Contact group assign - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I feel like a complete tool/noob asking this but I cannot seek to figure it out nor find an answer.
I have my contacts sync from various accounts(facebook, gmail). However I cannot assign them to different groups ( ie. Friends, family)
Do I need to make a separate phone contact for each and join them all or am I missing something very easy?
Thanx in advance for any help with this utterly ridiculous question.

[Q] Display the 'organization' field for contacts on my SGS2

Hello XDA community
Long time lurker first time poster lol
I have searched for this and haven't found much.
What I would like to do is have the contacts list on my Galaxy S2 display the Organization field when I am scrolling through it, for example:
First Name Last Name Organization
Jack Smith Samsung
John Smith XDA Developers
Anyone who has used an iPhone will know what I mean.
I've tried GO Contacts and there was no option I could find to do this either.
Any ideas?

That is a feature for up-comming versions.
Just post your idea to Google and Samsung.
Meanwhile you can "mis-use" the group to get your contact sorted by "Organization".
Enter the organization into group field and use the Groups view to scroll through your contacts.
EDIT:
Alternatively you can use the search on top of your contacts to search for a special organization name.

[REQUEST] Removing join contact: 5 contact limit

I guess the thread topic speaks for itself.. I have been using HTC android phones for a while now but recently moved to using the Samsung Galaxy SIII. One annoying thing with the same contacts from different accounts is that it only allows joining 5.
Is it possible to remove this limitation so that more than 5 can be joined at a time?
I have another question to add. If I join contacts , will that gets saved in Google account so that in future I don't have to join them.?

No, it will not save the merged social contacts in Google. In the event that you wipe your device, you will have to merge them all over again. One workaround to this is to backup your contacts through Recovery or Titanium Backup & restore after reset.

HTC one x plus - apps advice

Hello everyone
I hope someone can help me with this.
I have just moved to android from ios and hopefully i'll stay on android because of the fact that it can customize everything on it.
I have a question regarding some apps at the moment.
Does anyone know any good app for hotmail that allows to see all the folders.
At the moment the native app it makes it very hard to browse through my hotmail account where I need a few steps in order to switch folder and in addition it doesn't tell me which folder has emails unless I go in it.
On the iphone I was greeted with all the folder as a root window and each folder had a notification showing how many non read messages were in each folder so browsing was easy.
I've tried hotmail seven as well but the problem with the folder is the same unless I need to do something with the settings, which I don't have any clue about.
If someone has used hotmail and know what I'm talking about then please let me know if you know about any app.
Secondly: I wanted to know if there's an app that allows me to receive notifications about messages, emails etc but without showing the contentn of the message and that gives me also the ability to put passwords on messages so that it can't be accessed without it.
and finally: I'd like to know if you guys are aware of a good contacts manager that allows to keep contacts private so that names and similar stuff is now shown in the incoming and outgoing calls.
Sorry for the many questions but will appriciate if you can help.
Thank you
What I do to find all this information is go on Google and type in (example) best hotmail app for android and read the post.

In case anybody comes across this thread in their search, I found this: http://www.hanheide.net/2013/02/new-app-to-separate-accidentally-joined.html
it's a simple app that separates all contacts. It's avail from this developer's github and just does that one thing. It takes a min so if you get a message that it's not responding, tell android to wait. It worked on my Nexus 4, that's about as much as I can say about it.

[Q] Replacing the standard app for contact mangement

Hi All
I am looking for an app that can be used to replace the standard contact management on i9300 g3.
I have an HTC one x as well, and its contact managemnt is far better.
One thing that i am looking for in particular is the ability to link multiple contacts to a single person?
Eg i have a contact
Joe Blogs,
Joe has Linked in, Facebook, Gmail, Sms, Email address and they all may be different contacts.. but they are all the same person.
HTC lets you automatically join these contacts. and even makes suggestions
I am looking for an app that will do all this.
Applogies if this is the wrong forum for this.
Regards
