Galaxy SIII problem ! - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody, i have a big problem.
Why on Galaxy S3 cell standby, Android system and Android OS use so much battery?
On my friend's HTC One X every of this uses barely 3% of battery, while on my Galaxy this number reaches even 20%. I will post a screenchot.
PS: I downloaded and installed latest software update.

You have to use Betterbatterystats and run it and detect what uses your juice.
Download https://www.google.com/url?q=http://...2ZYrutbyzY_zvg
There next you have to unbloat your phone. Remove or freeze with Titanium backup
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1634624
An example is:
At end your S3 have to use max 2-4 % per night wifi and wcdma switched off on gsm mode.

This is a Bug that was worked out in later firmware versions........it is not a true representation of the batter use for the cell standby. its just an eye sore but it is really not eating that much of your battery.
if you are on the new Roms and firmware then ignore my post all together.

Q16: Why I can see my cell standby percentage when my device is a PMP?
Well... Android is first and most a mobile phone, tablet OS and not a PMP OS. The OS think you're a phone and then use cell standby but don't worry, there's no battery life extracted from there.

super battery drainage

Hi xda forum users...
I recently got cyanogenmod9 for my phone and the battery life is terrible.
Samsung galaxy gio
Moderate texting
Wifi on but turns off during sleep
No calls
No games
I really like cm9 but I also like battery life being longer

Ok I dont use ur phone so i am not sure if what i say might be accurate. From what i can see, ur phone was only supported my Samsung till android 2.3. Which probably means that your phone doesnt have a proper kernel for android 4.0.4 on which cm9 is based on. So probably the kernel being used isnt fully stable, hence ur battery life is terrible, I would suggest u stick to a gingerbread (android 2.3) ROM with a stable kernel to enjoy good battery life. It could also be that ur battery might actually be spoilt. Is there any slight bloating on ur battery?

The kernel which was compiled for the your phone might not be fully stable yet causing the battery drain. If there is a new version of that rom try updating to that and see if that fixes the problem.

[Q][YP-G70] Disable Cell Standby [FIXED]

Hey guys, i just noticed that the Cell Standby causes more battery consumption to our Players, mine is 70% even though i'm already in Airplane mode. I already Freezed "SIM Toolkit" and other phone apps. Unfortunately, it still exists in Battery Usage.
By the way, I'm currently using RemICS-JB rom w/ Sultan Kernel r5b2.
Anyway we can disable Cell Standby? Since, YP-G70 uses only Wi-Fi, I think it will really save much more battery if we can disable Cell Standby.

[Q] Extreme battery usage

Hey. I've just installer cyanogenmod for about 20 hours ago. Seems to work pretty nice, but the battery usage is a big disappointment: please look at the attatched image. It's a screenshot of the usage after about 9 hours of doing absolutely nothing.
Why is Android using all the power, and is there anything i can do about it ?
Its a Samsung galaxy note 3 btw running Android 4.4.4, kernen velsion 3.4.0-g459F52f.

Might be because of the kernel flash a new one. Also ask in the thread you downloaded cm11 about the high battery drainage (it might be a known bug) but usually things like this happen because of kernel or your forgot an app in background.
I'll try that kernel thing .. THX. Therse is no battery consuming apps running in the background. If there was, they should appear on the battery usage list as well, right?

Try reading the many posts on the exact same subject, free ram is not related to speed.
If you really want to speed your phone up then remove all the bloat.
Nope~ my phone is almost empty... maybe alot pic but my phone memory still have 30% empty space...
