As promised
Here is the Indian ftf file of the latest firmware for neov :

The ftf will work on all neov
Download & Extract using winrar or 7z
Install via flashtool
Do create a backup of ur current ROM
For rooting And CWM install : Same procedure as for .431 :Thanks Madfysh for the info on rooting and cwm
For peeps waiting on the kernel here is what u need to do : After flashing the ftf And rooting it and installing CWM: Go to flashtool again using flashmode U should have the.587 firmware ftf in firmware folder And in wipe section uncheck everything
In exclude section check everything except kernel that is dont check exclude kernel and thats it .. flash and reboot ..u should be fine ...
For those peeps getting bootloops after applying .431 mods on .587 here is the solution :
In CWM do clear u cache and dalvik cache before flashing the mods & for peeps looking to apply mods manually below are the instructions
For all those facing unexpected reboots on changing system apps listen carefully........
Dont directly copy the apps to /system/apps it will lead to a reboot...
Solution is
1. copy the app to /system first
2. Change permissions to rw_r__r__
3. Now copy the app to /system/app.
4. Replace it if necessary
5. As permissions were changed before replacing no reboot
6. After replacing as many apps as u want reboot the phone for changes to take effect

For unlocked bootloaders will need to relock ur bootloader to update from SEUS or PC companion OR simply download the ftf and flash using flashtool ..root and install CWM an uare done
Good going... using kinght47's method need to get the useless apps stripped and keep it flash ready.. expect I-Scream, Hybrid, ICS tweaked on this soon

Problem While Downloading ftf from 4Shared
Thanks to AbhiHeart to provided this ftf but the big Problem is that ftf file is 368mb he uploade that ftf on 4Shared Site & That Site Sucks it wont support any kind of Downloader like IDM or Orbit Downloader so our 256kbps Net is not able to download that file from Browser directly if he uploaded that on like MediaFire or which site support Downloader then we'll to able Download that FTF

Can't say much more about the ROM than what's already in the title, I grabbed it from i-don't-quite-remember-where (but not from warez type sites) since I couldn't update with PCC 'cause of unlocked bootloader. Checked it and it's the real deal, got it flashed and running on my Sola. FTF packaged neatly in a RAR.

Yes the rom came from Irontech so all credits and thanks go to him for publishing it (i only remembered it was him who released it on forum when rohit gave the link), but i think its place is here where it won't be lost in waves of threads like on general.

Check in the Update Centre, and if it is available, simply download and update your device. And no need to flash too!– I updated my phone this way today and it is completely safe. Hope that helps, mate

Yeah, both ways, using PC Companion or update centre, you'll save yourself from flashing.

Yes you will loose root!! If you wana keep the root, flash it with a custom kernel with root!! N ul hv .184 with root bro!!
Or if u using a custom kernel already untick flash kernel in flash tool and I guess u van keep the root!!

i got my new sola and updated the the firmware using the PCC. now i have the official .184 version . but i want to root the devices now . how can i root it . i already unlocked the boot loader and removed some bloatware . please guide me on the same .

If I remember right you can't root manually yet. You have to flash a kernel with auto root etc.

I have an XPERIA NEO V Rooted (still locked bootloader) with Build# 4.1.B.0.431. I recently receive message to update the system, probably new update 4.1.b.0.587. Should I need to un-root my device first before update the system via PC Companion
No pcc will remove it.

My neo has an international .431 firmware but the update is not available through PCC, SEUS nor OTA. I also tried with the german firmware and another one, but it's the same.
So I think the update hasn't been rolled out for neo MT15 yet. Anyway I'm here to create a .ftf file when the update will come !

Thanks but it leads me to a few more questions as I am not familiar with making of FTF file by FlashTool:
1. Is this an alternative flash method other than PC Companion or??
2. Is this just a method to create a FTF file based on what had been installed by PC Companion, i.e. if my NEO V has the 4.1.b.0.431, it just creates a 4.1.b.0.431 FTF?
3. Is it works for locked bootloader??
4. Could SEUS will obtain the latest update, i.e. 4.1.b.0.587 rather than PC Companion??
5. Where could get the latest 4.1.b.0.587 FTF, and how could I flash it or could send me more guide??

