Swyped on my EVO LTE
That seems pretty low. Hopefully its just due to it not being fully rolled out yet
Holy ish.... I didn't think I would ever see this in my home town..

I first picked it up in Valley Center and by Hartman Arena in Park City. But yes it does seem a little slow and at times it would drop the network and reconnect almost immediately. I hope it does get faster. But right now i feel like moving to KC for the LTE and Google Fiber.. /nerdgasm
I just ran some speed test.. It's not doing to bad but I've never had anything better than 3G so I might just be in awe...
I also wasn't getting internet at first so I updated PRL and profile and now it's screaming fast. (compared to 3G)

There are only a few towers with LTE in wichita right now. Once the roll out is complete it will be better.
They're definitely working on it. Im getting a signal at my house I wasn't getting a few days ago. I forced lte on my evo and have been connected and surfing for about 30 min now without dropping the connection. Not super fast but can't wait to try it when its complete. I wonder how long it'll take. Any guesses?
Well sheeeeeeyit. I was just in Wichita a couple days ago to visit the folks. Didn't even think about trying LTE tho...

Anyone else getting crappy 3G speeds in A town?
I'm pulling .06 at best pretty much anywhere in town. In the sprint store I got .38, but I bet they have a airave.
I called customer care and apparently there is a CTMS ticket for the entire network.
The tech I talked to told me that he suspects they are beginning to leverage the 800mhz spectrum from Nextel right now which means they may be partitioning off some of their backhaul. Apparently they are doing these upgrades city by city, but he said that in Atlanta it's been this bad for 6 months now, and that the CTMS ticket gets opened and closed every week.
Weird.
Anyone with a higher paygrade in Sprint care to *anonymously* elaborate?
seriously, I'm the only one in Atlanta with 3G problems???
I'm in Kennesaw with no problems. I was in the outskirts of Atlanta on Friday and didn't notice anything unusual.

When I've flown through Atlanta I get great signal... But I mean it is at the airport so I guess it doesn't count

I'm good signal wise, it's the speed itself that confounds me. I've tried virusrom, viperom, WTSB, and steelrom. WTSB seems to be the best, BUT no 4G yet. I'm in a 4G coverage area, so I'm not willing to do without considering it's faster than my 3G speeds.
I'm in Vinings, and here are my 3G results:

Even if you have full signal strength to whatever router i noticed speedtest is slower on the prime then other devices on same network ie. Laptops, netbooks, or smartphones anyone else noticing the same thing?
That is correct. but really I don't need anymore speed then what I am getting.

The low numbers are from my 4g hotspot phone
My Sig is the speed it is capable of
Well I noticed your sig was done on the 1st of Dec and this was done on the 24th and 25th. It would be better that the test be ran at the same time. Who knows if your data speed was 39mb's on the 24th or 25th. Your isp could have been slower that day for some reason. When I get my Prime, sometime this week, I'll test my phone (Evo 3D), my wife's (Evo 4G), my laptop (Macbook pro from '08), and the Prime and compare the results. I will try them in multiple spots in my house to see what the variation in speeds will be.

Updated sig. same speed
sooooo I have gotten use to the awful 3G speeds that I get most of the time around my area. Some days you have good days but overall they have been in the gutter. I don't know if today is just a good day or if the evdo radio is actually that much better in this phone.

I never got even close to that speed on my 3D, I have ran multiple test to see if it was a fluke but they have all come in great ping times, 1,000kbps+ with about 675 up average. Pretty impressed actually, my 3D in the same area would bounce all over the place 500 average maybe sometimes lower. Anyone else seeing this in there area?
Also 3G actually works great while on the phone! I have been waiting for this feature for YEARS, I read rumors about it but didn't think it would actually work. Wayyyyy better - I heard towers needed to be upgraded for this to work - is it working for you guys as well?
I traded in my ET4G but after testing a zillion times here at home I never got above 850 and that was only upon rare occasions. Most of the time I was between about 350 and 520. I am now pulling 1200 consistently
My 3g sucks as always!!!
http://db.tt/tybK6kOm
WAY faster than my hero! My hero would usually pull like 50kbps
I'm still getting the same results

Hey Everyone,
I'm pretty new at posting on XDA, but I have been going here for ROMs, Kernels, and advice since I got my OG Evo all that time ago.
Regardless, I've searched the forum and Google for anyone experiencing this problem, and I haven't found any anecdotes or threads on it. Ever since I've got my new Evo, I've been able to attenuate the WiFi signal just by grasping the top half of the phone or by handling it like I normally would in landscape mode. I could see the WiFi symbol drop down by two or three bars a few seconds after placing my hand on the top cover.
Obviously, some signal attenuation is predictable since the cover contains all the antennas, but I did not think it would be effected as much as it is. It seems to cut down the signal by at least half in terms of data download speed. Have people been experiencing this much of an effect?

Starting from the earliest run, I did six runs alternating between holding the device at the bottom and holding it either in landscape or grasping it by the top half.
My 3G signal isn't bothered by my hand at all, probably because of the wavelength difference. I'm just curious how much other people's signals are affected. Obviously, the speeds are still decent enough that it doesn't bug me too often. I will notice that sometimes I have to restart certain downloads/refresh loading pages due to inconsistency in the signal. And I'm sure LTE won't be affected since it also has a relatively large wavelength compared to WiFi.

Known problem with the ONE series but not the EVO LTE, take it back for replacement as nobody has this issue.

Sprint just notified me that the Sprint Vision upgrade (but not Spark) is complete in my area (suburbs of Washington, DC. 10 tests got me this range. I'm pretty happy.

I hope the next stop is Milwaukee... I had to disable LTE because my phone was stuck in limbo between 1 bar of LTE or 4-5 bars of 3g. Its better by my home, but at best I get half those speeds. ?

Just a few weeks before they officially went live here, my LTE speeds, in the same location, were around 7-8 Mbps. So whatever the final step in the upgrade process is seems to make a big difference.
Thats about same as what I'm getting I'm Warner Robins Ga. South of Atlanta. I am only 2 months on sprint now so I am not savvy yet on the triband and all. But I am happy with lte or spark as it shows lte and spins this little spark around averaging 17 to 20 down and 6 to 12 up. Fluctuates. But I'm not sure if this is best it gets here where I live or I'm still getting the upgrade. So. However I'm easy. As long as I can watch video without buffer at 1080 or 720 I'm happy. Quick posts and searches. I really see no real need for 80 up and down plus. Lol. Unless I needed to download a movie fast. Which I do not.
