Because you have different apps and configuration in both phones, hence the huge difference in battery performance

Brightness and processes .. Are simply different , we all have ICS but someone says that his battery lasts a week ( liar) and some other says it lasts roughly a day( i totally believe him ) , others say it lasts 3 days ( thats's ok ) , it's all about different settings and ongoing processes on each phone

Why are you still disturbing yourself.
Do both phones have the same number of Apps installed? NO
Do both phones have the same number of Apps running in background? NO
Do both phones have the same configuration for all the apps? NO
then why do you think both phones will have the same battery life?
If you have excessive battery drain on your phone, then let's know about it, Rom your phone and Rom details, Including necessary battery info screenshots, then I and other guys here will surely help you find solution to your problem.

One more thing. Did you buy both of them at the same time? If not, it could be that one has a later revision of hardware than the other one.
Otherwise, obvious reasons are posted above.

You don't seem to have a big issue.
-You played game,
-you have Facebook app, a known battery hog
-Your messenger is running 24/7
-Your Wi-Fi is always connected.
Reason why your battery is dropping faster:
- Facebook and similar apps will want to stay connected, intermittently, therefore your phone will not be going into deep sleep, when the screen is off etc
Try these:
1. Visit this thread, read through and follow the proffered solutions there: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869930
I just helped the guy solve a similar but much worse problem.

You can identify if there's an issue with the battery or if it's an issue with the software/configuration with this test.
Take Phone A and Battery A and test the battery life. Do the same on Phone B and Battery B. Now switch the batteries and try again. Based on the results you can see which battery is faulty or which phone's software is causing poor battery life.
I think your battery could be on it's way out. My original Samsung battery barely holds a charge now - lasts for a few hours. My Anker 1750mah batteries (slight bump from stock) last all day.

Having owned the original Galaxy followed by s2 and s3 id say each new version has about 30% advantage over its predecessor. Galaxy didnt get me through a day, the s2 could just about scrape a day of my usage and the s3 leaves me with about 20% when its time for bed.
Its all relative to usage but my phone behaviour hasnt changed much over the devices and the s3 just about hits that smartphone sweet spot for me... a whole day of usage with a bit more left over just incase i cant get to a charger
Hope this helps

Forgot to add about charging performance. Havent actually timed a charge but its pretty fast using the sammy charger. I do have some old chargers that arnt sammy ones and they do seem a little slower probabky due to the limited current they can punch out.. I also tweaked the charging currents to max the current the device charges in siyah kernal. Havent tested if this affects charging times but id say it defo isnt slow. On holiday at the mo but if i get time ill post some charge graphs when i get time.

I too have had all the galaxy s variants. battery life is relative to rom and kernel as well as usage.
personally speaking my S3's battery life is very good using Rohit V11 and Siyah 1.5.2.
Concerning charging, what do you call pretty fast? My s2 takes about 4 hours to charge, mmHg Xperia play less than two hours...

Did you follow the advice of LexterAce in post #2 and install BBS?
If so, why not let it collect information for 5 to 10 hours and then analyze the dump? Almost always the dump can help you to find out what keeps your phone awake.
If not you could also post the dump and maybe someone else can help analyzing it. In the BBS thread are many useful tips and links about how to read and interpret the dump.
Hi, did you resolve the battery problem?

Battery calibration for stock phone

Hi. A friend of mine has an unrooted GS2 (android 4.0.3, baseband JJLP8) For a week now he has been having serious battery problems. Like when he uses his camera the battery can drop 30% ina few minutes...
A few places that i checked suggested to reset the fuel gauge chip using an app like extweaks. But because the phone has stock rom & kernel thos kind of apps dont work.
What can i do withous first rooting his device?
Thanks, shlomo

You can't 'calibrate' the battery. No such thing.

Galaxy S3 i9305T Battery Issues

Hi, my wife seems to be having an issue with charging her smartphone. Over the last month or so her phone has been taking longer to charge, I have the same phone but the international i9305 and it charges allot faster. We are both using CM 10.1 custom ROM which I have just installed on her phone, prior to this ROM she was on the stock ROM JB 4.1.2 but still facing the same issue. The battery is currently at 72% charge which has taken 3hrs 8 min so far. Is anyone else experiencing the same or is her battery on its way out? :banghead:

Try installing a custom kernel that allows you to change the input current when you charge. Siyah kernel is a good kernel, increase it up to 1100ma and see if there is a difference. If it worked, the phone should now charge faster than the unmodified phone; if it doesn't, it is a hardware issue which you should take back to Samsung.
Please suggest a good app for detecting battery drain.
The original chargers for the s3 are known to be faulty/erratic...might be that you have one of those with your phone,I use my old s1 charger and USB lead, as do many, or s2, anything other than that POS they supplied with the phone!
UPDATE: thanks for all the suggestions folks, not sure what the go was but all is good now. Full charge now only takes 1hr 20 min, haven't done any thing different just doesn't take over 4 hours anymore.
Cheers.