Go into Xperia Sola development section (you have sola, right?), there you find threads like [ICS][FTF] Official ftf... you can flash it without root - using flashtool - you will get unofficial official update.

Now it will ask u to connect ur phone in flashmode
Press the volume down button, keep it pressed and connect to usb
Flashing will start
Let it complete
U r done wait for flashing

You will get newest update if you follow these instructions (and if you download the right .ftf).
You DON'T NEED root for this.

This will install latest os within a matter of seconds
Make sure u download latest ftf
U will loose warranty if the si number dun match

Well,it is said that before installing any custom rom,always look for the availability of your region's stock ROM.Many of us don't and end up installing old firmware and then updating to the new one.
I had the same experience,there was no availability of .54 indian firmware for my Xperia Sola,searched XDA but to no avail.I only found one SEUS dump for .54 firmware,which i didn't knew how to use.So,i just made a FTF file using the files provided by Sony PC companion using Flashtool.

No,the arabic language is not available in the language settings list.Instead use locale select app from the market to get it.

you have to place the file in firmware folder where flashtool is installed..........

Hmm..its strange it should have been detected.I myself have flashed this a number of times.
May be you have changed the extension of the file by mistake while renaming.If its not the case,just uninstall your flashtool and reinstall it.then remove any other ftf placed inside the firmware folder,place the downloaded Xperia Sola Stock Ics 6.1.1.B.1.54 [Indian-Asia] FTF.ftf inside the firmware folder.Then start flashtool,remove the USB cable if connected,switch off your phone,press vol. up button and insert usb cable keeping the vol up pressed,once it is detected by flashtool,release vol up button.then press harry potter's forehead sign,i mean thunderflash sign,don't change anything in it(make sure its on falshmode) and press OK.Then select the firmware as Xperia Sola(MT27) and press ok,flashtool will take some time to unpack ftf in memory,then flashtool will popup some sort of banner saying remove your usb cable etc.etc...just remove the USB cable from the phone,then press vol. down button,while keeping it pressed insert USB cable,let it be detected by flashtool,then it will start flashing firmware to your phone.DO NOT REMOVE THE USB CABLE UNTIL IT FINISHES FLASHING.Congratulation you have installed the .54 firmware on your sola.
P.S After installing flashtool,install drivers for your phone,fastbootmode and flashmode.
and if you need to root your phone after flashing .54 firmware.Just flash .10 kernel in the same method,root via Bin4ry's method,then flash .54 kernel.

Bro..it is an ftf file which can be flashed using flashtool.This isn't a rom.This is the stock ics file.The procedure to flash it is given it the above post.

sorry bro, i didnt download this stock version. i downloaded it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2027246 . my download speed too slow and its about 380 mb. So, i cant download it from your post again. if u know the procedure of making FTF from above mentioned ROM plz share it so that i can flash it via flashtool. Thanks for reply.....

Sorry bro..can't tell anything about that,but if it has ftf extension,you can try placing in the firmware folder of flashtool and flash it.

Thanks bro for your reply . bt it isnt a FTF file. Its a ROM file including META-INF and others file.....

Does the other files have .sin extension?If yes..Then try putting the file(archive) in the firmware folder and see if flashtool detects it as a flashable file.
no ftf file
boss..there isnt a ftf in your link. its a zip file.......

i now have ver 4.0.4 android on my xperia u , but i wanna root the phone , to install the applications that need root , so how i do it ?
i hope someone help me about it ..
and i forget ask about something too , when i use wifi , the system become slow !! and i not use many application just google store or just play a game " subway surfers " ..
Search for bin4ry rooting method in the forum and follow steps and you will root the device

AFAIK .54 FW cant be flashed using Binary method........
the steps are if you are on .54 FW
1) flash .10 kernel
2) root using binary
3) flash .54 kernel

i heard about Google ! can you imagine that !!
But the problem for me , i not understand what is "binary" and kernel !! , so i just wanna link for download and i just run the files on laptop and mobile !! , understand ??
i tried type "binary"on google , but i found many topic have this word and i lost , and my english not so good to discovery what is that

Chill boy.....
Just download the kernel files from the link above and then search for root using binary in xda top left of the webpage......
