So, how do you apply a screen protector on this phone without getting any bubbles/dust?
I've looked up many, many videos on how to apply a screen protector, but 90% of the time, the dust would come back on when I plucked it off with tape.
Also, these are the Sprint screen protectors.
I really dig the zagg ones because you get the spray to apply it with.
As far as the sprint ones, wipe off the screen with a microfiber cloth and pray.
I'm pretty sure you need to go to a large research university and apply it in a vacuum to get it to be airbubble free

Run the shower in the bathroom to get some steam going, then install it. I got my Realook installed, *no* dust. Took a few tries to get those few specs off with tape.
I posted some pics here:

i have installed hundreds of zagg shields..just spray the screen (after cleaning it) spray the back of the screen shield, put it on, squidgy out the liquid (spray the top of the screen shield) let it dry

I have found a quick misting or steam of the air in work area prior to install helps take care of dust particles

+1 on Zagg invisibleSHIELDs. Best $25 you'll ever spend.
A little water with baby oil on the screen will keep it from sticking right away, its the easiest method I've come across

I personally like the 3M ones you get on eBay. Same idea as the zagg ones at a quarter of the price. Mines been on 11 months now with no lifting. I lightly mist the protector with a liquid soap/water mixture and place it onto the clean screen, at this point it still slides a bit. Get it into the perfect position and use a thin t-shirt or something over the edge of a credit card to squeeze out the excess liquid. The t-shirt will also soak up the little bit of liquid that comes out so it doesn't get into the phone.
I've done this with several other phones in the past as well with zero issues.

Screen protector for Droid Razr
Well I had ordered the Skinomi screen protector for the Droid Razr and it was pretty much useless for me. It is a water adhering type and could never get it straight until several attempts, and even then after it dried it felt very rubbery and not smooth to use on a touch phone.
I also had a couple of basic protectors ordered with 2 tpu gel cases I ordered from ebay and they were pathetic. Watch out using stuff they throw in for free on ebay with case orders as they aren't worth hassling to put on without bubbles and scratch easily anyway.
Funny enough, after spending 30 bucks on cases and screen protection I have gone back to using the screen unprotected and it fits a leather slide case I bought and cut the belt clip off of. Fits snuggly and the screen is protected in my pocket. I am careful when getting it in and out but have dropped it once and only a couple small scratches on the back corner, the screen is still perfect.
PS. on a side note when I first bought the Razr there were no screen protects available and I ended up using a HTC HD7 mobile screen protector and it was slightly wider and did not reach all the way top and bottom. I regret taking it off, as it fit without bubbles and was tough. Might just buy another and cut the sides off a bit.
Just got new screen protector in mail
Just received the QtFolix screen protector from Germany I ordered a couple weeks ago. Been waiting to try it out on the Razr.
I work in a private hospital in the sterilizing section so have access to dust free environment, air guns, lint free cloths and such. Its a stick on protector so no water needed. Will give it a good go to put it on and will post back with results. Looks like a good quality protector, set me back 10 bucks for just the one. I won't have second chances with this so fingers crossed.
Are there not enough threads on this?
Ghost Armor. Its invisible, and feels very close to the actual screen.

Martin fields SP is pretty good.
Steinheil ultra crystal, feels amazing and waterless application. Tried skinomi this time to save a few $$, took it off, it was horrible.
Steinheil Ultra Fine for me. No glare, no fingerprints and doesn't feel like it adds any thickness. In fact, it doesn't seem like it's even on.

Why do you even need a screen protector? It's already Gorilla Glass. Do you bump your phone against things all the time?
Nothing is going to scratch or crack the screen.
GG is not scratch proof. Especially against sand. There's a reason you always see them demo it against keys or coins but never use sand or glide it across a gritty sidewalk like if you dropped it and it slides. There's plenty of forum threads where people talk about scratches they've gotten.

I bought a 3 pack from Verizon and ordered some skinomies (spell?) Online. Took the Verizon one off today as it gathers a lot of smudges.
The way I see it, the average person won't scratch it naked. However, I've watched some drop test videos and this puppy cracks easy. So in my opinion, all a screen protector will do is keep those broken pieces intact, which will hold you over until you get a replacement.

I am using the clear screen protector from Verizon. Pretty good although I can see fingerprints in low light. And it took me 4 tries (read: 4 of them) to finally get it right.
My GF had a Zag clear screen protector put on her Droid X at a mall kiosk. Those things are hard to install yourself but a Rep at the mall can do it in no time. It looks great. Had I known about this, I would have done that for my Razr.

The Steinheil Ultra Fine covers the whole screen on mine except for cutouts for the mic, camera and flash.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'dry'. It has a squeegee for getting out air, but there was no water involved in putting it on and no instructions about leaving the phone off like the other poster was saying with another brand.
It went on very easily - no problems at all - but it does come with two in a package so if you did have trouble you have a spare.
I really love the anti-glare and no fingerprints. I had the one on that came with my Otterbox defender and before that just the bare screen. Both of those had me constantly wiping smudges off and battling glare more than I realized until it was no longer an issue.
Has anyone tried the Skinomi Drytech for the razr (GSM International)? I'm not sure if it'll even fit the US version of the phone, but it looks like it might be worth checking out. I can't post the link yet, but searching "razr dry" on the skinomi website will bring it up first on the list.

