high befor messing with the xml file , make sure you do it first or it wont =)

Running stock ics rooted.
Need to stop car dock mode from starting everytime I dock it in my van, as I'm never gonna use dock mode, and I'm in and out of my van 20+ times a day.
I have searched but only found posts in custom Rom threads...
Any ideas?

First off please post in the correct place and 2nd If you are rooted, you can download Titanium Backup Pro and freeze the Car Home app.

This will disable it every time
Car home is not listed in Titanium backup, does it have a different name?

Isn't there an option in the settings for the Car application that will prevent it from opening? Pretty sure I saw one when I had my EVO 3D.
Maybe on gingerbread but not on Ice cream sandwich.
Although I think the option was missing on gingerbread too.
