Just checking to see if anyone has had any luck playing the new game Horn on their Touchpad. I'm running CM9 alpha 2 on mine and the Play Store says it's not supported. It's not for my 3VO, either, but that's another thread...

Same on my end. Maybe modifying the fingerprint in the build.prop could have some success?
i have tried everything still unsuccessful :S
the answer its simple its tegra 2/3 exclusive only, there is no modification like build prob or chainfire,
so if you want to play buy tegra device or wait 5 or 6 month maybe more
My Galaxy S2X has the same flavor chips as the touch pad. That being said, they should get along well since the Play store informed me I can join in on the fun!

So I updated my Swype today and noticed that the same company has a new program called Dragon Go, which is a lot like Siri for iPhone. So far it seems pretty capable.

I had the same compatibility problem on CM9, I just had to install the newest version of the .apk and it's been working just fine, it doesn't show up or update in the market though.
Attached the .apk I used
Edit: fixed apk

When I first got the s3 I downloaded these games - fifa 12 and dead space. I played these games then updated ota to LF2. I'm UK unbranded. I played these games all the time after the ota update but now after factory resetting the phone I tried to download the games but it says my device is not compatible with this version. One game hasn't even been updated so it's not the games. Any body know why ??

It may be that the games are not compatible with the firmware you upgraded to.
This seems to be an issue when going from one version of android to another...

maybe a full data wype?
Tried that doesnt work.
Is there any point in going back to XXLE8 then downloading them before i update phone ???? Or have the developers simply added gs3 to the not supported list
If anybody out there is on uk unbranded XXLE8 still could you please check if fifa 12 and or dead space is still available in the play store please.
also wouldnt hurt if somebody on XXLF2 could also check aswell. thanks

*Cleaned up OP. Started collecting too many old links. *
I saw this on the news page and have been following it since then. Google Now finally comes to ICS and should work with any AOSP ROMs.
Latest Development as of 8-6-12: There has been some new developments on this. XDA user cajunflavoredbob has put together a nice write up on explaining everything and new downloads. Check it out here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756226&postcount=2856
I flashed it right over my ParanoidAndroid ROM and also AOKP and it works great. Should work fine on CM9 as well but I havent tested that. As always, backing up before flashing is a good idea.
VIDEO: XDA member Tomsgt has made a video showing how to install and also a little sample of what it looks on our phone. Check it out here:

I saw this on the news page. I believe CM9 is AOSP based so it should work for us too. I'm in the process of backing up my ROM now before trying it. I'm at work so I may not get around to it right away. But if anyone else wants to try it out, here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749045
EDIT: Ok, I got it working partially. The voice search, for some reason, doesnt work. But manually typing it in does. I dont know if there is a fix for that. I'm in the forum seeing if there are any answers to this. But it does work, somewhat, if anyone wants to try it out.

I will post here when there is voice search fix. Apparently its getting worked on. As it is right now though, its pretty cool. Searching for stuff works just the same and you get the "cards" feature. I never used the Google search box before so I didnt really mind replacing it.
Bump for OP change.
So far I'm not too impressed with how it works in cm9. It's very sluggish for me, I have to touch the screen after searches to get results to "refresh", and it has caused a reboot twice while doing a voice search. I flashed via cm7 recovery, cleared dalvik and cache. Also for some reason I can't get it to add a shorts team to the sports card.

The search results show in google now's built in browser. I dont think you can change that. But any link you select in the results should open in whatever browser you have set as default.

It is still a little buggy/sluggish. But every feature is present in this. You will get notifications and cards and voice search and it will talk back to you. If you don't even use the built in search now, then you have nothing to lose.

I was running TP Objection and the game worked fine. I am now on jaxx 0.6a and it goes to load the game and just sits there on the splash screen with the circle in the middle and never goes past that. I have tried clearing the data, deleting the downloaded files and then installing the game again but that didn't work. I wonder if it doesn't like the aosp rom's.

I'm sure it will be able at some point. I don't know if there will be issues with moving drivers to it, but i don't think it will be too long after the release till we see at least a bit of progress on it.

It's endorsed by Canonical, so yes. They don't release or distrubute anything closed source. That's the reason you can't get stuff like Oracle Java or Google Chrome as part of Ubuntu without doing the legwork to install it yourself.
The good thing is that by the time we are all bored of jellybean and development has slowed, it will probably be ready to flash on our rezzie. Good reason to keep the phone another year or so. Who else registered their email for info.

Well they did recently add proprietary Nvidia drivers to their official repositories. Not to mention that the mainline kernel does have some blobs in it (of course that's why GNU maintains a version that is open source only).

Hopefully eventually we can get something like Replicant (100% free and open source version of Android).
I'm probably dreaming, though, since we have way too much proprietary hardware.

Ubuntu would be so fun on a Rezound! But would it still be able to do all the messaging/calling features from android? Would it even be significantly different in that respect?
Either way it would be fun!!!

From what I've seen while looking at videos and whatnot, the experience is totally different. It reminds me of a really fancy Meego. Which is a good thing, imo.
I don't pay much attention to Engadget anymore, but they've a very good video up on Ubuntu for Phones. The founder of Cantonical says that it will be available to download and that "we have a large community, we expect folks will help make images for a variety of different devices." I think that pretty much confirms our open source questions.