Just got some review products in and applied this bad boy a few minutes ago. If you're looking for a protector that completely fights off grease and oil but keeps the screen looking the EXACT same, then this is the one for you. You can't even tell it's on. Application is easy and the protector fits the screen almost exact. So exact, however, that you have to make sure the top of the protectors lines up exactly with the top of the phone. If you leave a few mm of space at the top, you'll get this (see photos).
Besides that, this is almost the perfect protector. I also have their Matte protector and I'm getting the GLAS.t in soon. I'll have reviews up on my YouTube channel: http://youtube.com/BlackPrince310.
Thanks for the review, I look forward to seeing your review of the glas.t product. I'll be ordering it via Amazon once SGP adds it to their Amazon storefront in the next 2-3 weeks (according to their email reply).
Oh hey i just saw your review last night i left a comment.

This screen protector just arrived and it is now in my garbage. what you need to do is just get the cheap screen protectors on ebay from hk. You can get like 3 of them for like 3 bucks. That is the route I usually go. Cant justify getting the so call premium screen protectors.
well, will know in a couple hours when the mail comes.
EDIT: It definitely was a surgical procedure to get this thing on just right, but oh man, it is AMAZING! You do need to rub off the glue on the front real good after you pull it away, but I actually like the feel of it compared to the screen. Can't even tell it is there!!!
One little tiny dust near an edge is all I can see. Maybe if I get too annoyed I will pry it up and use the dust removers (haha stickers). But it will probably just let more in.
Just curious as to how many people use a screen protector on their TF. If you don't, how's your screen holding up?

Biggest tip I can give is to apply the screen protector in the bathroom after running a hot shower to get the steam in the room to make the dust die down. Also, the bit of added moisture in the air helps to let you slide the screen protector around a bit before letting it become settled.

I use clear tape to get dirt out from underneath. But yes bathroom helps although I don't make it steamy. The biggest problem I ran into was aligning the whole thing. One corner would always be off just a tad. I ended up trimming it a bit and I can't even tell.

My tf101 was a best buy display model. It didn't have a screen protector then and it doesn't have one now. I sell saltwater livestock for a living and I'm a mechanic on the side, so it frequently comes in contact with dirt, grease, and saltwater. Not a scratch on the screen. I use a targus case to protect the screen when its not in use.
Regarding putting a screen protector on. Its just like window tint fellas. Clean screen as best you can. Mix some hand soap and tap water in a spray bottle. Spray screen protector and device and apply screen protector. Now spray front side of screen protector. Use a credit card or rubber squeegee to squeegee the water out from under the protector. As the water comes out it will drag the dust with it. Keep a towel on hand to dry the device as the water runs out. You might see a little water left under the protector after squeegeeing but it will dry completely over the next few days so don't worry about it.

And...you'd be wrong. All those things he did most likely wouldn't scratch regular glass. For the most part keys and coins aren't hard enough. What will scratch glass, gorilla or not, is sand. Had the transformer since it was first released. After a few months of ownership i tried the SGP ultra fine matte protector as the insane glare was starting to bother me. Had that on for a few months during which the screen nor the protector took any damage as i keep it docked when its not in use. Took it off 3 months ago and since then i've gotten one hairline scratch thats about a cm long, not noticeable unless you knew where it was.
I would say if you keep the thing docked and take care when cleaning the screen its not necessary to have a screen protector. However if you don't use a dock and the tablet is constantly exposed to any number of things that can scratch it, or you're not in the habit of taking good care of your gadgets then a screen protector might not be a bad idea.
Every time i see one of those glass scratch demos i facepalm as i've had quite a few devices that were supposed to be "scratch proof" get scratched by the most mundane things. Its all about angle, material, and force. I can slice a screen and not get a scratch but angle it a bit and give it more pressure and I bet i can get these screens to scratch pretty easily.

I've used ZAGG a few times, once on my zune, once on my evo and again on my evo LTE. The original ZAGG product is one of those soft wet apply films that are a bit grippy compared to a hard plastic film protector. I hated it for my zune and i hated it for my evo because of the grippiness as well as the slight orange peel effect. Over time the zune's wore down enough so that it was smooth and had no orange peel, but that took about a year and only in the spots you swipe around to change tracks and volume. Same thing happened with my evo.
On the Evo LTE I was tempted to try zagg HD, which actually was much better than the original film in that it was a lot more clear and had less grip, but alas it was still a soft wet apply film and i just couldn't get used to it.
If you like the grippy texture then the zagg and similiar soft films last longer than the hard plastics. It seems like a love it or hate it situation for a lot of people, myself included.
I will always go with the hard plastic dry install as those are in my opinion easier to apply because you can hover over the screen and slowly lower it as opposed to sliding it around on liquid and then have to squeegee it all out later. Even if i have to replace it once every few months as opposed to once a year for the zagg, i will still stick with the hard plastics.

I use one of the "antiglare" protectors. You lose a little bit of sharpness, but the tradeoff for MUCH less reflection from outside light and smudging from fingerprints is well worth it, IMO.
As to the application of said protectors, I ordered a pack of three from a seller on Amazon (and they accidentally shipped me TWO sets of three, giving me six) and practice definitely makes perfect. Patience is key. It helps to work in a bathroom after running a very hot shower to get the room all steamy, which seems to knock a lot of dust bits out of the air.
On that note, does anybody need an antiglare screen protector? I seem to have a few extra. PM me.

I've had my nook since they started selling them. I place it in a zip lock bag and transport it that way inside a computer case. I have not put on a screen protector and still no scratches. I use an alcohol swab and dry it off with a silk sun glass cloth when I clean.
I bought the nook as a transitional, throw away device but ended up using it 3 - 4 hours per day since I purchased it. Without the screen protector, the screen is beautiful. I use a screen protector for my phone because I put it in my pocket with other stuff.
I will probably get a screen protector for a more expensive tablet when I ditch the nook. However, no problems without a screen protector since I bought it in November. Again, I place it in a plastic bag and then place that in my computer bag when transporting to work.
Ya dang right I use a screen protector! LOL I'm a cheapskate, so I want to make sure my toys stay functional as long as possible. My NT is no different.
One of the best investments I've made with this thing is my screen protector---invisibleSHIELD from Zagg. It's about $20, and takes a little bit of effort to apply it, but it's virtually indestructible! My job tends to be kinda rough on my toys, but I gotta tell ya, this is money well spent

Yeah, that too. Reduces friction between finger and screen. :good:
I always use protection.
I'm in. Cheap insurance. And a TPU body condom, too. Same setup on my 4 year old Droid X that's been dropped several times and it still looks new. I have doubts that the NT would survive the same treatment, though.
I can't stand the way most screen protectors feel. I use an M-Edge jacket case instead. Makes for an awesome stand, very convenient while watching movies
When I got my phone, I was going to get the $15 pack of Sprint screen protectors: the dry ones I've always used. Except... they were anti-glare and they don't have clear and I don't like the sparkles and reduced resolution of anti-glare or matte screen protectors. So the store talked me into the Zagg. I'm not a fan of the wet-apply screen protectors but thought I'd give it a shot for once. To each their own: some may love them, but I hate this Zagg screen protector and find it almost unusable! Orange peel out the wazoo (I can live with that since it doesn't reduce resolution) but the worst thing is that it's "sticky" like soft rubber. I can't even slide my finger (well) on this thing! Tried cleaning it and no amount of cleaning, washing hands, pressing lighter, etc. fixes it. Sliding my finger feels like I have dried sticky soda on my fingers.
So... being early in the game, has any one found a dry-apply clear screen protector they'd recommend, either from local stores (Best Buy, etc.) or online?
Edit: Maybe I should have posted this in accessories, but thought maybe someone had a solution to the sticky Zagg so I put it here.
Thanks,
Mike
Well i always used the cheapo SP, and i ordered four for $2 from Ebay the other day. Took like 2 days to get to my house. Only thing is, is that it dosen have the cut-out for the proximity sensor, but it functions just fine. Turns off when i make phone calls and everything. Some may not have luck with others that dont have the cutout, but this one works just fine. heres the link. If you want, i can send you one to try out. I have 3 left, and there no way ill use all these. WEnt on super easy and looks good. Lemme know. PM ME if u want. Be glad to mail ya one. Also, the one from Sprint SUCK. they dont even cover the whole phone. Just the screen itself. THey dont even go all the way doesn to the buttons. Unreal

Go with steinheil. Pretty good price on Amazon and you get two screen protectors.

I have always used clarivue screen protectors. Top notch and super easy to put on with NO bubbles. Little expensive ($15) but it comes with 2. I put them on every device I have. I love them.

Thanks,
Mike

I just got these . Man its the best protector IMO. It doesn't scratch and you can't even tell its on the phone . Fits the phone perfect . Not rubbery like the zag .

Zaggs loose their stickiness over time, but Steinhel seems to be the best.

I've personally always liked and used Zagg. And it will slick up over a few days. If not, take it back, they are great on warranty. That being said, I got the Zagg HD for my lte. Can't tell it's on there at all.

the problem I have with zagg is that ridiculous price of $25...no way in hell a piece of plastic should cost that much.

I always buy the full body clear protectors from www.BodyGuardz.com, it always helps my phone resale value too. This time I went and bought the Black Carbon Fiber skin with the screen protector. Makes the Phone look and feel much better too. They also have Red and White.

I purchased from a luckeyminky on eBay. It is the type with two step application. First step exposes the sticky side. Smooth out the bubbles. Then remove step two layer. I reccomend cutting the top right cornner . It will get caught and eventually pull the protector off. Also if you get a piece of lint use one piece of scotch tape to life the screen protector another to grab the piece of dust. Did that last night with awesome results.
